Pollença, Port de Pollença, Cala de Sant Vicenç and Formentor make up one of the most wonderful areas in our island, and without doubt it is a very attractive place to visit any time of the year.

The municipality of Pollença offers to all its visitors the possibility of enjoying both sea and mountain landscapes and a wide range of cultural and leisure activities.

Emblematic places like the Calvary or the Roman Bridge, the interesting Museum of Pollença, the Music Festival, the different art exhibitions...make even more attractive the visit to Pollença old town.
Port de Pollença preserves the personality of a privileged area, with its extensive seaside promenade and wide beaches. Cala de Sant Vicenç is made up by a group of wonderful inlets of crystalline waters located at the mountain range of Cavall Bernat´s feet and by the prehistoric caves of L´Alzinaret .
Formentor, an artists inspiration setting, with the Colomer bay window, Formentor beach and, obviously, the lighthouse, located in Formentor Cape. Landscape, history, art, culture, gastronomy, tradition and services...near here, in Pollença.

Overall we thought this was a lovely villa in a lovely part of Mallorca. We certainly had a fabulous holiday and would recommend this holiday to other families. About Us and Our Holiday: 2 adults and 1 infant, 18 months old. We visited for 10 nights at the beginning of June 2013. Weather: Awesome. Sunny, no rain, little. Evenings cool. Getting there: We hired a car from Hertz. I think this is a must with the Pollenca area in general (its an hour drive from Palma Airport) but also because the villa is not really walking distance from anywhere. Finding this place was a bit tricky. There are some directions on the booking form, which get you nearly there, but the closing few hundred yards are tough. For the benefit of future residents, the directions mention turning right after 1.7 kms. This is spot on and to make it a bit easier, Ill mention that there are some black and white chevron signs at the turning and a communal dustbin store. Once youve turned into this very tight, rough road, head down for 30 metres and turn right again, towards a villa. The villa you can see isnt yours. Drive past it into what looks like a field. As you turn the corner into the "field" you realise that actually its a continuation of the road. If you have any probs, ring the very nice people who will come and show you the way, as we had to. Arrival: The villa was very nice on arrival. Beautifully kept gardens and nicely furnished inside. All very clean. It is in the middle of nowhere - basically in the midst of an agricultural area. We had an expectation that it was a bit nearer some life, but its not. You can hear cockerels crowing in the morning from the farm next door. Whilst we werent expecting quite such a rural location, it certainly wasnt a problem for us. Overall, its in a nice spot. At other villas weve hired there have been some basics provided on arrival. Here there was not a lot. There was a bottle of fly spray and a loo roll and I think that was it. I think its quite nice if theres a bottle of wine and some essentials left for you - particularly on quite an expensive rental like this. I also think that its good if stuff like washing up liquid, hand soap and maybe some cloths or dishwasher tablets are left. Our first night was a little sparse food/facilities wise because none of this is provided. Its just something to be prepared for - youre going to have to spend 50-100 euros in the supermarket - before you start on food and drink - buying EVERYTHING you need in the house.. salt & pepper, washing up equipment, everything really. Villa Exterior: The gardens are really nice. Beautifully looked after and full of flowers. The shaded patio area is great - we had breakfast here everyday. The pool is a nice size and looks pretty however it was too cold to use. I dont mind cold water usually - I was fine in the sea for instance - but I just couldnt stay in this and the same applied for my wife and daughter. It was a proper hypothermia job! I guess the situation might be better later in the season. The pool also gets quite a lot of flies etc in it which you have to manually net out (net provided). For these two reasons, a suggestion I would make to the owners would be an insulating cover for the pool (or a heater) and turn the filter up a bit. The poolside and patio furniture is cheap plastic but in reasonable working order and serves adequately. The BBQ area is nice. Due in part to the rural location, theres lots of flying wildlife which during the day is great as there are butterflies and bees etc which kids will love. At night youre going to want to repellent up and invest in some citronella candles, however I imagine that applies to many villas in Mallorca. Villa Interior: Lounge/Diner, really nice. The TV is pretty basic but we werent in Spain to watch TV. If you are a TV addict, its worth noting the only English speaking channels are BBC World News and CNN. Theres a DVD player but no DVDs. Bedrooms - here comes our only real whinge. The beds are really uncomfortable. We didnt really sleep that well as the beds and bedding were so basic. Too small, really uncomfortable. Note to owners: get them upgraded! Bathroom - nice. Large and well furnished. The hot water situation isnt great. For two adults and one baby we had to be careful not to use it all at shower time. If my wife went first then Id end up having half a cold shower. The area: Within walking distance of the villa there isnt too much going on but its nice for a stroll. About a 20 minute walk away is a hotel with a restaurant where we had lunch one day and is quite pleasant. You could I guess walk here then order a cab into town however we didnt do this. Porta Pollenca and Pollenca are not within sensible walking distance. I would guess theyd be an hour or more walk away. I cant say enough good things about the wider area really. Porta Pollenca is a lovely Mallorcan seaside resort. Very family friendly, without being "bucket-and-spade" and without being full of English Breakfasts and Irish Bars. Theres a gorgeous beach which seemed about a mile long. The sea is clean and blue. Its not "fancy" (although there are one or two posher restaurants) but its also not tacky. As a family, we thought it was perfect. Check out the Pine Walk and have dinner at one of the hotel overlooking the beach and sea. Pollenca is an old town set back in the hills behind the villa. Its gorgeous and I very much recommend it, particularly for evenings. There are loads of very nice restaurants surrounding a beautiful village square. Its a lot posher than Porta Pollenca, but still with a family atmosphere. Both are about 5-10 mins drive from the villa. We didnt go anywhere else as we had such a good time staying in or visiting one of these two places. Theres a good supermarket in Porta Pollensa. Service: When we couldnt find the villa a chap came out and rescued us promptly - good stuff. The coffee maker was broken and it was replaced the day we reported it - again good. A gardener popped around a couple of times to water the plants and someone changed the towels half way through the week. Overall the service was good. Summary: Pros: Nice villa, great place to go on holiday esp for families, we had a fab time. Cons: Pool too cold to use in June. Beds need improving. Would be nice to have a "Welcome Pack" with some basics in on arrival. Tips: You need a car Would we go back? Yes.....

Had the property for 10 days - lovely clean Villa, set in amazing area. About 25 min walk to Port Pollensa (can get a taxi back for around 10 Euros.. and if driving only takes around 5 minutes...where you will get a lovely sandy beach and lots of bars / restaurants. However we spent many day / nights by the amazing Villa pool and BBQ. This is very much an ideal place for relaxing.
