This apartment offers a haven of tranquility in the centre of a major beach resort which offers activities to suit all tastes, keeping everyone happy through day and night. It is a perfect option for couples who seek a peaceful and relaxing holiday, or those who want somewhere quiet to withdraw to when beach life finishes for the day and the cooling evening breeze blows gently from the sea, as you sit on your balcony overlooking the pool. The building contains only about 20 apartments, all privately owned and used by a few permanent residents and second home owners. There is no reception, as there would be with a tour operator complex, but the owner's representative is available 24 hours a day in an emergency.

The apartment stands out because of its stunning views of the beach, sea and dunes. It is situated directly on the quiet section of the beach promenade which stretches from the centre of the resort to the Riu Palace. The building has direct access from the pool and sunbathing area to the beach promenade. This makes it perfect for a lazy evening stroll and perfect for access to the main beach. There are steps along the promenade at various points, some gently sloping. The steps immediately outside the complex gate, lead down to the Custom supermarket and the beach bars and cafes on the beach. So within minutes of leaving your apartment, you can be on the beach or having a meal on the beach or sipping a cool beer at a bar on the beach. After a hot day on the beach, take a dip in the pool beneath your balcony, which is heated by solar panels to ensure a comfortable temperature all year round.

The stunning views mark this lovely apartment out from the rest. Dont expect the photo to do justice to the views. It strikes you from the moment you open the front door. People have commented that it is like having a beautiful picture at the end of the living room, one which constantly changes, as the sky changes colour, casting shadows on the spectacular dunes, some of which reach 30m in height. Watch from the breakfast bar in the kitchen or sitting in the living room, or dining out on your balcony, and towards the end of the day look out for the parachutists landing on the beach in front of the apartment.

The private ownership of the complex means that the large groups of holidaymakers that can ruin your sleep in any of the offerings from the tour operator holiday brochures are not found here. To maintain this atmosphere, and to respect the others who have made this beautiful place their home for that reason, we only look for bookings from guests that will respect the need for quiet after 11pm.

Playa del Ingles
The stretch of this expansive resort bordering the beach promenade has a quiet charm and incredible beauty, which is quite remote from the bustling commercial centres. They provide fun and entertainment for all, but away from that, in this part of the resort, the evenings are peaceful. Without doubt, the apartment is situated in the most picturesque area, in the first line to the beach promenade, allowing the many visitors to wonder at the beauty of the Sahara-like dunes, for which the area is justifiably famous.

The beautiful beach of fine, golden sand has all the facilities you would expect from one of the largest resorts in Europe. (Geographically, Gran Canaria is located off the coast of West Africa, but it is part of Spain.) You can walk for miles and miles along the beach, as some do, from Playa del Ingles to the Lighthouse of Maspalomas, passing the oasis, a special reserve noted for its wildlife. Buses ferry everyone between Maspalomas lighthouse and Playa del Ingles (and other parts of the island) and the service is frequent and reliable.

Gran Canaria
The island will surprise you, if you want it to...

If you want to do nothing more than rest and relax in the pool and on the beach, enjoy a good meal and a drink with entertainment in the evening, then the apartment will be perfect. The main entertainment centres of the Cita and the Yumbo Centres are less than 10 minutes by foot. The Kasbah, Metro and Plaza centres are 10 minutes away. The smaller La Sandia centre is 5 minutes walk, and then there is the long stretch of restaurants, bars (some with live music) and cafes situated on the beach itself, below the beach promenade, so just minutes from the apartment.

But take a bus to Las Palmas, the large capital and cultural centre of the island and you will experience a completely different aspect of the island. Or take a trip into the islands centre. Hire a car, or book a trip on a guided jeep tour with an experienced driver, who will take you up the winding roads to the top of the mountains, experiencing spectacular views. Drive to the west of the island, the rugged and wild side. Or take a boat trip to the south west, to Mogan. Relatively few venture beyond the sun and sand of the resort. And who can blame them - with the incredible microclimate enjoyed by the south-east of the island throughout the year. But those that do venture beyond will find plenty of rewarding sights and experiences.

On payment of the final balance, you will be given the contact details for the local representative and she may recommend an airport transfer service. Alternatively, the airport bus stops near La Sandia. Details for hire of equipment, such as cots, will also be provided after this point upon request. Airport transfers and equipment hire do not form part of the contract with the apartment owner of course and you must pay her or the provider directly. Detailed arrival instructions are sent to you on payment of the final balance. Note that car hire is really not necessary for this apartment, although there is street parking. It is perfectly located to walk to all amenities. Also, taxis are extremely cheap and readily available in the streets, and the public bus network transports everyone efficiently between the main destinations of the island.

