Winter Sun at a bargain price at Fortuna, a historic Spa town
Step back from the coast, let Fortunas hot springs soothe your soul, and sink into a traditional Spanish life in the mountains of Murcia.

Las Kalendas, where Villa Kalendas is based is across from Fortunas historic Spas and Thermal hot pools.
Open all year, where even in January you can while away the hours outdoors soaking in a thermal pool. The sun really does shine nearlyeveryday, and you can lounge by the pool even in December.

While the temperature in the private pool does dro p in the Winter-within 4 mins drive you have a choice of 2 outdoor heated pools (37 Celsius)-La Fuente and the Thermal Natural Mineral waters at Leana,Spa Hotel.

These pools have loungers and sunbeds to lap up the Wintersun, in between your dips in the pool.Prices are very reasonable for full day lounging.Great value and entertainment for kids while you can read your book undisturbed. There are also pool bars and cafes-again great value compared to Coastal prices.

Fortuna offers a slice of heaven with a serious slice of history and outdoor enjoyment. Its a traditional town in the mountains of northwest Murcia, well away from the tourist hustle and bustle of the coast.

Its streets and squares are atmospheric places to while away the day with a coffee and book, while its heralded spa is a glorious time machine - youll wonder where the time disappeared and you will also feel a whole lot younger when you leave!

On the fringes of town are a group of important and intriguing archaeological sites, some that date back to the Bronze Age. Just a short walk from home and you will be able to delve into the diggings, explore sacred caves and observe the ancient Roman inscriptions - talk about an open-air museum!

For those who really want to stretch their legs, two large nearby parks offer wildlife, walking and hiking in scenic surroundings. The Sierra de la Pila Regional Park has 50km of hiking trails alone.

Holidaying in Fortuna gives you a true slice of rural Spanish life and yet, you are still only an hour or so drive from the coast. Though, we have a feeling if you are the Fortuna type, you would sooner point your compass west and spend your time wine tasting in Jumilla and Yecla.

Our stay at the villa was lovely, the villa was well presented and meet all our needs the villa is of a lovely size and nicely decorated through out the only problem we had while out there was the villas location due to the area being under redevelopment and not having any sort of local shop and having to drive 8km just to get milk but don’t let this put you of it you want a quiet laid back relaxing holiday with no stress this is the villa and location for you, we had a great time at the villa and would return even if we have to drive lots on holiday, the local pub la cabellae was really nice and helpful would recommend there to thanks for a great week and experience in a different part of Spain to what were used to please pay them a visit won’t be disappointed

From Ash, Aldershot, United Kingdom Aug 2015

No problems from clickstay would defiantly be recommending and using you again. The only problem we experienced was from the owners who blamed us for breaking there pool pump which we never did, I would like to add it was all ready broken when we got there but as they saw some toys around the pool they put the blame of us to get out of giving us back our 200 breakaway deposit. Complained that had about 16 people in the villa at a time which is totally diabolical. The most we had at the villa was 6 people at a time and there was no rules I place to say how people were allowed in the villa.

This is our second visit to the villa and me and my family loved it.
The villa is nice and clean and the swimming pool is fantastic my kids wanted to be in the pool 24/7
The local agent larry is such a nice and very helpful person who would make sure the pool is cleaned often
I would highly recommend this villa to everyone and will be looking to return in the future

Just spent a week at the villa, found the villa to be really lovely, very clean and spacious. The pool is an excellent size.

getting from the airport was easier than expected and found the villa no problem. There is a great indian restaurant on the complex. The nearby camp site has a pub run by an English couple that provides lovely food

The area is very quiet and you definitely need a car to get to shops and to get around, we went to Benidorm for the day and Murcia too

My only small issue with this villa was we were asked to wash off sun cream before entering the pool, which made it difficult making sure kids did not get burned as they wanted to spend all day in the pool and it was very hot when we where there

