Villa overview - owner's description

Splendid, rustic home in Port Verd, Mallorca, beautifully built with an attention to detail like all the private homes in this residential area. The home retains a medieval charm, with marble floors, green belt areas all around and a great pool. The villa is walking distance from the pretty fishing port of Cala Bona, popular for its restaurants and friendly family atmosphere. Feel like a millionaire and spend a memorable peaceful time in an area renowned for its beauty, aesthetics and natural charm. The east coast of Mallorca is well known for its small villages and great sandy beaches, away from the the noise of Palma's crowded beaches and well worth the extra drive.

Cala Bona is a fishing village next to Cala Millor whose small harbour still retains the charm of times gone by. It is a picturesque spot with beautiful views and a perfect place in which to spend a few pleasant hours.
From here you can take a short ferry to different locations along the coast. You can also go to Cala Ratjada from where a small ferry can be caught to Menorca.
Other picturesque places include Arta, Son Servera, Cala Aguilla and Cala Mesquida.

Family from Shirley, United Kingdom Aug 2016

We had a fantastic holiday in Port Verd and the owners were extremely friendly, helpful and lovely people. The area is delightful as you have the luxury of a quiet residential area but all the amenities are only 10-15 mins away walking. The pool is a great size with a deep area perfect for the kids to perfect their diving.
Could not fault the villa in any way. Fantastic hosts and will definitely visit again.

Couple from Rickmansworth, United Kingdom Aug 2013

The property is very well located - close to the buzz of Cala Mallor and a short drive to Porto Christo, Arta and all associated attractions.
The house is very charming with lots of original features. It is located on a quiet street and plants and trees in the garden and around the property reduce noise from the road and provide excellent cover.

Although the main areas of the house were clean, we found that the kitchen could benefit from a more thorough cleaning especially the oven and some cabinets. It looked that far-to reach shelves and cabinets have been neglected for a while and they were sticky to touch and smelly.

Our communication with the owners was very regular and they were quick to respond with advice on places to visit. However, when things started going wrong, there was no help or effort to fix. The outside lights were not working when we arrived and we were told to replace the light bulbs (not provided). Wi Fi stopped working on the second day of our 2-week stay and it was not fixed so we had to go to cafes in town with our laptops to check emails, which was not something one wants to do on a holiday.

Sky is adviertised as one of the selling points for this property but we found the connection very patchy and there were several evenings that we could not watch. Again, we told the owners about the problem but nobody came to fix it.

Lastly, 3 days before we left, the water in the pool went very cloudy so we could not use it and we were told that the gardener would come after weve left. That it not something we wanted to hear when we were paying £1000 a week for facilities we could not use -(.

Overall, we left with mixed feelings. The house is lovely and location is very good. However, we felt the house has been neglected and the owners do not have anyone to be there to help their guests if things go wrong. Regular communication is good but wed rather had things fixed so we could enjoy all facilities we were paying for.

