This lovely secluded villa with 5 bedrooms and a private pool has all the mod-cons available and is set in 4 acres of land. It is ideal for a family holiday. The views are extraordinary towards the sea and the mountains.
Mijas village with its restaurants, local shops and tourist attractions is within walking distance (uphill) but a car is essential. Apart from the swimming pool, there are local tennis courts and/or horses for hire. The closest golf is Alhaurin Golf which is 12 minutes away.
El Capricho: accommodation
The accommodation is on two floors:
First floor has the master bedroom with dressing room and en-suite. There are two further twin bedrooms with a shower room. A large living room with a separate Arab seating area has a television. The large open terrace has seating arrangements for 10 people and can be shaded by a sun awning.
Groundfloor consists of a dining room for 10 , a fully fitted kitchen with all the mod-cons, two ground floor bedrooms, one double with en-suite spa bathroom and one twin bedroom; a covered terrace with additional tables overlooks the pool and the garden area.

Our family group of 6 spent a very happy week at El Capricho in February 2017. Clear instructions on how to get there, clear rendezvous arrangements with the welcoming House Manager who contacted us prior to our arrival to check arrival times and who arrived punctually at the RV point to show us to the house and explain things to us. House well equipped, clean and welcoming, garden and pool obviously well maintained too.
Just above Fuengirola, but when you are sitting on the porch or by the pool all you can really aware of is the garden, sky and sea.
Tranquil setting, handy enough for shopping, house and garden spacious, secure parking, good access main roads for trips out.

We stayed here in July 2016 as a family with young children. This is an absolutely beautiful villa in a stunning location with unbeatable views. Very quiet area with no-one around, yet conveniently located (by car) for shops and restaurants in the pretty village of Mijas or Fuengirola. Steph is absolutely lovely, and very accommodating on check-in, meeting us in an easy-to-find location, rather than struggle finding it. The pool was nice and warm (heating off - not needed in July!) and huge, and the whole house was immaculate, well-equipped and well laid out. We will be back!
To all families wanting a relaxing and private vacation, do not hesitate to book this villa for your holiday. I can honestly say that this house is just perfect with its large pool, beautiful garden and spectacular view from the terrasse. The villa is located just down the hill from a lovely small white Andalucian village called Mijas with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. The road up to Mijas is very steep and can be tiresome in the heat, but doesnt take more than 20 min. Since there was cheap and easy parking in Mijas, we usually drove up there and sometimes left the car and walked home.
A car is essential to get around in the area. The villa is situated in an area where there is nothing else but other large villas and estates. You will need a car to go shopping for groceries and to visit other attractions in Fuengeriola. So when I say private vacation, it is. With no neighbours and few houses around, you wont meet many other people than the housekeeper. Which was just perfect for us with small children.
The place was surrounded by fences and bushes and felt really secure, as long as you had an eye on the very deep pool, 2,5-3 m.
This villa is perfect also perfect for trips to the many attractions all along the coast, whether it is shopping in Malaga (25 min) or a trip to aquapark, zoo, tivili world, and Aquarium just all 15 min away with easy access to the highway.
We stayed here for two weeks and we hope to come back for another three weeks next year.
What a superb choice ! Everything about El Capricho is better than you can ever want for. The villa itself is absolutely charming and have so many nice details. The garden is very very big and beautyfully planted, with a lawn so big our two teenage boys spent quite a few hours playing football !
And the gorgeous swimmingpool is the biggest weve ever seen on a private property. The pool alone is a reason to rent this villa! Depth of 2,5 metres made it excellent for diving. What a treat!!
Not to mention the views: 180 degrees of Fuengirola coastline. We spent the evenings on the top terrace with the fantastic oustanding view - how can you not want to look at this forever?
Mijas is the most charming town one can ever imagine. A very good range of restaurants and the shops had pretty merchandise - not the usual tacky touristy things you find in the towns by the coastline. The view from Mijas is the absolutely prettiest you can dream of.
I recommend going to the charming English restaurant "Carob" up the hill between the villa and Mijas. We enjoyed the huge portions of good food and their fantastic service.
I cannot say how much we enjoyed our stay at this gorgeous villa. Can we come back? Please!?

We bought this villa 20 years ago to live in it ourselves but due to the childrens education we decided to move to the UK 18 years ago where we still reside.
It is a fabulous place for children and adults alike who like being secluded but have lots of open spaces to run about. Although we have now restricted the access to the rest of the adjoining land mainly for (small children) security reasons, it is still easy to visit the rest of the small valley with the large carob trees.
2 yrs ago, we installed a new heat pump for the pool so anyone can have a swim at anytime of the year! However, the costs are very high and I prefer not to use it from November to February unless absolutely necessary.
I hope you will enjoy it as much as we have done in the past and still do when we are visiting.