The cost of cleaning and laundry is included in the price you pay. So the price includes the cost of cleaning the apartment in preparation for your arrival and laundry (bed linen, bath and hand towels are provided for your use on arrival). If you wish to have maid service, you are able to book as many extra cleans and changes of laundry with the local representative as you wish, subject to availability. We understand that our guests appreciate the flexibility to have more or less of a maid service during their stay. If you wish to take advantage of additional cleaning and laundry services during your stay, you can pay for this locally by contacting the local representative directly in advance of your stay (a special rate of 15 Euros for laundry and 20 Euros for cleaning). A washing machine is also provided in the apartment for your use.

Bookings of 14 nights or more include one free linen and towel change (but not cleaning) in the middle of your stay.

Your local rep will also be available to deal with your queries and to arrange extra cleaning, island tours, etc, during your holiday. Her mobile number is provided after payment for this purpose, but of course please respect her wish that from 8pm to 9am calls should be of an emergency nature only. Our local rep has provided a great service for our clients for many years.

Bookings can now be made for a minimum of 6 nights. Discounts are available for bookings of 14 days or more: where available these discounts are shown separately when you enter the dates selected and produce a quote through the website.

LATE AVAILABILITY DEALS - discounts are available at many times of the year. These are applied automatically when you enter dates and request a quote through the booking system. But don't expect to find many last minute deals as The Beachfront Apartment is a top seller

People are obviously very anxious about who to book with in the wake of the collapse of various package travel companies. Why book with a private owner directly? You deal with the owner as a private individual, not a company. We own two properties for my own use and to rent to guests when we are not using them. We do not depend on the income from these properties. You can speak to us by telephone or ask questions by e-mail (we much prefer e-mail, but we always try to make time to speak to guests who want to speak to us in person). Messages sent through the website are sent to the phone and we try to respond as quickly as possible. Once in Gran Canaria, we have an excellent local rep to look after you and the apartment, who is always on hand to help with any questions and is keen to tell you all about the island.

You can also trust the reviews of those who have stayed at the apartment before you. Please consider taking the time to send a review after your return. The apartment was recently refurbished. The changes include:-
- redecoration throughout
- a new double bed (to replace
the twin beds) with a firm orthopaedic latex mattress (many of you requested a firm mattress in your comments to us)
- a new flat screen LCD TV and a new collection of DVDs for your quiet nights in
- a more comfortable single sofa bed (medium-soft)
- a new bathroom

We were unable to contact the rep by phone for 3 hours on the afternoon of our arrival. The app. was of average standard with marked upholstery on the settee and buffet and the "new" bathroom was of a poor standard and very tiny. We were warned that there was limited hot water and we had to leave 20 mins between showers . The quality of towels and bed linen was poor - very grubby colours and sheets were rough to lie on. However the place was very clean and orderly and the provision for cooking and eating was good although the crockery was a miscellany and none matched which I would have expected. We had especially enquired about steps and were told that there were "a few" up to the apartment and four onto the promenade and beach. We made it clear when booking that this was important to us, as I need a wheelchair for distances and become breathless climbing stairs. There are 14 steps from the road down onto the property and a further 16 up to the apartment. There are 4 steps up to the beach promenade and then 86 onto the beach. Nowhere along the coast is there beach access for wheel chairs. It would have been much more accurate to just put a warning on the advert that this accommodation is totally unsuitable for those with walking disabilities. We made the most out of our facilities and our time in the sun and did come home rested. However we were very limited by the accommodation and the part of Gran Canarias in which we found ourselves despite having hired a car for the two weeks.
Owner reply:

Dear Mr Mantle,I rarely exercise a right to reply to reviews. You and other visitors to the site will see that we have excellent reviews and your comments are not consistent with those of others. It is regrettable that you have chosen to misrepresent what has happened and misdescribed the apartment in your review. However, I must point out for the benefit of others the mistakes you have made.First, you failed to follow the arrival instructions. These instructions are clear and no one else has experienced any problems in arranging to meet the rep at the property. I was called by my rep on the day of your arrival as she was waiting inside the property for several hours, constantly checking her mobile and waiting for your call or for the door bell to ring. You failed to call her. Instead you waited outside the property without even ringing the door bell once. This mistake was yours alone, so it is disappointing that you seek to place blame on my rep for something which was plainly your fault.Second, the standard of the apartment and equipment. The photos and reviews give a fair description of the apartment. All upholstery is regularly cleaned; and quality linen and towels regularly replaced. The bathroom has been completely refurbished recently with high quality fittings, and in no way could be described as poor. We have received favourable feedback from our regular guests on the bathroom. We removed the bath and replaced it with a walk in shower as many of our regular guests have mobility issues and expressed a preference for this. Crockery sets are regularly added, but we do not throw away old sets for the sake of it. There is enough matching crockery for all guests, with extra left if you need it.Third, access. This property is advertised expressly as not being suitable for disabled persons. I am often asked questions about steps and go to great lengths when asked to describe the steps, and breadth of the stairs. There is also disabled ramp access to the beach just five minutes from the front gate. I also explain that taxis circle in the street and it costs only 2.50 euros to go to most parts of the resort, including the beach. But of course most people simply walk down the steps from the beach promenade. You did not tell me that you were in a wheelchair. Had you done so, I would have advised you not to book an apartment which you knew was on the first floor and which has no lift. I spent a reasonable time in answering enquiries for you before booking, and it is disappointing that you have chosen to leave a review which is in my view unfair.Ian

