Apartment overview - owner's description

This convenient 2 bedroom apartment is ideal for families or small groups. It is situated within a gated private complex next to a 9-hole golf course. It is just a 10 minute walk to bars and restaurants, with a further 2 minutes to the beach. This is a garden apartment very close to the pool. This offers the perfect space for al-fresco dining, or simply watching the sun go down with your favourite tipple.
There are 2 bedrooms - Bedroom 1 with a double bed & Bedroom 2 with twin beds. There is also a spare fold up bed for the 5th person. It has an en-suite bathroom to bedroom 1 with bath/shower over, wash basin, wc and bidet whilst the guest bathroom offers a shower cubical, wash basin and wc.
The kitchen is fully fitted with an oven, hob, cooker hood, fridge-freezer, dishwasher ,microwave & a washing machine in the utility room just off the kitchen.
The modern living/dining room has been decorated to the highest of standards and has a comfortable sofa with a dining table and chairs. It boasts a large flat screen tv. There is a wifi modem which provides internet for emails and browsing.
The apartment is on the ground floor and has lift access from main entrance and also from the underground garage where you have 1 parking space for your use.
The property is within a gated complex , which also has three swimming pools. The stunning apartment is just a short walk from the picturesque fishing village of La Cala, with a further 2 minutes walk to the beach. Not only is it near the sea, it's also ideal for golfers, with a golf course on your doorstep and numerous others within a short drive. The apartment is just 20 minutes away from Malaga airport by car. La Cala has many restaurants and bars, plus a supermarket. On Wednesdays and Saturdays there is a traditional Spanish market, where many bargains can be had.

Really nice gated complex that is well maintained. Nice 10 minute walk to the centre of La Cala and another couple of minutes to the beach. Aldi is only a 5 minute walk away so very handy to stock up on essentials.

Unfortunately the apartment was a big let down. When we arrived on a Sunday morning we picked the keys up from a security box in the 'Let's in the Sun' doorway (why no one works in a letting office on the weekends in peak season on the Costa Del Sol is beyond me). After arriving at the apartment it took around 20 minutes getting into the apartment as the lock on the door was that stiff. We thought we had been left the wrong key. Luckily a neighbour came to our rescue and he could also not believe how bad it was, but finally got us in and showed us around and how to work the shutters etc.
Very spacious apartment with a large outside balcony/garden area that I was happy with.
Things just went downhill from here, we went to cook lunch and had to rewash all plates and cutlery as they were filty, the cupboards were also crawling with ants, both dead and alive and the pots and pans all needed rewashed. We gave up at this stage and went out for lunch. Later that night my wife and myself were up to around 2am cleaning the kitchen and under the sofa which was also disgusting. Once we gave it a good clean and stored away the dangerous broken lamp from the kids bedroom we were finally able to settle.
We had arranged for a cot at a cost of 40 euro which was a bit of a joke as it had no mattress. Again it was the weekend so couldn't get in touch with anyone so just improvised using an unused duvet instead which my son seemed happy with.

WiFi and TV were very good, they have amazon prime and netflix and the stream was excellent, really handy for our two young children when they wanted out of the sun

As I said before, beautiful complex with very friendly neighbours and holiday makers, I would definitely stay here again, but just not in this apartment.

We left the place in a bit of a rush as our airport transfer driver arrived around an hour before arranged pick up time so we left the place quite untidy. This ended up costing us 35 euro from our security deposit which I guess is understandable in normal circumstances, but after the cleaning we had done when we arrived I felt that this was slightly unfair.

This review is not accurate . The key safe is in operation for collecting keys outside office hours. The keys have never been an issue for any other guest ? The apartment was cleaned for your stay and the equipment was clean. Ants are very common in a ground floor apartment the apartment was cleaned on Thursday previous to your arrival . You were advised the cot came with no linen for hygiene reasons. You were also supplied with an emergency number on your paperwork which you did not contact during your stay no calls or messages were received from you. You left the apartment not untidy it was a total mess , rubbish everywhere wonder you had ants, toothbrushes and tooth paste lying around everywhere , child medicine bottles. A full saucepan of pasta in the fridge along with lots of other open items, rubbish on the sofa, dining table and everywhere on the terrace.

What a lovely little hidden gem. The apartment was fantastic modern, clean and just a few yards to the pool. Upon arrival we noticed that the kettle didn't work but its only a minor thing(we bought one the next day) We had a lovely welcome pack left for us containing everything to get us started on our holiday . Two bedrooms both a really nice size, kitchen fully equipped, shower room a good size and also the ensuite, the living room had dual aspect windows looking onto the terrace. The apartment has the sun all day long which was lovely. The complex is gated and contains 4 units. Everyone in the complex was friendly. It was a quiet and relaxing break. With only a 10 min stroll into La Cala town all on the flat with no hills to conquer.
I would recommend this apartment and cant wait to visit again it was an absolute pleasure to stay in.
