We're pleased to offer our refurbished Finca for your holiday experience, confident you will find all the facilities and comforts you're accustomed to at home whilst enjoying your Spanish adventure. Double glazed throughout, the En-suite Bedrooms are pleasingly spacious with comfortable beds (The twin/
family room can accommodate various bed combinations as required). The dining and sitting rooms are equally substantial in size. The sitting room provides a relaxing oasis to escape the rigors of basking in the hot sun. Your accommodation is on one level except for the twin/family bedroom which has a number of steps 3 max which may not be suitable for people with severe walking difficulties.
The summer kitchen-diner is fully equipped: Electric (fan) Oven, 5 burner Gas Hob, American style fridge-freezer, Kettle, 4 slot Electric Toaster, Microwave Oven, plus ancillary equipment and utensils.
Outside, the enclosed 90m2 courtyard has ample seating options, parasols and a comfortable 3 seat garden swing. It's complimented by a 24m2 Naya covered dining area containing a large rustic dining suite and an outdoor cook station (make you own paella or griddle a few steaks). Chances are you'll eat al-fresco throughout your stay. The adjacent 140m2 pool area is accessed directly by 3 steps. It Boasts an inset 10x4 Greco pool, poolside gazebo, sun loungers, parasols, cd player, plus a poolside dining table and chairs should you want to max on your tan!.
South facing, both areas are completely private and have substantial sunbathing space. pool area is perfect for 'total' tanning. Both areas have attractive lighting enabling you to extend your outdoor experience until your bed calls you. what a nice way to close your day. As a bonus we also provide beach towels, so you can fill your suitcases with even more clothes options!.
With pseudo Grass being linked to health risks and tiles being dangerously slippy, we've chosen to coat the pool surround with a non-slip yet smooth material, (actually it's special pool cement) which, we're pleased to say does the job and doesn't burn or hurt your feet.
ENTERTAINMENT: We like music, evidenced by CD units in the Pool area, Naya and Kitchen, and have an eclectic assortment of CD's: classical, pop, rock, brass, jazz, etc. spanning 1940's to present day, (scary!), which you're welcome to use or use your own cd preferences] We also have a substantial number of books of all types (no dog eared oldies). There's also a TV/DVD facility in the sitting room with 100+ DVD's to choose from. If you like interactive table games, you may Want to try our 'Mexican Train' 15 spot dominos (totally different from UK dom's) rules are easy to follow so all ages can play. They've proved to be seriously addictive (some guests refusing to go to bed). Oh! yes we have WI-FI.
Casa Largo is listed as 'antigua' ancient and its thick exterior walls insulate the interior from the suns rays. This eco friendly action can be augmented by electric fans, available in all rooms, to ensure a cool respite during the hottest days and enable you to enjoy a pleasant nights sleep.
Paraje Paredon (the 'place' called Paredon) is located 5 km north of its parent town, Pinoso, which is renowned for its clean air, good wine and the longevity of its population. It is quite a wealthy town, this being courtesy of Mount Coto, knicknamed "Marble mountain", reputed to be the largest marble quarry in Europe don't panic! you can't see or hear it!. The duties paid by the marble extraction companies, together with income from the salt, which sits below the marble and is pumped in slurry form down to Torrevieja (who omit to mention the source of much of 'their' salt) swell the town coffers quite nicely.
Pinoso is also famous for its shoes really soft leather, sheepskin? which are extremely comfortable, amazingly light and surprisingly stylish!. Highly recommended for diabetic's and others with issues relating to their feet. (There is an outlet shop in Pinoso, well worth a visit). The town is also acclaimed for its sausages, known throughout Spain and sold in "El Cortes Ingles" 'the' #1 store in Spain.
When we arrived in 2002 the area had a handful of Brits. Its now home to circa 600+ UK expats plus
a wide assortment of other nationalities. Many bars, shops and restaurants are now bi-lingual and all very welcoming, providing traditional Spanish cuisine from 'menu del dia' to 'a la carte'. In recent times expats have opened restaurants offering traditional English/Continental/Spanish, We are happy to recommend 'las delicios' and 'Oasis'. We're sure you will enjoy your gastronomic adventure in Pinoso and even venture to nearby towns (or further!), so whatever your palate or preference you certainly won't starve during your visit to the 'campo'.
Hard fruits are grown in this predominately agricultural region with nisperos, cherries, peaches, apricots, apples, pears, almonds, olives and sharon fruit coming to harvest through the year. But quite rightly, it's the grape that rules. Fields and fields of 'wine on the vine'. Now this is a fruit you could get to like. Viva Uva! Viva Vino!
Wine buffs will be pleased to find themselves perfectly situated to enjoy the fine wines of the many Bodegas in both Alicante and Murcia provinces. Indeed Jumilla, home of the world famous summer wine festival check www is just 36km away. Many, many bodegas producing excellent wines, with some of the larger establishments offering guided tours and sampling opportunities, so make sure someone else picks the short straw to drive. Pinoso, Culebron, El Seque and other local bodegas have earned reputations for quality wines. El Seque is most notable as its wines are sold throughout Europe even before the grapes have been harvested! and boasts a two to three year waiting list.
