2 out of 2 people recommend staying here

From Alton, United Kingdom Aug 2011

A lovely villa inland by around 30 minutes from the coast. A car whilst not essential (as there are buses to the coast) would be a useful addition.

The villa is set fairly close to the entrance and the superb supermarket is only 5 min walk. Word of warning, if you arrive on a Sunday after 14:30, the shop is closed.

Air conditioning and a sun trap roof terrace together with the peacefulness of the setting only enhance the charms of this villa. Communal swimming pool is a short walk away.

If you are looking for a peaceful retreat which is good value, then consider this villa. If you are looking for the bright lights or have older teenage children, there might not be enough to occupy the time.

Would I go back? Without hesitation YES!

Upon arrival we found the villa clean and very welcoming. Lovely and quiet ( with the exception of the dogs from next door which some how managed to get into the garden) but this was dealt with quickly, the villa is in a good position near the supermarket and pools, town centre 5 min walk. we had a very enjoyable time and would highly recommend it to anyone.

The Creed Family Aug 2015

travelled to Murcia with my wife and two teenage sons and we spent 12 days at the villa. It is spotlessly clean and well equipped - it has everything you need for your stay - a bit of a home from home. We flew into St Javier airport, which is ideal as it is only 20 minutes from the villa. The airport is small, so it's a case of quick in and out, collecting the hire car and driving to the villa. We landed at around 9.45am and were in the villa by 10.45/11am. The directions the owner supplied to the villa are very clear and we didn't get lost. There are directions to the nearest beach (Los Alcazares) in the villa, along with a sheet of useful information - nearest doctors etc, and a folder containing bits and bobs such as local takeaway menus and places to visit. If you have small children Los Alcazares is ideal as the water is very warm and extremely shallow. There are inexpensive cafes dotted along the beach - we'd recommend Jhonnys as it is cheap and tasty. The resort is lovely and extremely clean. We visited most of the pools and they were very well maintained and very very clean. That is something which is resort wide. The pools are 'policed' by the 'pool police'! Who make sure everyone has their arm bands on and ask you not to play ball should you be doing so! But to be honest, the pools are all fairly quiet and no-one was making a nuisance of themselves, so as soon as the 'pool police' left, ball games generally resumed! Not sure I should be saying that, but hey ho! At the time we visited, the golf clubhouse was open from 9am to 7.30pm and serves food until 7pm. It is very reasonably priced. If you've done your research, you will have found out that the hotel and some of the restaurants in the centre are closed. However, we didn't see this as a negative, the centre is not derelict or dirty - again it is spotlessly clean, some units are just closed. At the time we visited, there were 3 restaurants which opened in the evening - a tapas bar, an Italian and one other, plus an ice cream parlour and a pub, so there is enough choice should you wish to eat out on the resort. We ate in the Italian and the tapas bar and found them both inexpensive - along with the golf clubhouse. I had a game of golf at the resort - it was about £55 to play, hire clubs and a trolley. If you have your own clubs, it's about 40 euros to play. There is a notice on the noticeboard outside the pro shop saying you need a handicap certificate. I didn't have mine with me and wasn't asked for one, so I'm guessing it isn't strictly enforced. There is a Spar shop on site. It is well stocked and not overpriced. There is also a supermarket in nearby Roldan and a few more in Los Alcazares, so there is plenty of choice. Should you need to visit the pharmacy in Roldan they do speak English. The staff in the medical centre there don't, but the pharmacist offered to write me a note in Spanish for the staff there should we need it - which we thought was really kind (unfortunately my wife had an accident at the waterpark and needed stitches, hence the visit to the pharmacy for painkillers!). It was very hot when we visited, so we didn't venture too far, but if you fancied a day out, a couple to recommend are the waterpark in Benidorm - about an hour and a half drive away - it's Europe's biggest so if you have teenage kids it's worth a visit - there are a couple of other waterparks closer to the resort. Book online before you go to get a discount - otherwise expect to pay around £25 per person to get in. We also did a river rafting trip with Rafting Murcia in Blanca - about 40 minutes away - incredibly cheap at 18 euros per adult and 14 euros per child - it's a bit of a gentle paddle down a river with a couple of wears thrown in and a bit of paddle splashing, but the guides (who speak Spanglish!) are a hoot and there's a beer and baguette thrown in about 20 minutes from the end as well. We also visited a local market - there's a list of which ones are on on which day in the folder in the villa. So, all in all, we had a great time. We'd definitely recommend the resort and will go back - the villa was lovely, the weather was good, it was very cheap to eat and drink out - either on or off resort - and the resort has everything you need if you just want to relax, meander to the pool or have the odd meal out. On top of that, the owner responded quickly to any queries and was very helpful. Great holiday.

Highly recommended villa to stay. It contains all the items you need and is very clean and spacious. The owner is very helpful. The resort itself is beautifully maintained. Will be staying here again! Jamie Sep 2013

“We had a lovely time in the villa its the perfect base for a family holiday. Its close enough to the resort centre that restaurants, supermarket and a variety of swimming pools were within easy strolling distance with small children, but far enough away to feel secluded. The villa has enough space - outdoors and in - for pottering, where the air con provided welcome relief to the aforementioned small children in the still heat of the Murcian afternoon. We dined al fresco throughout our stay, and the roof terrace is a wonderful spot to watch the sun go down over a glass of Cava once the kids are in bed. The resort itself is an easy drive to the Mar Menor (which we loved), eateries in local towns and water parks, as well as more cultural attractions in Murcia and Cartagena. The pools were immaculately maintained (and patrolled), and numerous enough to swim in a different one each day for a fortnight! Back on-resort, the ice-cream parlour was also a great hit, usually around the same time as happy hour at the pub, where we took our aperitifs overlooking the lake and reflected on another days happy holiday.” June 2012

“We would highly recommend staying at La Torre, Golf Resort. Sabina Villa had good amenities, it was close to the supermarket and in walking distance from the hotel and bars as well as being clean, tidy and well equipt. The whole family enjoyed staying at the resort. We felt it was safe enough to let our teenage girl hang out with friends in the square and let the younger ones dance the night away in Bamboo. The pool party at Bamboo was lots of fun too! Our favourite restuarant was the Italian, Acacia, good food and at a reasonable price. The golf course is really well kept and played brilliantly. The hire clubs were good and a decent driving range. Some great looking holes to play. Although a car is needed to venture out (unless you wish to take the bus) we discovered lovely beaches, restaurants and a shopping mall. We will definately return next year!” July 2012

“We stayed at Richard and Nikkis villa last year in the summer holidays, our first impressions of the complex was that it was very clean, tidy and secure. It was handy having the supermarket on site that was always well stocked with fresh produce. The villa itself was as new, it was very comfortable and had a lovely homely feel to it, with everything you would need for an enjoyable stay. The swimming pool was a couple of minutes walk away and was very clean and was never over-crowded which was great, the kids spent ages in the pool. The golfing facilities were excellent and the course itself was a good test. We had a lovely family holiday here and would definitely return in the future.” Mr & Mrs C Dyer

We had such a good holiday, staying in a 5* villa, everything was there that we needed and more! The resort was excellent to make our holiday a relaxing and full entertainment and sport. I would recommend this to anyone who wanted a break in the sunshine, staying at a luxury villa in a top class resort. Mr O Palmer July 2009

We had an amazing time at your villa and have raved about it to anyone who will listen to us. Your villa was the best one we have stayed at yet and that was our third visit to the area.
