Villa overview - owner's description

Combining a beautifully traditional Mallorcan style with a fabulously modern design, Casa de Calvari presents the height of luxury and comfort in the stunning town of Pollensa.

Arrival at the villa brings you to a traditional stone front, where a beautiful wooden door leads you into a modern haven within. The bright, spacious kitchen is beautifully lit by the gleaming sunlight from the enveloping glass walls. With a large island that doubles up as a breakfast bar, there is plenty of space for all kinds of meal prep and group activity, with the dining table alongside. The open plan ensures an airy, spacious ambience and allows conversation to flow throughout both the interior and exterior of the fabulous villa. The vast dining area overlooks the garden and the wondrous views beyond. Alongside the dining table there is the lounge. A fine leather sofa in front of the TV provides a perfect relaxation spot for the cooler evenings.

Each of the five bedrooms enjoys a glass expanse of patio doors, ensuring the light and warmth of the world beyond are welcomed within its walls. All of the beds are of the finest quality, with plush cushions and throws. Two of the five bedrooms enjoy ensuite shower facilities, and there are another two full bathrooms available on the lower floor. All four bathrooms are modern and equipped with everything from fluffy white towels to hairdryers to ensure your every need is met throughout your stay!

Of course, a picture paints a thousand words and the view speaks for itself. Slightly elevated out of the town of Pollensa, the villa enjoys an utterly privileged spot on the hillside overlooking the typical Spanish rooftops, the leafy surroundings and the distant mountains. Imagine the bliss of waking up to this every morning! Enjoy dinner under the stars, or a dip in the pool overlooking this delightful expanse of a traditional Mallorcan town, green mountains and even the Sea! The enormous pool is ensconced in a set of sun loungers, giving you the perfect spot from which to admire the surroundings and take in a little of the famous Balearic sun!

Pollensa is the picture-perfect district of Mallorca, regarded as the cultural centre of the north of the island! When people picture Mallorca, they might not know it, but often what they're picturing is Pollensa. Endless sandy beaches and roads lined with palm-trees set against the stunning backdrop of the Tramuntana mountain range. The diverse landscape, from fertile valleys to steep mountains and gently undulating hills and of course the beaches which seem to stretch endlessly to the horizon, is just one of the reasons that so many great artists have chosen to call this island home throughout the last century.

The town of Pollensa will certainly provide your fill of authentic Spanish culture – 17th and 18th century houses, cobbled, winding streets and traditional markets every Sunday! Cafes, bars and restaurants are scattered in amongst traditional shops and large sections of the town are pedestrianised. And 8km to the East, towards the beautiful coastline, the Port de Pollensa itself has a fabulous Pine Walk providing spectacular views of the bay, as well as large pedestrianised sections around the area, and there's a huge water sports industry springing up in the shallow waters here – from paddle-boarding to kitesurfing, there's something new to try for everyone!

Top tip: the viewpoint from the Calvario is an absolute must, if you can manage the climb!
