Casa las Anclas is situated in the heart of Playa Blanca, 50 metres from the promenade, less than two minutes walk from the nearest beach and placed just moments away from a wide range of excellent shops and restaurants. This includes the excellent cafe situated below, which provides good value English meals and a nice friendly atmosphere. This apartment is ideal for a really relaxing Playa Blanca holiday. Its superb location means any walking you do will be completely of your own choice and hire of a car is unnecessary unless you want to visit other locations on the island. It is ideal for families, couples or two couples holidaying together.
The apartment is extremely well equipped. It has one double bedroom and one twin bedded room, accommodating 4 people. There is also a Z-bed bed and a travel cot available. The apartment has terrestrial and satellite TV/radio and DVD, together with a selection of films, CDs and games for guests use. Wifi/internet is also provided. The lounge and each bedroom have ceiling fans and the double bedroom has a coin-operated air-conditioning unit. The kitchen is fully equipped. The French widows open onto a balcony, which has virtually all day sunshine and offers a view onto the fascinating Calle Limones; a great vantage point for relaxation and a spell of people-watching. The apartment offers superb views from its large roof terrace, which also includes a barbecue, table and chairs, and 4 sunbeds.
The apartment is professionally managed and maintained. All linen and towels are provided, including beach towels.
Smokers are welcome to smoke on the roof terrace or on the balcony.
Casa las Anclas is ideal for a couple wanting to take a relaxing and romantic break, or for a family with younger children looking for safe beaches served by shops and restaurants. Sensibly priced, it can help to provide a cheap holiday and possibly the best value for money apartment Playa Blanca can offer.
Please note that while we have done everything possible to provide for a comfortable stay in Casa las Anclas, there are things outside our control that may affect you during your holiday.
The continuity of supply of water and electricity is not as you may be accustomed to in the UK or Ireland. The supply is occasionally turned off for periods of time by the water/electricity companies, usually to do with maintenance of the system, and there is often no notification.
Whilst the apartment is quiet considering its location, it is nevertheless in the town centre and shouldn’t be expected to be quiet to the same extent as a villa in a community on the fringes of the town, or in a nearby village. The street is pedestrianised and so traffic is not an issue, but there is a café below, with a licence for playing recorded music; and people sit outside the café and therefore below the apartment balcony during the day and evening. Because of the simple construction of the buildings in the Canaries, you may hear the neighbours at the sides and below from time to time. We expect all these neighbours to respect your needs (as much as the converse) but ultimately we can’t control them.
If you encounter the odd insect, it isn’t a reflection on the cleaning or maintenance of the apartment, it is just the consequence of a different climate. Mosquitos are not usually a problem in Lanzarote, which doesn’t have the moist ground that they live in, but again you may encounter the odd one.
Playa Blanca and Lanzarote
Lanzarote has many interesting attractions for such a small island. A visit to the Timanfaya National Park is a must for first-time visitors. Playa Blanca is a beautiful and relaxed resort with a delightful promenade, interesting shops and superb restaurants. Evening entertainment is available for those who like to spend pleasant relaxing evenings rather than expend lots of energy. The Canary Island climate is ideal for both Winter and Summer holidays. Winter daytime temperatures average about 20 degrees and summer temperatures about 30. Typically there is an accompanying light breeze that makes every day feel pleasant and comfortable. Annual rainfall is approximately 4 inches.
Playa Blanca offers great opportunity for those interested in a DIVING holiday. Beginners can take advantage of the local diving schools that provide both equipment and instruction. Lanzarote is a popular island for CYCLING and bicycles can be hired locally. If you like to RUN or jog, then the Playa Blanca promenade is an ideal route. There are two very pleasant GOLF courses on the island, approximately 25, and 40 minutes drive away. There is a pool available at Marina Rubicon, about 25 minutes walk, that is available for SWIMMING or just general lounging and sunbathing. Payment at the Captain's office. You can also use the pool at the Iberostar hotel, pay at reception.
We stayed for two weeks 1st-15th October and the weather was wonderful. Our first experience of Casa las Anclas was an unqualified success. The apartment was clean and provided all the home comforts that we could expect. It is located in town, near to the restaurants, yet is quiet during the late evening and through the night. A home from home.
Thanks also to Tony and Sandra for replacing a fan during our stay, all dealt with very efficiently and without fuss.
I would not hesitate to recommend the apartment to my friends.