I APPRECIATE THE COMMENTS OF ALL OUR CLIENTS, WHETHER POSITIVE OR NOT. BY GIVING US THEIR HONEST OPINON, HOWEVER TOUGH, IT SERVES TO MAKE US WORK HARDER AT MAKING THE STAY FOR FUTURE CLIENTS EVEN BETTER. WE GENERALLY HAVE EXCELLENT COMMENTS, AND FOR THE FIRST TIME I RECEIVED NEGATIVE COMMENTS, SOME OF WHICH I FOUND A BIT EXCESSIVE. PLEASE FIND REPLIES TO THE COMMENTS MADE AGAINST THE PROPERTY. 1. "The property is very well located - close to the buzz of Cala Mallor and a short drive to Porto Christo, Arta and all associated attractions. TRUE2. It looked that far-to reach shelves and cabinets have been neglected for a while and they were sticky to touch and smelly. WE HAVE A CLEANER COME IN ONCE A WEEK, SO I FIND THIS COMMENT A BIT UNFAIR4. Our communication with the owners was very regular and they were quick to respond with advice on places to visit. I TRY MY BEST WITH ALL OUR CLIENTS.5. However, when things started going wrong, there was no help or effort to fix. The outside lights were not working when we arrived and we were told to replace the light bulbs (not provided). I´M SORRY BUT THIS IS WHERE I EXPECT GROWN ADULTS TO TAKE INITIATIVE. IF SOMEONE IS RENTING A VILLA AND A BULB FUSES SURELY THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO CHANGE A BULB AS WE ARE NOT RUNNING A HOTEL. I WAS IN PALMA AT THE TIME 1:30 HOURS AWAY. THERE WERE SPARE BULBS IN A DRAW, ALONG WITH CANDLES INCASE.6. Wi Fi stopped working on the second day of our 2-week stay and it was not fixed so we had to go to cafes in town with our laptops to check emails, which was not something one wants to do on a holiday. HAVING A VILLA OUTSIDE A TOWN CAN SOMETIMES MEAN THAT WHAT FOLK ARE USED TO IN THE CITY CANNOT NOT ALWAYS BE WORKING 100%. MY APOLOGIES TO CLIENT ON THIS ONE. I COMPLAINED TO ORANGE, BUT THEY DID NOT COME TO FIX THE PROBLEM IN TIME BEFORE THE CLIENTS DEPARTURE. SORRY7. Sky is advertised as one of the selling points for this property but we found the connection very patchy and there were several evenings that we could not watch. SAME REASONS AS ABOVE. WE WILL ADJUST THE ADVERT TO REFLECT THE UNSTABLE NETWORK THAT EVERYBODY IN THE AREA HAS TO LIVE WITH. THIS IS THE COST FOR US HAVING TO LIVE NEXT TO SEA AND BY THE COUNTRYSIDE. I UNDERSTAND THE SAME PROBLEMS OCCUR IN RURAL AREAS IN THE UK8. Again, we told the owners about the problem but nobody came to fix it. INSTRUCTIONS WERE GIVEN BY PHONE AND TEXT AND NOT MUCH ELSE COULD BE DONE APART FROM WAIT FOR ORANGE TO FIX THE ADSL. SKY SIGNAL IS WEAK THROUGHOUT MALLORCA. WE ARE ON THE BORDER OF FOOTPRINT OF THE SKY SIGNAL IN EUROPE. THIS MEANS THAT AT CERTAIN TIME OF THE DAY THE SIGNAL WILL BE WEAK AND THE SATELLITE BOX WILL GO BLUE, THIS HAPPENS FOR A FEW HOURS IN THE AFTERNOON ON SOME CHANNELS, NOT ALL.9. Lastly, 3 days before we left, the water in the pool went very cloudy so we could not use it and we were told that the gardener would come after we've left. ALL LIGHTS HAVE BEEN CHECKED, BUT I WILL NOT TRAVEL FROM PALMA TO CHANGE A LIGHT BULB. ANY PROBLEM THAT CANNOT BE FIXED OVER THE PHONE WILL BE RESOLVED BY CLEANER OR HANDYMAN. POOL WILL BE CLEANED ONCE A WEEK, A NEW POOL MANAGER HAS BEEN ARRANGED. CLIENTS WILL BE EXPECTED TO CHECK THAT THERE ARE 2 POOL TABLETS IN THE BASKET IN THE POOL DURING THE WEEK.

Villa is beautiful, very comfortable has everything you need. Pool is big. Owners very friendly and helpful. Port Verd is lovely quiet retreat with secluded beach...Cala bona was great for resturants. We enjoyed a very relaxing holiday and will definately return!

Our family have stayed in the property for a week. Property itself and the location are excellent. It is located in a beautiful neibourhood, close (10 min walk) from Cala Bona + Cala Millor - famous east coast resorts/beaches/promenades full of shops/restaurants etc.
The property area is not big, compact I would say, but has a wonderfull terrace and a very big pool (two level one - wchich makes it possible to use for children).
The owners are extremely friendly and helpfull. Note occassional noise from the street (pool side, not terrase side)
Full go ahead recommendation!