Couple from Leeds, United Kingdom Jun 2014

We are a retired couple who like things clean and comfortable and expect properties to be as described and illustrated. This spacious property was in a good location but was disappointing in a lot of ways. Indoor seating was either broken or uncomfortable, covers throws were made from old curtains and were in need of washing, sun loungers did not have cushions (as illustrated) no canopy for outside static table (this is in full sun 10am - sunset). Paid 50 euros locally for cleaning but on arrival we were not impressed with the cleanliness of the villa especially the kitchen. No linen change during 2 weeks stay - washing machine and detergent were available but did not expect to have to launder/iron sheets, towels etc. half way through our holiday. Outside patio had several unsafe tiles. Described as quiet and peaceful - not true - barking resident dogs and when other villas are occupied it can be very noisy indeed. We would not return to this villa nor would we recommend it to anyone else.

Sheila,as the owner of Villa Kalendas,I would first like to apologise for your disappointment with your stay at the Villa and also that it did not live up to your expectations. We always welcome feedback from our visitors as this will help us rectify any problems that may be developing. I would like to address the issues that you raised in your review. 1. Indoor seating-The sofa in the living area is an actual pull-out double bed. This provides extra sleeping accommodation when required. The covers are just used to protect it from sun factor and can be removed at anytime. They are just used to protect the sofa/pull-out bed and when guests arrive we expect them to set the place up as they require. We also provide a large number of fold-up chairs that guests can move around easily to suit themselves eg.up to the Solarium, out by the pool or under either of the canopied areas. We will look at the indoor seating arrangement again and maybe replace the pull-out double bed/sofa with just a sofa if we deem it unnecessary. 2. Regarding the cushions on the sun loungers. We provided these at the start of renting out the Villa but soon found that they are very unhygienic. They became stained with sweat and sun factor after each rental period. Now we provide 8 beach towels (extra to the 3 bathroom villa towels that we also provide),which guests can use/reuse/wash on the sun loungers. We think this is a much better idea. 3. There are 2 different large canopy areas provided by the Villa to allow shelter from the sun. They are both large areas, all covered in by roofed areas. These provide great protection from the sun to enable outdoor dining when the sun is very hot. The static table and stools are to provide a seating area near the swimming pool-where people can dry off when dripping wet. There never was an umbrella provided with this table even in the photos. 4. I am very concerned that you felt that the standard of cleanliness at the villa was not what you expected. You should have brought this to our agents attention and that could have been rectified immediately. I will be passing your concerns in this area on to our agent immediately and apologise again for your disappointment in this area. 5. We do not provide a linen change during a rental period and never have. I have it advertised on the Villarenters site, that if guests require this during their stay, that they have to book this service before their rental period begins and pay extra. We do provide extra linen in the upstairs press for any linen changes that guests may carry out themselves during their stay. We provide a washing machine and lots of drying facilities. 6. I apologise again for any noise from the surrounding Villas but this we cannot control. In Spain people spend most of their time outside their homes and this can be noisy. If there was excessive dog barking you should have complained to our agent and he might have been able to track where the barking was coming from and complained to the owners to keep their dogs quiet.I know that noise can be a huge annoyance depending on an individual's tolerance to it,so again I apologise if this interfered with your enjoyment of your vacation at the Villa. I hope that I have adequately addressed your concerns and again would like to thank you for bringing these issues to our attention.

Property was spacious, immaculate, and exactly as per photos. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of spare bedding available. The kitchen was the perfect size with all the utensils you could wish for and the bathrooms were perfect. One of the holiday buddies said her shower seemed to be cold mostly although mine was fine! We hired a car to get around which was def needed as wasnt much within walking distance but to be honest once you had stocked up with food and drink from one of the local supermarkets we didnt really need to leave. There were DVDs at the villa to watch and also quite a few sky channels for the evening. There is a bar on the site which is less than 5 mins walk but is quite sedate and English...would of been nice maybe if there was a Tapas bar nearby. On the first Sat night there was loud music coming from (i assume) the disco next to the bar which was a bit annoying but only heard it that night....also the bird clock in the lounge made a few of us jump at times but it became quite endearing after a while!! All in all it was a wonderfully relaxing week in a lovely villa with most everything catered for-there was even spare beach towels!! Would def go back!
