3 bed 2 bath villa with private pool set in 2 acres Fantastic country/mountain views, peaceful but very near to the town of Novelda. Full British Sky TV with Sky Plus and free WIFI
Novelda has a wide variety of attractions for all to enjoy. There are numerous historic interests including the St Mary Magdalene Sanctuary , built in marble and constructed in early 20th Century by a pupil of Gaudi, who built the famous cathedral in Barcelona. At its side is a 12th Century triangular tower built by the Moors. Both are amazing sights, and located only 5 minutes drive from the villa.
The town itself has breathtakingly beautiful art nouveau buildings, museums and fantastic architecture. There are many typically Spanish restaurants, bars, coffee shops, ice cream parlours, supermarkets ( including Carrefour Express, Aldi with Carrefour Hyphermarket being 15 minutes away) banks Pharmacies etc, as well as a well informed and helpful Tourist Information Office (English spoken well).
There are local markets held in the town on a Wednesday and Saturday, where clothes, goods, shoes and fresh produce can be purchased.
There is also the beautiful park Oeste or Western Park which has a botanical garden, and is a lovely place to walk through. During the summer, music festivals are often held here to celebrate the Moors and Christians fiesta.
The people in the town are warm, helpful and friendly as this is the real Spain, and enjoy interaction with the different nationalities.
There are a number of bodegas in close proximity to the villa which is an excellent opportunity to buy local wine. Our local Bodega in Novelda provides a tour and talk about the the production of wine, and more importantly, some wine tasting. This Bodega provides wine in the bottle and is of exceptionally high standard and has won many awards.
A recent publication of the travel book "Top 10" Costa Blanca, details a number of entries for Novelda - including the Casa museo Modernista, restaurant and the St Mary Magdelane Sanctuary.
There are numerous internet cafe's (1 euro for 30 minutes) in the town, which also offers printing/faxing services.
We consider car hire essential for this property due to its location. All instances of approx. time from villa Novelda to airport, shops, beach etc, which are quoted in the advert, is driving time unless otherwise stated.
There is no gas in the property at all. Everything is run on electricity.
Villa Novelda is at the end of a quiet lane, and although there are neighbours, due to the large garden of 2 acres, makes this a beautifully quiet and private location with out being isolated.
The villa has the wow factor , which is why we chose this as our Spanish home originally. Upon arrival, it is clear to see why. The space, the peaceful location, pool, terracing and above all the views, all make this a perfect and ideal holiday home.
The villa is in a countryside location, and is surrounded by paths/lanes suitable for walking and cycling. This is an excellent opportunity to appreciate the countryside and views that accompany it. In the land around the villa, you will find many vineyards growing both grapes for wine, and desert grapes for eating at Christmas, these are easily distinguishable as they have white bags over the fruit to stop them drying out in the sun, olive, peach, almond and citrus trees.
The villa, pool and plentiful sunbathing terraces are south facing. In fact from the minute the sun rises in the morning, and sets in the evening, the pool and the villa grounds are in the glorious sunshine.
The pool area is child friendly, as it has a lockable gate and is fully enclosed with balustrades. There is specialist floor covering around the pool which is not only non slip, but remains cool underfoot, even in the hottest of days. The pool is 10m x 5m, with roman steps and a handrail for safety and ease whilst entering the pool. A ladder provides an exit from the deep end. A pool side shower is also provided.
The pool is professionally cleaned and maintained all year round.
The garden is beautiful with plenty of flowers, bushes adding wonderful colour up the drive and around the sunbathing areas. The olive trees are over 100 years old and the fruit trees supply lemons, figs, pomegranates and cherries, depending on the time of year you visit.
Of an evening, you have a choice as to where you relax, whether it be in the casita area or summer kitchen which provides a BBQ, fridge, outside WC and ample terracing and lighting watching the sun set, or, sitting under the porch terrace with views out to the town in the distance. The table and seats situated on the lower terrace is a particular favourite of ours to finish the day with a quiet drink
The kitchen has Bosch appliances - dishwasher and washing machine.
Inside the villa is just about everything that you could need during your stay. We have furnished this as our home, not as a rental property which has ensured that we have provided comfort and quality.
Apart from kitchen, which is north facing, there are ceiling fans in each room and there are ample towels and bedding available for your use. During the winter evenings, there is a wood burning fire enclosed with a glass door, this gives a max of 14kw of heat which heats the entire villa.
Young Children. For our younger guests we provide the following free of charge, 2 x travel cot, flask to keep bottles warm, potty, baby alarm and 2 x highchair.
Price includes the use of DVDs and player, CDs, plenty of books, pool/beach towels, welcome pack, assistance from English speaking property managers resident in Spain and cleaning at the end of your stay.
It is important to note that we have a very strict NO SMOKING policy, and in the event that we find smoking has taken place in the villa, we will keep the full security deposit that has been paid in advance to cover the additional cleaning costs associated with this. Smoking is allowed outside on the terraces.
Outside, there are 3 sets of tables with 6 chairs each and 6 luxurious sun loungers.
There is a strong signal for mobile phones with excellent reception. The free WIFI offers a speed of 6 meg, allowing you to keep up to date with e mails, make SKYPE calls etc.
There is Sky Plus at the Villa where you can record your favourite programmes and catch up at your convenience.
Around and About
There is a bar/restaurant that is within a 10 minute walk from the villa - claimed to be the best restaurant in Novelda - which you can use for drinks, tapas or a beautiful meal, and a more relaxed bar approx 25 minute walk.
The town centre of Novelda is a 5 minute drive away, and although there are lots of amenities which are close by, car hire is essential.
The beautiful Blue Flag beaches along the Costa Blanca are approx 30 minutes away, with many miles of sandy beaches. Santa Pola is the nearest beach, which has lovely restaurants and beachside cafes.
Approx 20 minutes drive away is the town of Aghost, which specialises in the manufacture of ceramic plates, pots, garden ornaments and is amazingly good value for money. Well worth a visit.
The Alenda Golf course is a 10 minute drive away , and is a lovely place to play golf - however, non golfers often go to the club house to enjoy a meal or refreshments in the court yard or the restaurant. There are a selection of approx 8 other Golf courses (e.g.Villamartin, Las Ramblas, Campamoar) within 45 minutes drive. La Manga is approx 1hour 15 minutes away.
There are villages nearby where English goods e.g. Newspapers, home made food items, Hairdressers (who can come to the property), catering for special occasions, celebration cakes etc.
If anybody is staying at our villa that would like to discuss property purchases - process, contacts for lawyers, builders etc we are more than happy to help.
Villa is fabulous but you do need a car as it is a little off the beaten track. My second visit and can't recommend enough.

