Overall a thoroughly enjoyable holiday. The villa itself was in a lovely location down a private road with some other villas and is a great base for exploring the area. There is off road parking we even managed to get a people carrier on the drive - but watch out its very narrow reversing in. The outside area has 2 tables, one covered eating area and one just by the pool and BBQ. The villa is well laid out with ample space for 6 people and is nicely decorated. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you should need. The bathroom was spacious with lots of storage and there were ample towels and linen for the family. There are mosquito nets on the windows and fans in the 3 bedrooms, lounge and kitchens so it is cool throughout. There are also books and games so that kept the children entertained when they werent in the pool. We had a few issues on arrival such as the BBQ didnt work and the front door did not have a key and therefore could not be locked. We contacted the key holder who arranged for a brand new BBQ and a new door lock the very next day ((Thank You)) The key holder Jayne and Marco and Manolo are very pleasant and happy to help with any queries. One recommendation would be the pool area itself could have done with a couple more sun loungers. The villa is a short walk from a few bars and restaurants (all located on the main road). Los casadores and casa blas to the right at the top of the street are both very good. Los casadores does really nice fresh fish its worth asking for catch of the day and one evening there was a flamenco night. Casa Blas a bit further up on opposite side also has a small shop next door which is great for getting freshly baked baguettes, Jamon, beer & wine if you dont want to drive all the way into Chiclana. We would most definitely stay here again.

Overall we were very pleased with the holiday. The Villa was spacious and clean and very private. The kitchen was well equipped although the hob and sink had been cleaned with a caustic cleaner so didnt look clean. Some of the pots, pans and oven werent very clean. The pool was lovely, well maintained. The barbecue was very tired looking, rusty and looked like it needed a good scrub so we didnt bother to use it. The communication from the owner/caretaker was minimal though to be fair we didnt ask for any assistance. The handover on arrival again was minimal. No information was given as regards local doctors, dentists, etc and no instructions as to what to do with the keys on leaving, but again, we didnt ask for any of this info and had the caretakers number so we could have called her if necessary. A car is a necessity as the villa is a few miles from Chiclana. The shop is a short drive away and has everything you need (deli counter and good wine selec tion too). Generally the issues were not of major importance and did not spoil our holiday in any way so this shouldnt be taken as a bad review.

About the owner
We moved to Spain just over two years ago. We bought our own property to rent out and eventually retire to. However we had abad experience with the agent who was looking after the place and as this was going to be our home we decided to move out and run our own agency for other people in a similar position. We gained our knowledge from one of our sons who runs his own Agency in the UK . We also have one other family property which we rent out + three others we look after for clients which have since become friends. We run a total management package here on the Costa de la Luz.
