Pollensa, (otherwise known as Pollença in Catalan) is a charming medieval town made up of three areas: Puerto Pollensa itself, Port de Pollensa and Cala Sant Vicenç in the northern region of Majorca. The town was founded by the Catalans in the 13th Century, some 6km away from the coast and was used as a refuge from pirates.

Renting one of our villas or apartments puts everything on your doorstep: beautiful cobbled streets, wonderful beaches and whitewashed houses nestled in the rural Majorcan countryside. Pollensa's town centre has charming narrow streets and historic buildings centering on Plaça Major, the old town square. The resort's large marina, home to many a luxury yacht, has plenty of upscale restaurants.

Over the years Pollensa has become a popular destination with artists, writers and musicians; Agatha Christie’s novel ‘Trouble at Pollensa Bay’ was written here, where the writer enjoyed long walks to the lighthouse at Port de Pollensa! History buffs will enjoy exploring the medieval town of Alcudia, just a 15 minute bus ride away.

With plenty of cultural gems to discover, this town is also famous for its ancient 365 step El Calvari stairway, north of the square. At the top lies a small and beautiful chapel where you can enjoy views of the surrounding countryside and Tramuntana mountain range. This rural slice of Majorca is a haven for cyclists and hikers, where the most scenic route is the 3km walk through the Boquer valley to the ocean on the other side.
