Villa overview

With breath-taking views of the Atlantic Ocean, Villa Clotilde enjoys a heavenly location just one kilometre from Puerto Calero.

Accommodating six guests, Villa Clotilde is a luxury private villa and pool. Space here is generous and the decor and furnishings are opulent. The impressive dining-living room is flanked on one side by a glazed wall, which looks out onto your beautiful covered terrace. Beyond it is your private pool and view of the sea.

Back indoors, the well-appointed and modern kitchen is sociably connected to the dining area by a breakfast bar. Two of the three bedrooms are found on the ground floor. The master bedroom features a dressing room, super king bed, en-suite bathroom including a jacuzzi bath and double doors which lead out to your own pool-side sun terrace. Wow! One of the two twin bedrooms is also en-suite.

Leading out from the living room is the welcome shade of the large covered terrace. This is your place for escaping the heat of the afternoon, sipping cool drinks and dining outdoors morning, noon and night. A barbecue is also provided for family meals beside the pool. The sun terrace is beautifully tiled and framed on three sides by lawned gardens, tropical plants and traditional lava stone walls. Lie back on a sun lounger to soak up the sun and your delightful surroundings.

Have we mentioned the view? It's stunning. Visible past the low wall at any point from the pool terrace, your eye sails out across the Atlantic to the horizon, taking your worries with it. A serious distraction, even from the best of novels and swimming pool antics.

If you tire of all this private luxury, there's a small pebbly beach just half a kilometre from your door. Or take the short walk to Puerto Calero's upmarket marina. Attracting yachts and boats from all over the world, the waterfront is a fabulous place for people-watching. For a sandy beach, shopping centre and more visitor attractions, travel just five kilometres up the coast to Puerto del Carmen; Lanzarote's most popular resort. But make sure you're back at Villa Clotilde before the sun goes down, ready, with drink in hand, to admire the colours of the sunset across your very own sea view.

Location

Villa Clotilde's proximity to Puerto Calero's waterfront means you can enjoy a car-free holiday. It's just one kilometre to this smart, purpose-built marina, that now enjoys visits from sailors and sleek-looking yachts from all over the world. You'll find a wonderful array of international restaurants, cafes and bars lining the marina. Pull up a chair and watch the nautical world go by.

Just a few hundred metres from Villa Clotilde is a small pebbly beach, but if you and the family want to build sandcastles and jump over waves, make the short journey to Playa Grande. The long, golden beach at Puerto del Carmen is only five kilometres away. You can either take public transport along the coast road or hitch a ride on the water taxi across the bay. Beyond the beach, you'll discover an abundance of restaurants, bars, shops, and water sports. Biosfera Plaza shopping centre is open until 10pm Monday to Saturday and includes much more than just shops. Head here for eateries, bars, cinemas and even mini-golf!

Rancho Texas Amusement Park will entertain the whole family all day long. It's a double-whammy of exotic animal encounters, shows and splashy fun at the wild west themed water park.

If you wish to explore the island further, you'll need to hire a car. Further north, and inland, lies the lovely little town of Teguise. In the fifteenth century, this was the original capital of Lanzarote and is also littered with references and homages to Lanzarote's favourite son and artistic genius, Cesar Manrique.
