CASA PEQUEÑA, a quality self-catering accommodation of unrivalled value for money. Pretty detached cottage style villa, ideal for two travellers. Possible to accommodate one extra guest (odd night) using the living-room double sofa-bed. A home from home the perfect place to relax, chill in the gardens or soak up the rugged beauty of ANDALUCIA - also a great touring base. English speaking representative (me!) on hand to answer any questions and help you in any way!

This traditional agricultural area with expanding tourist industry - still mainly Spanish - remains largely unspoilt by mass development. Growing sub-tropical fruits and vegetables often in large Invernaderos (plastic greenhouses) a vital part of the local economy. Fishing and tourism, secondary.

The Casita, shares interesting sub-tropical gardens with the owners traditional farmhouse Cortijo Nuevo and EL APARTAMENTO. The latter is also available for rentals (Ref: 1787) so possible to rent both homes allowing groups of 4/6 travellers maximum.
NEW POLICY FOR 2017: Adults only, no infants or children under 16 years of age. Idea to maintain the sense of peace, tranquility and relaxation. Suitable naturists.

The Cortijo is nicely designed so each property has privacy and ample outdoor space. As well as many shared areas various patios and benches, BBQs & fountains to relax by.
In season pick citrus fruits and avocados for breakfast. Lounge by the Swimming Pool (shared only with any occupants of El Apartamento) - perfect spot to chill out after busy day sightseeing or relaxing on any number of unspolit beaches on this Granada Coastline.
During the day or after sunset rustle up a barbecue beside the casita terrace. Fully equipped for 3 travellers charcoal bbq, ample seating and 2 sun loungers on the roof - vine covered terrace by the swimming pool.

Well behaved and socialised pet DOGS ALLOWED, my three waggy dogs; Hector, Boris and Dino live on site.

The Casita is comfortably furnished, an eclectic mix of modern and rustic/antique, not simply a spartan holidaylet or bog standard modern apartment.
Extras to make it feel more like home include full Wi-Fi coverage (house and gardens), including the swimming pool zone, DVDs, prints, books and fully equipped kitchen where you can prepare and cook meals.
Multi-language satellite television system - 100s of channels + UK Internet television. Woodburner in living room, cosy and practical on longer Winter lets. Plus I-pod dock in the bedroom.

The landscaped and illuminated gardens are an oasis, even in the dry Summer season. Full of many sub-tropical plants and exotic flowers for many months of the year. They provide the necessary protection against the sun - terraces and seating areas in both sun or shade. Cottage/jungle in design, they are not suburban or manicured - more a gardeners garden with many plant varieties.
Probably the best climate in mainland Europe - averaging over 320 sunny days a year. Snow & frosts very rare on the coast - possible to grow bananas, sugar cane and papaya on the Costa Tropical!
Keen gardeners welcome and always work to be done if you tire of sunbathing!

On arrival you will find beds made; welcome drink/snack. Advise Upgrade to Comprehensive LUXURY pack for just £50 extra - useful after long journey, or late/weekend arrivals. Contents can be tailored to your requirements, ask for details.

The Perfect spot for Independent travellers. Enjoy the best of all worlds traditional agricultural area, sea and mountain views, peaceful yet just 5 minute drive from busy town and beach life around Motril. Not isolated along trecherous mountain tracks like many inland hill properties!

Nearest beaches, shops, tapas bars and restaurants 3kms. away in the bustling market town of Motril, including large hypermarket and daily indoor food market. Cinema, theatre & new Bullring! Motril a working town rather than tourist resort remains very Spanish and is busy year round, ideal for longer Winter breaks - when most resort towns seem to close down!

Also good base for property searches in the area many agents and Lawyers in Motril - many puchasers stay here - laptop facility useful.

Spanish restaurant Meson Puntalon and two small bars, just 10 minute stroll to Puntalon - but, really need to centre on Motril town & Port for everyday needs.

Although final cleaning is included in our prices, we ask travellers to ensure that the kitchen is tidy on departure and all rubbish disposed of.

Lovely quirky annex.. you got the sense of real spain... so quiet and layed back....the garden and pool just made you feel so relaxed and gave the holiday a fantastic feel... we stayed around garden areas for hours....Motril is a pleasant town with good bars and restaurants...great supermarket Acampo for all your shopping needs....Patrick the owner is very helpful and friendly and his two dogs are nice ... all in all a wonderfully holiday and we will be booking for next year shortly.....

The dogs are very friendly. Hector is nice but hyperactive when you are leaving and it's hard to bring him in home from the street. )

the owner is lovely. He and his very friendly dogs will greet you on arrival and show you around. You are then free to help yourself, wander around the beautiful gardens and relax by the pool or fire up the barbecue.
The bustling little town of Motril is only 1km away, with excellent an beach at Salobrena just a stones-throw further.

The best word to describe this property is...potential. It could be a holiday haven. The photos in the advert are so out of date...the 'lush gardens' are now, in fact, a jungle!! The areas of the garden created for a relaxing siesta/chill out time are difficult to find in the overgrown bush and too unkempt to suit their purpose.
Once upon a time this may have been an ideal holiday cottage away from the tourist trail but now, unfortunately, it is far from it.
The summer kitchen/barbecue area again was not fit to be used as such and the pool was not very inviting.....seemingly the dogs enjoyed the cooling water!
The general cleanliness of the whole place was poor.
The owner was very friendly and helpful when approached and his 3 dogs were no (real) trouble but a lot of work/care and attention is needed to bring it up to the standard necessary to be rented out and for it to match the description as advertised.