The apartment is superbly located for the beach, the dunes and the beachfront promenade. The promenade houses dozens of bars, restaurants and shops and there are supermarkets within easy walking distance. Facilities within the apartment are good-TV, DVD player and cooking facilities. The balcony is big enough for two and gets the sun from 10.30 through to late afternoon. The apartment is a good size for a couple with a reasonable sized bedroom which has plenty of storage space. The king-sized double bed is firm. Four people COULD share the apartment but would have to be good friends!

We spent ten days at this apartment the apartment was really nice, the location was excellent, the views were spectacular. Dealing with the owner, Ian was a pleasure both Steve and Lynda (the contacts in Gran Canaria) were very helpful and often at short notice, thank you both! Had a pleasurable time and would definitely recommend this apartment. I hope to return again soon. Many thanks.

We have visited Playa Del Inglis on 5 occasions over the past 4 years and can safely say that this is the best apartment/villa we have ever stayed in. It is unnecessary to state what is there as it is exactly as described. The only thing understated is the view which is truly magnificent. Nothing was too much trouble for the managers (Lynda & Steve) who even booked us a Limo back to the airport.

Weve just returned from a weeks holiday at the apartment and cant recommend it enough! Lynda was there at the end of the phone when we arrived, and Steve provided us with a warm welcome at the apartment, running through everything we needed to know. The apartment was spotless and had all the amenities we could need, including plenty of bedding, a hairdryer, washing machine, fans, and a vast selec tion of dvds, books and information leaflets. The view from the balcony was spectacular! We could hear the waves breaking at night and woke up each morning to an ever changing view of the dunes. The weather all week was great (end of May) and we had the pool to ourselves which was brilliant, and not too cold thanks to solar panelled heating. It was also cleaned every day and had plenty of sunbeds and large umbrellas. The apartment is set in a very quiet area close to the beachfront which had some great restaurants, shops, supermarkets, and plenty of sunbeds (about 7 euros for two sunbeds with an umbrella). And after a day in the sun it was great to come back to a cool apartment (didnt need to use the fans at all). The Yumbo centre is nearby and has many shops and bars, and also a place to access the internet or printer incase, like us, you need to print off travel docs. We would recommend taking a bus to explore the island..there are stops and a useful information centre with timetables just by the centre. And a trip to Maspolomas or the beautiful town of Puerto de Mogan is highly recommended, as well as making a return on one of the glass bottomed boats! Overall the apartment is in an excellent location, spotlessly clean and and has everything you need to have a great holiday..a big thank you to Lynda and Steve, and we would definietly come back!

From the location to the other holiday makers using this complex I cannot stress enough how fab this appartment was!. Right on the promenade with fantastic views across the dunes, the photos do not do this place justice. Very easy to find our way around, as a youngcouple we were looking for something very relaxed and dare i say it lazy?, to enjoy each others company and recharge the old batteries. the only noise around this villa was rhe heavy breathing of the runneers along the promenade or the gentle lapping of the pool when someone takes a wee dip. Although i said we were looking for something relaxing, the main night spots Yumbo amd Kasbah were only a 10 min walk away which were ideal for a cheeky wee night out with other like minded people. Overall we had a great time, the weather wasnt as hot as i have experienced in previous years however, jump on the bus and 15mins round the corner your in Puerto Rico and away from the wind on a sun lounger and the sun beating down on you. we will definitley be booking this apartment again for next years holiday! thank you so much Linda, shame we couldnt have stayed longer Simone and Jamie xx

Weve just returned from our 10 days/9 night stay at El Dragona and was very pleased with our apartment rental. Ian (the owner) & Lynda (the local rep) was very prompt in answering all our queries and helpful in suggesting interesting places to visit, restaurants and things to do. Steve came over within 10 minutes after our first query about the cleanliness and hot water issue we had. The apartment was furnished with a comfortable bed, lots of pillows and the day bed (not sofa bed) was helpful as our 2.5 year old son slept on that in our room. The bathroom shower area (especially the dark dirty corners) needed a good scrub down upon our arrival and I cleaned it myself as it just did not feel clean enough for us. The hot water tank is quite small and the water pressure is not great. We had to limit ourselves to a 2-3 minute shower each as the hot water runs out within minutes. The shower area kept leaking out to the bathroom area and this definitely can be improved on the next renovation project. Overall, the apartment was well maintained but a professional clean in between guest visits are a must. The kitchen area had left-over greasy areas when we arrived and the back of the washing machine was very dusty and dirty. The location of the apartment was fantastic and a short walk down the stairs to Playa del Ingles (one of the best beaches weve seen in Gran Canaria). The washing machine came in handy as we could wash and dry our clothes out on the balcony drying rack. We would definitely return again if the apartment cleanliness is improved. p.s. if youre looking for a good breakfast spot, Shortys Beach Club was fantastic! They served the best croissants on the island and the best coffee/espresso and fresh squeezed orange juice. Eggs were prepared perfectly and that was our go-to place for our morning breakfast overlooking the gorgeous beach/sea. It was on route to the beach and opens at 9am.

