Villa overview - owner's description
Everything about Casa Vista Roqueta oozes quality, completely re-modelled and refurbished to a high specification, the house sits in a quintessential location just outside the town of Petra and close to Manacor, which is in the other direction. A charming stone property with a seamless blend of old and new with the original, centuries old, farmhouse stylishly renovated and very sympathetically extended to provide extremely comfortable and roomy living space. The eye-catching, a noticeable marriage of contemporary furnishings and traditional decor accentuated by plentiful natural light through the large windows.
Decorated with style, quality and imagination, remains tastefully in keeping with the property's pastoral location and origins. There is a lovely, welcoming air about this property, the scene being set immediately on arrival by a long front terrace which is, quite simply, an irresistible invitation to relaxed al fresco living and admire the spectacular views over the surrounding countryside. Great care has been taken to ensure that decor and furnishings remain fully in keeping with the already established high standards of taste, style and quality in the original part of the property.
The attractive tiered garden cascades from the long terrace area, in front of the house, down to the private pool where you will find comfortable sun loungers. The swimming pool of generous proportions ( 15m x 5m ) will delight keen swimmers. With such an appealing pool and ample gardens on the doorstep, guests could be forgiven for not wishing to leave such a pleasant spot.
Enhancing privacy options for sharing families, the property consists of the main house with 3 double bedrooms, an exterior double bedroom with en-suite shower which has been created from a part of the building that was formerly the grain store-cum-stable and along a pathway a separate apartment/studio with double bed, sofa bed, kitchen, bathroom and a brush covered dining area with table and chairs and comfortable seating.
Main House - 3 bedrooms with air conditioning
A notable enhancement to the ground floor is the long entrance hallway with extra seating which connects the dining room, living area and the fully equipped kitchen. On the ground floor you will find 2 double bedrooms with en-suite bathroom, one bedroom with steps leading to an open mezzanine level with horizontal wide bars and extra sofa seating, perfect as an adult reading area or having private time. Also from the main hallway there are stairs leading up to another double bedroom on the first floor with private bathroom.
Exterior double bedroom with air conditioning
Next to the courtyard you will find this beautiful double bedroom with open plan bathroom and glass shower screen. The owner has managed for this area to maintain it's original stone charm while offering a perfect cosy double bedroom. Just another eye-catching feature adding authenticity and character to the property.
Apartment / Studio with air conditioning
Along the pathway from the main house you will find tucked away this stunning self contained apartment with living area, dining table and open plan kitchen, double bed and en-suite bathroom. This space is perfect for members of the group who wish to maintain their independence and also have the opportunity to dine privately and chill out on the comfortable exterior sofas on the private terrace.
Petra is located at the center of the island, in Pla de Mallorca, not a typical tourist environment but it has many historic places, emblematic buildings and beautifully kept fields with traditional crops: cereals, cluster tomatoes, melons, almond trees and olive tree. The beaches of Cala de Mallorca are just 26 km away and in the other direction you will find the unspoilt beach of Son Serra De Marina which is just 29 km drive.
But no visit here would be complete without some time spent exploring the surrounding area especially the Rafael Nadal Tennis Academy Museum in Manacor with bar/restaurant.

The municipality itself is of a moderate size at 70.13 km2 and is bordered by the towns of Manacor, Sineu, Ariany and Vilafranca de Bonay, whilst the northern extension of the area reaches out to Santa Margalida. Unlike several other villages reviewed, Petra is home to a sizeable population.
As is mainly typical of rural towns in the islands interior, Petra holds its origins in the agricultural productivity of the surrounding land. It is interesting to note that up until the 17th Century, the area was a major crop yielding region of Mallorca, particularly with regards to cereal production.
The relative prosperity enjoyed during this period resulted in Petra being considered one of the most important towns on the island, which was reflected in part by a large population, certainly in comparison to today's figures. However, the onset of drought and various epidemics significantly affected the agricultural productivity of the area thus leading to a substantial decrease in population. It was during this time that two of the town's most important buildings were erected, those being the parish church and convent of Sant Bernardi.
