Villa overview - owner's description

This simple country house decorated with Majorcan charm, from the 18th century is surrounded by open fields and therefore an ideal holiday home for nature lovers. From the living room / dining area with fireplace, a door leads into the garden with lovely trees. One bedroom has direct access to the pool, two rooms share a bathroom, and one has a bathroom en suite. The 4th room has a private bathroom and a separate living area and a separate entrance on the pine covered area in front of the house. It is slightly away from the enclosed barbecue terrace. There is also a soccer field with two gates. The country road, which is at a distance of 50 metres, takes you to two beautiful beaches, which are just 4 km away.

This villa is made from wood and brick and was originally built in 1800 and refurbished in 1990. The agent has rated it as a three star property so it is a well-kept villa, equipped with standard furniture. It is also good value for money. This villa has a private pool and view over the landscape; it is also located in Manacor, only 10km from Porto Christo. The nearest airport is 55km away. It is set in a good location, 5km away from a sandy beach. There's also a restaurant 2km away.

The villa has free wireless internet. You can also park on-site at no extra charge. The villa is well equipped: it has a refrigerator, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher. It also has a barbecue, a garden and some garden furniture outside.

When we arrived at the villa the electrical sockets were not working to one of the main bedrooms - the light switch was hanging off the wall!. When I reported this to the owner he accused us of breaking the cables when we had only just arrived. When I contacted the representative from Novasol she basically told me that I was "expecting too much from an old house". It was not until I threatened to call the authorities that she arranged for an electrician to be sent. The main safety balustrade to the front left hand side of the front drive is loose and only requires an unsuspecting guest to lean on it for it to fall off completely which could cause a fatality - we have photographic evidence of this as well as the sockets. The tiles were missing in one of the showers. The tiles were damaged and had large holes in them which exposed the cement below, throughout the living areas - again photographic evidence available. The hot water or the lack of it completely ruined our holiday. It was meant to be a property for 8 people and if you only had approx 10cm of water maybe 3 people per day could have a bath with tepid water. Genuinely wish we had never booked this villa - we all feel we have "been had"!

You will receive full details about your booking including directions to the property and a booking voucher that you need to hand over to the property manager when you receive the keys.   • A single bed is typically 70cm to 85 cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
  • A double bed is typically 140cm to 180cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
  • A “grand lit” is a European double bed, suitable for couples, and can be smaller than the usual UK or American doubles. It is typically 130cm wide but in some instances may be wider; it is approximately 180cm to 190cm deep.

A bunk bed is two single beds, one on top of another. Some properties also have pull-out beds, sofa beds and/or bed chairs; in a few properties the bed can be low in a wooden frame on the floor. The beds often have terry cloth sheet mattress protectors to protect the mattresses; please use them with the bed linen.

Some properties may have a loft as a bedroom: this is usually an open room at the top of the house with sloping walls and mattresses on a low bed or on the floor itself.