The standard of the accommodation was poor. For the prices levied the apartment should be upgraded in terms of furnishings, equipment, TV and cooking facilities. On a positive note the Owners representatives were most helpful and accommodating.

Must say we were a little concerned after reading one of the reviews but had no need to worry, it was clean, cosy and had a view that we still talk about. The location is perfect, beautiful promenade just outside the property, supermarket just behind and the beach with its sand dunes and restaurants to suit all pockets. We also caught the local bus, No66 from the Airport to Playa del Ingles and the apartment was a short walk from the Cita Centre, this info was helped by Linda who looks after the property. We would definitely like to return. Suzanne and Mark Gosport, Hampshire

I stayed at the apartment in May 2013 and can thoroughly recommend it. The apartment was modern and clean with excellent facilities. The location was great, with amazing views out onto the dunes. The local rep Lynda was excellent and recommended some great things to do in the area. Would definitely stay there again.

What a lovely little gem of a place in a fab location. We booked a last minute long weekend to escape the British snow. We were met by Steve who showed us around the apartment. It had everything we needed - especially the view of the sand dunes. The pool area is great. Take your cushion down from the apartment and collect a sunbed from the pile. Take it all back at the end of the day. The whole complex is kept meticulously clean by the pool man and the residents, who are mainly German and very friendly. The supermarket is less than 5 mins walk away. Linda was really helpful and made some great recommendations. All in all, a great stay.

Very cosy and clean. Feels like a a home away from home. The view is great. Pool and generally the property is kept clean, garden looks nice and everything is well maintained. Literally a straight walk to the beach. But need to go down stairs and cross car park. Not a problem as you can stop at spar to buy some drink/food and lie on the beach the whole day. Local beach "hamacas" a bit dated - but price is good and is very pleasant. The area has allot of German and Swedish tourists. So locals use signs in German and speak better German than English. Holiday was 8/10
Owner reply:

Thanks Piotr - glad you found the apartment very cosy and clean and enjoyed the fantastic views. We hope to welcome you back again soon.regardsIan

Apartment was clean and tidy and had everything that we needed. Although it has no air conditioning it stayed relatively cool day and night. It is very well positioned for the beach, restaurant options and supermarkets and was also very quiet at night. We had a great holiday staying here.

Thoroughly enjoyed our week at Ians apartment in Playa del Ingles. The apartment was exactly as described on the website (hence found I couldnt say it exceeded expectations - but it did entirely match our high expectations). In early February the balcony was a great place to be - sunny from 11am to 5pm and the wall to the east protected it totally from the wind. We had a couple of very windy but sunny days when we were sitting in our swinwear on the balcony watching people on the coastal path in front battle along in their fleeces, cagools and hats and also the sandstorms whipping across the dunes. Other than these days though the weather was sunny and warm and we really enjoyed touring the island in the afternoons and evenings. The location of the apartment is great and although there are 90 steps down from the coastal path to the beach car park and the restaurants below, there is an alternative set of steps with a ramp albeit rather steep a hundred metres or so to the right. There is a supermarket and restuarant development a short walk behind, and the Yumbo Centre is about 15 minutes relatively leisurely (and comparatively flat) stroll. This means there are literally hundreds of restaurants and bars of all specialities within a short walk. We did however enjoy preparing our own breakfast and lunch in the apartment. Linda and Steve were most welcoming hosts, awaiting our arrival and seeing us off to the airport. The apartment had been very well cleaned (despite the previous occupants leaving it in a bit of a state and damaging some of the cooking equipment - replaced while we were there) and we had no other maintenance issues. We also appreciated the items left by Linda and Steve (such as bottled water, milk, teas and coffee etc) to help get us get established. This was our first visit to Gran Canaria and all in all we wouldnt wished to stay anywhere else in Playa del Ingles. Highly recommended!

Our third stay in this small but perfectly placed apartment. Its all about the location for this property and it doesnt disappoint. Away from the main tourist resorts but close enough to walk anywhere in Playa del Ingles - and the views from the balcony are wonderful. The apartment complex is quiet and respectful of others which adds to a really relaxing holiday. Thanks again to the owner Ian, and Lynda and her husband who manage the property out there - we wouldnt come to Gran Canaria and stay anywhere else.

