Villa overview - owner's description

Comfortably accommodates up to 6 to 9 people, close to Puerto de la Cruz and Orotava. Easy access to the motorway and walking distance of local restaurants. Relaxing sub-tropical garden & BBQ area

It's easy to get lost in the grounds of this large family home. The rooms are spacious with a thoughtfully designed layout so that there are plenty of private places to hide away from each other. Within easy distance of the tourist centre of Puerto de la Cruz, its beaches and Lago Martianez complex and the historic town of La Orotava with its beautiful architecture. Tourist attractions such as Loro Parque (5km) and the Botanical Gardens (1km) are all within easy reach. Loads of restaurants and street life in the near vicinity. A car is recommended but good taxi services are cheap and available 24/7. This property is owned and managed by an English family who have been resident on the Island since 1906, so in depth knowledge of the Island is a specialty. The Valley of Orotava is in the North of the Island where the floral landscape is truly breath-taking. The house is uniquely located with beautiful views of the sea, the peak of Tenerife (Mount Teide) from the beautiful sub-tropical gardens. Disabled access is good.

The property is cleaned on arrival and exit and a private maid service can be arranged by prior appointment.

The four bedrooms and one studio bedroom provide excellent areas for your rest and relaxation. The studio area and one double bedroom can be set apart from the rest of the house, making them ideal for a mix of families or three generations to holiday together under one roof.

We have arranged great BBQs for our guests, and have catered for breakfast for large groups. In fact we can arrange catering for any occasion or your everyday meals.

You will have a washing machine and dry area for your laundry. We can arrange for your laundry to be done if you'd prefer.

You will met and welcomed to the villa on arrival, we provide a complimentary food pack for your immediate needs. Our property manager will be on hand should any problem or query arise during your stay. Your complete satisfaction with the property and the fabulous facilities it offers is assured.

We make an additional charge of £150 per person per week for parties of 7 to 9 people. These prices are for guests older than 8 years old, but all children are included in the first 6 guests. (So, if your party is more than 6 people then the charges apply, unless you are two adults accompanied by 5,6 or 7 children All under 8 years old. In this case we would need to adjust your price prior to confirmation as the system will charge persons 7, 8 and 9 as an extra).

So, go ahead and book now. The prices are all adjustable prior to final confirmation when your details are known. The owner is happy to consider your specific requirements (additional days, extra people, specific needs etc.).

5 out of 5 people recommend staying here

Couple from Fordingbridge, United Kingdom Oct 2014

We cannot recommend this property highly enough. The photos do not do it justice. As soon as you walk in it feels like a home rather then a holiday let. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. The welcome pack was far more that just a few essentials! The garden is just delightful and the pool is bigger than it appears in the pictures. We had a wonderful week here and intend to return for another week.

This is a lovely house in a very quiet but deceptively convenient area. The mature gardens are lovely, and contains the most generous fig tree Ive ever seen! Toby, the charming and well-organised owner, couldnt have taken more trouble to ensure we had a comfortable and pleasant stay: he managed to provide two cots and two high chairs, and the swimming pool is safely gated off to allow for peace of mind with toddlers. The view from the house includes both sea and the magnificent Teide. Highly recommended. Foodies would profit from taking a sharp knife!

A home from home with great character. It has a lovely sub tropical garden with beautiful swimming pool and a view of the peak of Mount Teide.
The reception room is large and very comfortable as are the beds.
Parking was very easy.

Fabulous villa in a quiet location with great views of the mount Teide, (which was covered with a fresh layer of snow during our stay) and looking in the other direction you can enjoy ocean views with spectacular sunsets.
The villa itself is comfortable and very spacious and lots of bathrooms, great kitchen and dining room all exactly as described.
The mature garden is on 2 levels with a lovely bbq and pool area, every area can be independently fenced off if required to keep small children safe. We have 3 teenage boys and they loved the pool in the evening after a day at the beach or sightseeing, while we watched them from the upper level garden, enjoying refreshments and sunsets.
The owners made us very welcome and could be contacted 24/7 (if required) via local house phone or own mobile with immediate response, they had plenty of local knowledge and advised on local attractions.
Paradise........

What a lovely holiday!

This is a great villa. Pool for the kids, views of the ocean kept me happy, and views of snow capped Mount Teide for my wife - brilliant.

We have 3 young kids and the help we got from the owners was exceptional. They went to extraordinary lengths to child proof the place and looked after us extremely well (we even managed to sneak in a babysitting night for a meal out at the lovely local restaurant). Ive never seen such attention to detail from the owners of any other villa weve rented - discrete if we wanted to be left alone, but help with trips, advice on where to visit, and almost immediate response to any questions about the property.

The house is amazing - great big lounge, large bedrooms and too many bathrooms to count. The kitchen is better stocked than ours at home.

The pool is on a separate level and is completely secured so we could use the main garden area directly off the house with no worry the kids would get to the water.

Translation We were a group of 8 friends that stayed in this property. The décor is really stunning it gives the impression of having come from an antique dealer’s garage. The location is good, not too far from Las Cañadas/Teide National Park, La Caldera nor Botanical Gardens. Also nearby shops and restaurants which gave us the chance to forage for provisions for our group. Briefly nothing else to say except that we found there were too few kitchen pots, pans and stuff for 8 adults. Go stay! – It’s quite something! And the owners are very pleasant and cheerful.

We stayed at Santa Barbara and found it the perfect place to base ourselves to see Tenerife. 3 minutes from the main peripheral road for the island, it is only 5 minutes from the delightful town of Puerto de la Cruz. The house is extremely spacious, with light airy rooms, a large lounge area and dining room. We also loved the beautiful garden, barbecue area and swimming pool that look out over Mount Teide. We cannot wait to come back to this perfect home from home. Neil Davidson and Debbie Carlton. London. January 2014.

Extra information

The location of Santa Barbara, whilst quiet and rural is only a short distance from the towns of Puerto de la Cruz and La Orotava. Puerto is a modern tourism resort with all the amenities one would expect from a world class tourist resort. Orotava is a traditional Canary town with old buildings in the Spanish colonial style, with many Canary features too. The house was a family home of a British resident family for many years and has a prime location, overlooking the sea, and with excellent views of Mount Teide, the peak of Tenerife, and the highest mountain in Spain at 13,000 feet. A wonderful day's excursion is a trip up to the Cañadas National Park, a volcanic lunar landscape, with a cable car trip to the top of the mountain. On a clear day you can see all 7 Canary Islands and the coast of Africa, 100 miles to your east. The location is a great base for exploring the whole Island, and the North offers a quality of landscape and sightseeing that won't disappoint.

The properties listed here belong to British residents of Tenerife. In fact our Grandfather immigrated to Tenerife in 1906 and so the family, although British, are truly integrated in the local community. We know the best places to spend time, restaurants, sights and experiences. All our houses have been used as our own family homes at some point, so we know the properties really well too. We will be glad to welcome you to Tenerife and we wish you a pleasant holiday.