This apartment was everything we hoped for and more - right in the centre of playa blanca but very quiet and relaxed. Only a few minutes stroll to the beautiful dorada beach and lots of lovely restaurants. Have already checked out availability for next year - will definately be back!

The apartment is in an excellent position and the sun roof was ideal and a real "sun trap". Had some noise from the shop next door to Cafe 34 as they were just setting up and were drilling at 11.30 p.m. (they stopped when my husband went down to tell them they were disturbing us) - they were polite but the noise and drilling continued throughout the holiday albeit not after 11.30 p.m.
We love Playa Blanca and will certainly go again in the near future even though we found this year that it was very expensive. I dont think I found anything in the supermarkets cheaper than England with the possible exception of wine. We used the Cervantes Restaurant which we found very good value considering the cost of food.
To sum up, the apartment is excellent value particularly for a family and is well situated and will be very quiet once again now the new shop below has opened. We would recommend to our family and friends without hesitation both Playa Blanca and Casa Las Anclas for an excellent holiday.

We stayed here for two weeks and really enjoyed it. Location was great and central to everything. Apartment was very clean and equipped with all you require. A free bottle of wine and water in the fridge freezer was a nice suprise as was a courtesy visit from Sandra on day 2 to ask if there were any problems. If you are going here, use Johns taxi driver as he is a lot cheaper and knows where he is going. We totally agree with all previous comments regarding the apartment and its location. The only downside was that we found Playa Blanca very expensive and this was made worse by the poor exchange rate. If you fly with Globespan make sure you include your hand luggage in your allowance, (they weigh it on your return journey).
I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did and a big thanks to John for letting us use the apartment.

A most comfortable, well equipped and brilliantly positioned apartment.
The balcony was excellent and a very interesting position with always something to see while enjoying refreshments.
The sun roof was great with everything you needed to enjoy your relaxing moments and a great view of the new marina.
Very well maintained and well managed locally.
Will definately try to book this apartment on our next visit to Playa Blanca.

This apartment is in a perfect location, close to all the amenities and beaches. We found it to be very well equipped and we were very comfortable. The owners were very helpful in making sure that we had everything we needed before we went and the apartment managers helped us on a number of occasions while we were in Playa Blanca. Playa Blanca itself is a gem. Really interesting and very relaxing. It has lots of super restaurants and the beaches are lovely. We intend to return there and to stay at Casa las Anclas if at all possible. Thank you. Andy and Elaine.
We have stayed here twice before and we are looking forward to our third visit in the near future. We love the apartment. It is really well equipped and is in a super location in the town centre. And it is surprisingly quiet for its central location. You can walk to the Playa Blanca beach in less than two minutes, and all the shops and restaurants are on the doorstep. The roof terrace is great for barbecues and sun lounging, but sitting on the balcony watching people in the (pedestrianised) street below is one of our favourite relaxing holiday activities! Playa Blanca is lovely. We love walking along the promenade, stopping at the cafes and little shops. There are some really good value restaurants and the supermarkets mean you can cater for yourself quite cheaply. Great value for money and much better than a package. Paul.
The apartment is a super location for a really relaxing holiday. It is extremely convenient for all the local shops and restaurants and also very close to the promenade and beach. Despite its central location it is extremely quiet so it really gives the best of both worlds. We found it very well equipped and clean. We hope to return again soon.
The apartment is extremely well equipped. It has a double bedroom and twin bedroom, and with a Z bed in the lounge it offers flexible sleeping for up to 5. The apartment has TV and a DVD together with a selection of films, CDs and games for guests use. The lounge and each bedroom have ceiling fans and flor fans are also provided. The kitchen is fully equipped. The French widows open onto a balcony, which has virtually all day sunshine and offers a view onto the fascinating Calle Limones a great vantage point for relaxation and a spell of people-watching. The apartment offers superb views from its large roof terrace, which also includes a barbecue, table and chairs.