Everything is as described or better, and the welcome pack was just that and needed as we didnt arrive till late. Lots to see and do (local bodega is very good for a tour or dining or both. We went twice) The town and people very nice and helpful and many good places to eat and shop. Would like to go again and would recommend to friends and family without hesitation.

Wow , what can i say this villa certainly has the wow factor when you arrive with stunning views , acres of land and everything you could possibly need/want.
My family spent 16 very happy days here with excellent weather ( including a spectacular thunderstorm which was great to watch). The local supermarkets are very good especially the very large Carfour in Eldr ( only 12mins by car). It is close enough to nip down to Alicante or Santa polo for an evening as the main link road A31 is only 10mins away. We had sun from crack of dawn to dusk every day with loads of choice where to sit, the pool was fab and warm once in. Brett and Theresa were on hand for any problems and very friendly (thanks) . I am very reluctent to recommend this villa as i would love to go back and it is already very popular , ONLY JOKING it is highly recommended ( but please dont book lol). Thanks very much to Diane (owner) for the great communication and ease of booking.

what can we say just another fantastic review to add to the rest . had a great relaxing holiday, we did plan several days out but when we got there we couldnt drag ourselves away from the pool so we ended up settling for one day out to benidorm which was only a 45 minute drive away. the house is spotless and is like a home from home , cds and books to read and listen to while you are relaxing by the pool .the views are stunning , we sat every evening and watched the sun go down with a bottle of wine absolute bliss.the welcome pack was very much appreciated as we didnt hav to rush out straight away to get a drink and sandwiches . the nearest bar la villa is only a fifteen minute walk away and the staff are really friendly ,we went there every day. would recommend a visit to st mary magdallene, it is beautiful and again the views are stunning . cant wait to go back again . paul wendy melissa and jenna cox .

Beautiful villa, superb location, relaxing peasceful holiday. Spent a lot of time exploring the areas, and bodegas!!! which was great fun. The pool was a dream, everything we could wish for was provided and we were looked after by both the owners before our stay, and property managers during our stay. Will be rebooking without a doubt.
This was a review from guests staying at the villa, when there were issues with the Volcanic Ash. We were delighted to receive such a lovely letter:Dear DianeJust a few lines to say many thanks for helping us to have a very enjoyable holiday at your wonderful villa. The weather was varied, but all said overall was superb. The villa far outweighed our expectations, total peace and tranquillity.Even after your responsibilities had been fulfilled, you continued to serve professionally by allowing extended use of the facilities. As if that were not enough, in our hour of need, you still offered extra accommodation if required.Your sincerity went over and above all of our expectations. For that we thank you sincerely.Once again, many many thanksPaul and Linda
hi Villa Novelda is a little taste of paradise - absolutely perfect. You have clearly put a huge amount of effort into making the place so fantastic and we are glad we were able to experience it.
We are in our 60's, 70's and 80's and had a fantastic holiday. The pool, the views the quietness, just bliss.....we have booked already for New Year!
we spent a week in this villa in August, and didn't want to leave it all week. The children played in the pool and garden, and it was relaxing for us not to worry about the amount of noise they made affecting the neighbours. Everyday, we walked either up the hill around the back of the house, or around the lanes which surround the property. We found nice restaurants and enjoyed the market. We will be going back!
The villa benefits from window grills and shutters. There are pool towels supplied for your use, and a selection of sun loungers and chairs to relax in.
There is a large selection of both CDs and DVDs for your use during your stay, as well as a well stocked book case for you to read whilst you relax at the property.
A complimentary welcome pack will be provided for the start of your holiday. The swimming pool is professionally cleaned and serviced on a regular basis. There are binoculars, maps and tourist guides for the area available to help you make the most of your stay.
There is parking for 6 or more cars next to the house for your convenience, inside the boundary fence.
The villa has WIFI, which is free for you to use with your own laptop, so that you can connect to the internet using email, facebook or use your SKYPE account etc during your stay if you wish.