Excellent location with nice long beach walks both left and right of the apartment. Close to restaurants and shops too. Apartment was clean, tidy and well equipped - a hair dryer would have been useful for the wife. Would have rated higher if the balcony was larger and sunnier.

We booked this apartment against others for two reasons: the view and the equipment as described on the site. For this we were prepared to pay a higher price than for competing properties. However, on arrival we were disappointed by the equipment. The "cooker" turned out to be a four-burner hob. The reference to a "freezer" seemed to be to an ice-making compartment of the fridge, which we had to defrost since it didnt close properly. Less importantly, the "clothes drier" was not an electric machine but a portable clothes horse - not a problem in the Canaries climate, but not what we normally understand by a "drier". This all reflected fittings that were a little defective. The extractor fan over the hob was not working, nor was the one in the bathroom. The excellent security grille onto the balcony could not close properly because the lock needed attention. A light bulb was missing from the central light fitting in the sitting-room. There was a smell of drains intermittently from the bathroom. As a result, we had a slight feeling of being ripped off. This was perhaps enhanced by the fact that the towels we were given on arrival appeared so stained that we had to rewash them immediately, and that when we pointed things out to Steve, the agents husband (we never saw Lynda) he simply said "I dont know" and was clearly not going to do anything. A pity, since the apartment itself is nice and the location excellent. The clothes storage in the bedroom is good and the block itself attractive. Just brush up your German!
Owner reply:

Antony,Im pleased that you liked the apartment and thought the location was excellent. This is the first negative review Ive had in four years of renting the property. I have replied in more detail, but have to respond on here as your review is rather misleading. As explained, my excellent local rep was forced to fly to the UK shortly before your arrival due to a sudden family bereavement. I immediately arranged cover for your stay and my reps husband stayed behind in Gran Canaria to ensure that you had rep service during this difficult time. The security gate was fixed immediately afterwards, and the opportunity was taken to effect a number of repairs. As for the description of the equipment, the website is created by answering a series of tick box questions and everything was as described. I note that you paid a rate of £14 per person per night for the property and whilst you may have found a slightly cheaper rate in noisier parts of Playa del Ingles, I am confident you would not find a cheaper rate for an apartment with a fine sea view. I hope you understand that we worked hard behind the scenes in difficult circumstances to ensure your holiday was not disrupted. Regards, Ian (the owner)

Absolutely stunning views from Balcony and excellent quiet location though only short walks to all the major centres (Yumbo, Kasbah, Cita etc) and a very short walk (though a lot of steps) to the front with all its Cafes and Bars. This is our 4th time on the Island and this has definitely been the best location by far. The apartment has everything you could need including a good sized fridge and a washing machine (a godsend after a day of off road buggying!). One note - the hot water tank is relatively small and although enough for two quick showers if you let her go in first its worth waiting 15-20mins to let the water heat up again! Would highly recommend this apartment and we will be looking to book again when we come back.

Having visited Playa del Ingles many times and stayed in noisey mulii-storey blocks this was a refreshing change. Very quiet but also in a very convenient location. The facilities in the apartment are excellent. Very comfortable double bed and a washing machine was a godsend! Excellent service from local representative too. No review would be complete without a mention of the views: Absolutely fantaqstic

The view of the dunes from the apartment balcony is exceptional. As a previous reviewer said, this is probably one of the better apartments in the resort, which is a little dated and predominantly German.

It must be one of the better appartments to rent in Playa Inglese. They should, though consider changing the name. Playa Alemania would be more correct. Excellent location. The appartment has got all, that we needed. We didn't use the swimming pool much, but went to the beach. All the neighbours were friendly and helpfull germans. And nothing can beat the weather, we will surely be back.

Thanks Poul-Erik - glad to hear you had such a great holiday and look forward to welcoming you back again.Regards,Ian

The apartment was beautiful with all the amenities required for a great holiday ( washing machine was a god send) The views were the best ive seen, and it was like opening the doors to the Sahara desert each moring. The location was superb, about a 5 min walk from the promanade. Theres a shop about 2 mins from the apartment, but its steep walk downstairs (u'll get used to them) Theres a new restaurant, which opened about 2 weeks before we got there next to the shop called "il diavolo", its italian and the food is lovely. We ate there about 5 or 6 times, and we were lucky that our fave restaurant of all was on our door step! Would definately return to the apartment!
Owner reply:

Thanks very much Louise. Glad to hear the new restaurant on the beachfront was your favourite. Regards, Ian

I stayed at the apt back in March. All of the reviews here are quite accurate. Being by the water and sand dunes, but close enough to the action, is what really makes it so attractive. A well appointed, quiet place. You could not ask for more!
Owner reply:

Very kind of you to log in to add your review and good to hear from you. Look forward to welcoming you from California in the near future. Regards, Ian

I had a really fantastic holiday, the weather was very good. The position of the apartment is very good as the beach is very close and so the supermarket. The pool in the residence has been very relaxing as no many people were about. The apartment is basic and clean. The arrangments with Vicky and the agent was good and they have been very helpful. Thank you we had a Great holiday!! Lorena
Owner reply:

Thanks for your review, Lorena. Like yourself, a lot of guests seem to like the fact that sometimes you seem to have the pool and complex to yourself. Regards, Ian

The property was very clean and nicely furnished with plenty of hot water for showers plus a fan in the bedroom which made it comfortable in the heat of October. We had a great holiday and the entertainment at the bars was great fun as they had tribute bands every night at the Roma Bar. We spent our days on the beach as it was too hot to stay by the pool and the comfort from home to home made it very relaxing for us. We loved it so much and now prefer self catering rather than a 5 star hotel as you can dress casually all the time and this apartment did all this for us. We loved it so much that we are booking again for October next year.

Excellent location and the view was the best. The wasing machine was suberb and there were all the amenities required for a great holiday. Very good service from local representative, thanks to Lynda. Suitable for couples. We were 3 women over 50 and still friends after two weeks although I think it was a little too small for us, we were missing own beds for everyone. The dblbed in bedroom was very very good to sleep but the sofabed unfortunately was not so goog to sleep for 2 weeks. The sofa creaks and groans still every time it is sat on and sleep on. However we loved this place with all the amenities required for a great holiday. Thank you we had a Great holiday!! Brgds Soili

We stayed at the apartment for ten days in February 2007 and were lucky to hit unbroken sunshine after a spell of bad weather. The apartment is well situated for a beach holiday, a few minutes (steep) walk to Maspolomas Sands, with a small but well-maintained pool/garden and a small (again) balcony enjoying full sun from 11 - 5 at this time of year and wonderful views to the Sands. The other apartments were all apparently occupied by elderly Germans: not a problem but worth bearing in mind and a splendid opportunity to practise German. The same applies to Playa del Ingles as a whole. Internally the apartment is well appointed, with a good wireless and DVD player. The TV offers Sky/CNN News but no other English language channels. It is well situated for shops, restaurants, with good street parking. The nearest bus stop is about 7 minutes walk distant.
Owner reply:

Thanks for the review, Robert. We look forward to welcoming you and all our other previous guests again soon. Regards, Ian

The location of the property is excellent and views -amazing!I think the flat is perfect for 2 adults, not for 3 . The sofabed in the lounge is not suitable for sleeping and whoever has to sleep on it will end up waking up during the night (as the sofa creaks and groans) and feeling tired in the morning. The beach is a short walk and the nearest supermarket is only 5 minutes walk. Also both Yumbo and Cita centers are very close.
What can I say other than the holiday we had in January 2013 was fantastic due to the apartment with its location to the beach being front line. The welcome and service was first class, which made our stay evan more better and would recomend this apartment to anyone who is looking for a relaxing place to stay. The apartment was very clean with the standard of equipment and bedding first class. The pool & gardens were kept clean & maintained to a very high standard, given the location close to the beach with the sand that gets blown around from the wind, however this was not a problem with the apartment being sheltered from the wind making sun bathing from 11am till 5pm on the balcany every day, which was an added bonus not having to hire sun beds on the beach at 7 euros for two with sun shade. There are two supermarkets less than 5mins walk that supply everything you need including fress meat, veg, bread etc. The Yumbo centre is within 15mins strool with lots of bars & entertainment within 5mins walk away. The view of the sand dunes was first class and very easy to access the beach area from the steeps just outside the gardens at the front of the apartment complex, which is small & exclusive due to the location, making this apartment one of the best we have had in many years of holidaying at this time of the year.
Very enjoyable stay at this apartment last week. Amazing views all day and night. Cozy, clean and everything you need is there. Would definitely return next January but it is already booked! Thank you Steve and LInda for a nice welcome and Steve for looking after our luggage after we had checked out to let us go for some brunch. Slainte!
Excellent location and accomodation. Friendly residents in adjoining apartments. We had no issues and a very comfortable stay. Lynda was very helpful with advice on the area. Washing machine was a great bonus, no piles of laundry on return to UK. Lots of storage space. Would recommend highly.
Owner reply:

Derek, Thanks for the recommendation. We are pleased that you found the location and accommodation to be excellent and hope you stay with us again.regardsIan

Ideally located for all amenities. Comfortable accommodation, only negative comments would be that the locks on both inner and outer patio doors need attention (dont lock securely and the outer one difficult to drag across) and a fan would have been welcome in the living area ( I had asked about one with Linda in an earlier email), other than that very pleasant.
Owner reply:

David,Thanks for the positive comments - we are glad you found the accommodation comfortable and well located. We are sorry that the fan was not supplied on arrival - but our reps pride themselves on responding to calls promptly (just call the local rep's mobile number given with the arrival instructions and you will get a very quick response, save that we ask that after 8pm this number is used for emergencies only to respect their privacy). We have recently purchased a new fan which will be made available on request). As you will have noticed we have installed a ceiling fan in the bedroom which works at three different speeds and keeps it cool if we get Sahara like temperatures! As for the doors - it's rather important to us to state that these were checked immediately after your comments and we take the issue of security very seriously (and of course we stay there ourselves - it is our second home so we would not leave doors needing attention. The balcony doors are shown in the photos. For security we have not just one but two - even though we are on the first floor, not the ground floor, so access from the balcony would be very unlikely anyway. The internal (glass lattice) set of doors are lighter and move easily. The outer set of doors are (for security) heavy metal doors (also lattice, matching the inner doors but without glass). Both have unusual Canarian style locks (found all over the island) which are demonstrated to you on arrival. But we can assure you they work perfectly and are completely secure. The outer doors are heavy by their nature, but we usually leave WD40 under the sink (or ask the reps) which will help if there is a Kalima (when the breeze blows in from the Sahara and a little sand may cause the doors to become heavier during your stay).Kind regardsIan

Absolutely brilliant. Superb view, well kitted out, cool, overlooks pool , quiet and beach 5 mins to restaurants and beech, 10 into town. Would go again like a shot. The complex is very popular with Germans who seem to look after the pool, plants and enforce rigorous poolside etiquette so scuzzy brits like us may get a talking to............ Seriously though very nice place.
Just returned from two weeks in apt.excellent location to beach and good access to prom.apt as described.excellent views of sand dunes! stunning views to wake up to!! Shops close by and jumbo centre 10 min walk.excellent communication with Lynda and Steve.arranged private transfer recommended by Lynda, I think Steve said it was his sons company. Met at the airport with a limousine, very nice driver friendly and chatty.highly recommend using the company. Steve met us at the apt, very friendly and helpful. Lynda always only a phone call amazing this time of year. New bathroom was to be installed and new cutlery as I remember Steve stating on our departure, needs the cutlery and a fan for the living area, found out on departure one was available, so i wish se had asked, didnt disrupt us being without though.Nice quiet safe area, great security .21 apt residential block with no one to bother you, make a world of difference. Apt clean, spacious ,comfy,. Good size balcony. Apart from the two elderly residents who dipped in the pool twice daily for 10minutes, we had the pool to ourselves for the two weeks , heated pool excellent. Very nice caretaker keeps pool and areas spotless. 10th year to g/c, shall return next year. Steve saw us off at the apt, which i think is a nice touch to the end of your holiday.Highly recommend the apartment . We shall be booking up again for this apt. Thanks to Steve and Lynda. See you next year.!!
had a wonderful time in playa the apartment was just in the right place handy for beach, bars, shops and some good walks would not hesitate to recomend it to any one. peace and quite but handy for night life we will be going again thanks to lynda for looking after us.367367
The apartment was as we expected. It is in a superb location. Close to the beach and to the Jumbo Centre but far enough to make the location quiet and relaxing. The swimming pool was clean and most of the time we could have had it for ourselves. The descriptions in the advertisement were accurate. We had all the required facilities plus lots of books to read and DVDs to watch (although we did not have time to watch TV at all). We can summarise the holidays were very relaxing and enjoyeable. If we had one critisism we would say that the apartment could do with a slightly deeper cleaning of the kitchen and batchroom between lettings. We have already recommended the apartment to several friends and we will continue to do so.
the property was good overall with a range of usefull items from a tv ,dvd , cd / radio , iron and board . the best thing for us was the view from the property as you wake in the morning , you could see the dunes and feel the sea breeze and it only takes 5 minuets to walk to the beach .
Great value, great location...easy to walk to the town and the Yumbo centre as well as to the beach and the dunes. The steps down to the beach are quite steep but I think thats made clear by the ad and it wasnt a problem at all for us. A lovely apartment with all the facilities two people would need, and a lovely resort.
From previous visits to GC I would rate this as one of the best of its type, and superior to most, in its location, the standard and quality of its furnishing and equipment, house-keeping and the welcome on arrival. Basically everything you are likely to need. Like most others it is not spacious – 2 large & 1 small at most: 3 large rugby types definitely not! The fantastic view of the dunes and beach shown in the pics are as good in reality – but take note of the many steps that need to be negotiated to get down/up. Pool and surrounds OK, and protected from the wind. NB No direct sunshine on balcony in summer. You burn in the shade then anyway!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and the property met with our expectations. The people there were friendly although it was perhaps a bit too quiet for us. Very easy access to the beach and a stunning view of the sea and dunes. There is not a great deal of space to sunbathe around the pool and if it was busy I would imagine this could be an issue. Overall we were very happy.
Excellent, enjoyed our stay very much. Only negative would be that the towels have seen better days, and some definately need replacing. Lynda and Steve look after the apartment very well.
Well situated, nice view, steps to beach a bit daunting. Overhead fan would be useful as it gets very hot and bedroom needs ventilation. Very clean and Lynda and Steve helpful. TV impossible to understand. The safe is essential bur suggest you change the code from time to time as the keypad is worn through constant repetition. N.B. The gate/sliding door locks are worn and easily opened by gentle tugging.Suggest you replace both door and gate.
Owner reply:

Thanks, David, glad you had a good holiday. There are full TV instructions available in the apartment, but Lynda will always help out with any queries. I should point out for the benefit of others that there are two sets of sliding doors to the balcony: one set of metal security doors, which is very secure and the other set of glass doors, to which you refer (which has been repaired). As for the steps, a good tip if you dont want to use the steps immediately in front of the apartment to come back from the beach is to use the disabled access ramps up to the promenade, located a a couple of minutes further along the promenade. Regards, Ian

Would definitely book here again. Great view, easy access to everything we needed, and the agent was prompt and helpful. Big plus, the washer in the apartment.
Owner reply:

Thanks - glad to welcome another guest from North America and hope to welcome you back soon.Regards, Ian

Apartment was exactly what we expected. It was in a very central position for both the beach and the various commercial centres. Secure entry was very reassuring but there was absolutely no disturbances or bother anywhere around the apartment while we were there. The views are stunning and we had a week of cloudless skies which was the icing on the cake. Would definitely return, as it was very good value for money.
Owner reply:

Thanks Quentin. Lots of guests find it surprising that the location is so quiet, yet within a short walk of all amenities and directly on the beach. We do hope to welcome you back soon.Regards, Ian

We enjoyed our stay very much, and whilst being small the apartment has everything you need, and the description on the website is very accurate. The complex is very secure, and the swimming pool very ‘refreshing’ !!! Whilst we were there the electric went in our apartment, but it was dealt with very efficiently by the agent Lynda, and the owner (this was on a Sunday night too) - which was very reassuring.
Ideal property for a couple wanting a relaxing time. Superb views out of apartment over balcony to Dunes and sea. The water in the pool is warmed by solar panels and there is a washer in the apartment, both nice touches. Fellow residents mainly German all very talkative and friendly. Had a super break!
The location of this property is perfect, the view from the balcony is just beautiful, it is peacefull and quiet just as it was advertised. The ameneties were good, however, there were a couple of things that need attention Ian. The sofa creeks and groans every time it is sat on and is not comfortable (needs replacement). In your write up it was quoted that there was dvd and cd playing facilities so we brought some cds, only to find that there was no cd playing apparatus and when trying to use DVDs the sound on the television simply dissappeared. I hope you will regard this as constructive critisism because dispite this we had a wonderful holiday and loved the apartment. Kindest regards, Terry & Doreen England
Owner reply:

Thanks for your comments, Terence. I'm glad to hear you loved the apartment and the views from the balcony. I will take account of your helpful comments. As for the DVD, the Scart cable at the back of the DVD player needed tightening and CDs can be played in the DVD player.

A lovely apartment in a fantastic location, close to amenities (Shopping centres and beach areas), yet in a very quiet residential cul-de-sac. Views out over the dunes are spectacular. Most residents in this small complex appear to be permanent, so there is a neighbourly feel to the place. Security is good with a locked gate into the grounds. Pleasant balcony gets afternoon sun. Pool is lovely and very quiet. Didn't have to share with anyone at all during our stay. Felt like our own place!
Owner reply:

Thanks Rich - glad you enjoyed your stay and got plenty of winter sunshine. Regards, Ian

About the owner
I have owned and rented two properties through this website for many years and the properties have proved very popular. The properties are second homes and are treated and furnished as such, but with an eye to being practical for our guests, so that they can enjoy their holiday with some home comforts, like DVDs and CDs. Central to the provision of a great holiday is a great local representative and we are fortunate to have two excellent local property managers. You always have access to the owner by email in any event. All emails are notified to me by text message through the system and I try to respond as soon as I reasonably can. This means a more prompt reply is usually provided than it would be if you were booking with a large company. We are not renting the properties to build a big business, but to cover expenses, which is more difficult to achieve than most people imagine. I am a lawyer and work rather long hours, but I am usually able to respond to emails quickly, albeit often late in the day. I have done my best to provide all the information you need on the website, so do try to look for an answer there before asking a question. Don't forget that people make bookings 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so if in doubt reserve the dates you want (without obligation), and ask a question when making your booking reservation. This gives you a day or so to sort out flights and get answers to any questions you could not find answers to on the website.