Wow! 86 verified reviews, more than practically any property in Andalucía and the first 2 star! Suprised and rather disappointed in the untruths published, some clarification in order:
1) - The garden photos are recent (2014/15) and do not lie. The lush sub-tropical gardens may indeed be described as a jungle, that is the design intent and taken many years of maintenance. More of a gardeners garden, not a suburban or manicured space often found in more sterile holiday villas.
2) - The two barbeques are functional, all amenities listed within the property advert are present and fully working; Wi-Fi, multi language television, DVD, dishwasher, washing machine, fountains etc.,
3) . The swimming pool is open 24/7 without restriction, illuminated at night - the dogs (nor myself) do not use, as was quickly pointed out on arrival when concerns were raised.
4) - The property advert description is 100% accurate. Casa Pequeña has processed numerous booking via this site (formerly and has one of the highest rankings on the site and more verified reviews than practically any other property in the whole of spain!
5) - If anxious about Casa Pequeña, please contact me via this site and I can explain the reasons for this negative review - this is not the forum to disclose details.

A really lovely quirky unique cottage. It had everything you could possibly need for your stay. Lovely sun trap on the roof terrace. As for the gardens, well they are truly amazing, with lots of lovely flowers and corners to explore. The swimming pool at the end of the garden was just amazing, what a lovely area to just laze in the sun and cool off in the pool. Patrick was a great host and was very helpful, and as for the dogs, Dino and Hector, they were great company. We had a really relaxing, peaceful holiday here, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Casa Pequena was a magical experience for me and my husband who were both gratly in need of a rest. The villa is quirky which I loved and has every single thing you could need. Dining on the sun terrace on in the garden is great as the different perfumes of the flowers drift by! There is something new to note each day in the beautiful, mature garden. Patrick is a gentleman in every sense of the word and clearly at one with nature and his wonderful dogs: Hector, the rogue Dino the loveable rescue dog and Gerry, the grandaddy of them all! We divided our time between the villa and touring the area which has much to offer. I would love to return with more of my family in the future where I could keep them at a comfortable disatance from me in the appartment! I thoroughly recommend this little jewel on the south coast of Spain!

OASIS ENCHANTING. The Casa Pequeña took us, my partner and 5 year old son, to a 24 hour 7 days a week experience of other realms: opening any window or door the fragrancies of the most overwhelming beautifull tropical flowers, trees and herbs embraced us. Sending us rays of harmony, peace and purity and true gifts of nature. The many seats were placed very well so that togetherness, play as well as privacy were easily woven into one movement. The many fountains gave a very cheerfull sound. Patrick the owner makes you live in harmony with nature, makes it possible to experience, as opposite to the harsh stressed human power-over-nature and animals society. For us it was paradise! Thank you Patrick! The house was genuinely Spanish, different than we were used to and very romantic. The kitchen was a joy to cook and the roof terrace gave beautifull views. Ariella F, Amsterdam.

UN PEQUEÑO PARAÍSO AL ALCANCE DE CUALQUIERÁ. Experiencia repetible, encantadora, se nos han hecho muy cortes los días. No se nos olvidará la estancia, recomiendo la casa pequeña a los/as amantes de la naturaleza, de los pequeños detalles, de la vida. A mi hija, Laura, de 4 años, tampoco se le olvidará, el jazmin, la piscina, los paseos por el jardín, la cama....en fin, una delicia. Volveremos sin duda.

Casa Pequeña - everything true in advert; great location, relaxing pool & garden, (we found it difficult to go out daily to explore) comfortable bed, power shower, internet cable. Need to return in Winter to view big DVD collection. Do not hesitate to book - great property!

"This is Paradise" - Cortijo Nuevo.Set between the Sierra Nevada and the Mediterranean, the Cortijo's 2 spaces are authentically and tastefully decorated in classic Andalucian style, yet filled with modern amenities. The garden is literally paradise, and we spent almost all of our time in it. In the evening we would cook outside and sit under an avocado tree, drinking vino tinto, visiting with Patrick our host, the dogs lazing at our feet. Patrick made us feel welcome and at home at once, with a generous welcome package in the kitchen, useful advice and a good sense of humour. A place for travellers rather than tourists Motril is an unspoiled Andalucian town with a deep and fascinating history, friendly residents, good restaurants and nightlife. Day trips to Salobreña, Las Alpujarras, Almeria and Almuñecar are easy and worthwhile, especially returing to the beauty and hospitality of the Cortijo Nuevo.We have travelled all the way from Canada twice, and intend to take our entire family back next year. Even for a long winter let, i.e. February and March, we were very comfortable and well looked after by the owner, including our small dog. The kitchen was extremely well equipped for a self-catering property as was the rest of the Casita. The garden and luckily the weather were marvellous. A lot of road and drainage work was going on, but that will only improve the area. Well worth a visit.

We had a most relaxing holiday here - the casa is equipped with everything you could possibly need and is in a beautiful garden with a handy pool! Lots of interesting places are within easy reach and we appreciated the useful file of information provided by the friendly owner. We would recommend this property to anyone looking for somewhere to unwind totally!

My name is Patrick, I am a British Citizen having owned Cortijo Nuevo, for over 26 years and residing here full-time since 2001, with three friendly dogs; Dino, Hector & Boris. We all respect guests privacy, but still available to deal with any issues and problems, offer advice or simply chat. Key/linen change, pool and gardening maintenance are all dealt with swiftly with the aim of facilitating a restful and tranquil stay here on the Costa Tropical.
Both CASA PEQUEÑA and EL APARTAMENTO are popular year round, due in part to the wonderful Andaluz climate, but also the special garden - note the many positive reviews on the subject. Both homes are comfortable furnished with everything necessary in a holiday let, but also a few extras - to enable any travellers to unwind after their initial arrival.