Although designated 'Inland', we're only about an hour from the coast, so vibrant Benidorm 102km, just over an hour away and many other resorts (more sedate but equally enjoyable), are within easy reach, as are impressive historical centres such as Cartagena 126km. Closer to home you can indulge yourself with a visit to the thermal baths at Fortuna 30km, or Archena 36km, where you can arrange a day of relaxation with therapeutic treatments. check www
Outdoor lovers can enjoy the many well signed walking routes nearby, while the more adventurous can get their adrenalin pumping with a visit to the International status Go-Kart tracks at Villena or Jumilla where you can indulge your formula one fantasies at ground level. The thrill of riding the river Segura water rapids is less than an hour away, OR, do what we all do best on holiday and just relax in the sun by the pool!.
Our provincial capital, Alicante 70km is an impressive cosmopolitan city boasting excellent restaurants and shopping facilities (El Cortes Ingles, etc), which, together with its beautiful harbour area and pristine beaches overlooked by the magnificent Santa Barbara castle, makes for a lovely day out. Why not bypass the lifts to the castle and reach it via the "old town". Hardy walkers can follow the original paths and walkways used for many many years. Quite a demanding but rewarding challenge.
If, after a days play (or relaxation) you want to enjoy the company of others but don't want to drive, you can stroll over to the neighbouring Manor House bar restaurant 300 metres where you can meet up with local ex-pats and fellow visitors over an English pint or Spanish red. The predominately English menu, offered throughout the day, ranges from 'light snacks' to 'al-a -carte'.
However, if you fancy experiencing some genuine Spanish hospitality, all you have to do is trek the 60 metres to our neighbours, Enrique and Reme, whose Spanish bar restaurant is incredibly popular. Reme rules the kitchen, cooking "homemade" traditional Spanish meals (and snacks) though out the day. the clientel So you have a "no need to cook" option literally right next door.
Our home is an ongoing WIP But we don't work when we have guests so please be assured your holiday won't be blighted by the infamous disruptions of 7am wakeup calls and cement mixer music,
Our current objective, to renovate the facia, was on hold for 14 months pending Iberdrola re-routing cables (the job took 4 minutes!). Now we're planning to start work over the winter to transform her to look as good as she deserves to be!. Hope you like the pic's that accompany this protracted narrative.
Finally, Congratulations on reading this far, you deserve a certificate! - I don't qualify as I've been certified already). We'll be living at the other end of the house, it's distinctly separate from your accommodation, more like being a next door neighbour, So we're close enough to be on hand should you need any help or advice. Also, to ensure the pool facilities are consistent, we undertake daily pool maintenance and water the courtyard plants each morning and evening. We generally clean the pool just after sunrise (takes approx. an hour) and close it at 8pm then start filter operation at 10pm (that's as close as we get to being an hotel).
PS: Our Home is 58 metres / 63 yards / 189 feet long - Hence her name "Casa Largo / Long House"
PPS: We're reasonably flexible regarding arrival and departure times, but if there are people arriving
on the same day as you leave (very rare), we ask for your help in vacating your rooms so we have time to prepare them for the incoming guests. We'll always work to accommodate you if there is an overlap.

Margaret and Brian stayed up to welcome us in the early hours after our late flight, and most kindly arranged for us to stay comfortably during the day of our late departure.
They were perfect hosts: unobtrusively helpful and available, friendly, informative and supportive. Proud of their property and keen to ensure that we were able to enjoy our accommodation.
Casa Largo is a splendid place: full of character and lovingly refurbished, fully equipped for your holiday; the spacious patio and the separate pool area are a joy to relax in-very privately-whilst the beautifully maintained pool in turn invites activity.
Pinoso, a short drive away, with its peaceful attractive and interesting small town character, populated by friendly, cheerful and welcoming Spaniards, provides colour, a busy market, and plenty of varied restaurants with enjoyable, inexpensive fare. (Don't forget your phrase book, but allow the locals to try out their English on you.)
It's also a good jumping off point for both inland and coastal trips; amongst many choices, don't miss Alicante, Murcia, Elche and Orihuela, all cathedral cities with their own beauty and character. Pinoso is famous for its agriculture and the contrasting great marble quarry. Try to arrange a close look if you can, via the town's tourist office, and if you happen to enjoy good wine, the local Monastrell grape produces some of the very best.

We loved it here; we wanted a relaxing holiday that we could enjoy with our kids by the pool. The villa is such a hidden gem, the courtyard and its pool area are so private that it feels like a home from home.
We stayed at Casa Largo for 10 days in August and it is a very special place. The villa has a great range of spaces and we felt very relaxed and at home. The highlight has to be the pool where we spent the majority of our time and the Naya where we ate and relaxed in the evenings
Margaret and Brian were amazing hosts and did so much to make our stay memorable. The pool was cleaned every day and the welcome pack on arrival was both comprehensive and much appreciated.
This is a ru rural property and as such everywhere is a journey and a car essential. We did explore enjoying a day out in Alicante and some local markets. It was however hard to drag the kids away from the pool.
If you want the bright lights and a busy location then this villa may not suit. However if you want to relax and recharge your batteries somewhere lovely this is perfect
Had a lovely two week stay in August 2016 during the fiesta week with our two teenage boys. Lovely quiet spot with the benefit of having a charming little bar a very short walk away. The pool, dart board, monopoly and pack of cards went down a treat with the boys (and the wifi)!
Hiring a car is an absolute must.
The villa was fantastic for the four of us. Very spacious and comfortable.
Margaret and Brian were friendly, approachable and very helpful (supplying details of activities on in the local town during the fiesta).
The welcome pack was a lovely surprise.
