La Azohia , situated at the end of the beautiful Mazarron Bay in the south east corner of Spain, is a small fishing village where time has stood still. The bay is south facing and the duplex apartment has stunning unimpeded views from the large roof sun terrace and from the two balconies. There are fish here for which there is no English translation , they don’t export them and they are unknown in England. The bay has no high rise hotels and the sunset from the apartment and from the ‘Aussie Bar’ are just fantastic. We’re told that sunrise is spectacular too but have never been up early enough to experience it! The peninsula of Cabo Tinoso is a short drive from La Azohia and the road to it and the views from it are breathtaking.

The Apartment
The apartment is five years old, is fully air conditioned and has been finished to a very high standard. There are two (double) bedrooms and a sofa bed in the large lounge so can sleep 6 if requested. The kitchen is more than sufficient for all your culinary needs. There is a large roof sun terrace with an awning to enable all day use. It has a large table, chairs and a BBQ There are two communal pools very close to the apartment and a friendly bar which is open all day but does not intrude on the peaceful nature of the area. The beach is a 5 minute walk away and has a gently sloping sea bed to enable safe swimming. There is a lifeguard during the summer season and warning flags.

Places nearby
Puerto de Mazarron is a 20 minute drive away along the coast and has all the shops, bars and reataurants you could need for a perfect holiday. There is an excellent Tourist Information Centre in the town. Across the mountains in the other direction is the much larger city of Cartagena. Shopaholics better steer clear of El Corte Ingles, a sort of combination of Harrods, John Lewis and Selfidges. It is also an extremely interesting historic naval port dating back to pre Roman times.
Access to La Azohia is easy from Murcia (San Javier) Airport and is around 40 minutes drive away. Alicante Airport is another 40 minutes up the coast

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cet appartement à la vue magnifique. Il comprend tout ce qui est nécessaire au bon déroulement des vacances. Nous avons bien apprécié le calme, le soleil et les plages. Dommage que les contacts sur place ne parle absolument pas le français.

the apartment was spotlessly clean is extremely well equipped and is a credit to the owner . the staff were very helpful .however we were not getting to the resort till out of hours a surcharge for the key, which in the end was resolved without a cost. we loved the resort , apartment, and the area

We enjoyed our stay in La Zohia. The apartment was clean and bright and was probably the best equipped apartment we have ever stayed in. It was also well located being just a 5 minute stroll to the excellent beach and between 10 and 15 minute stroll to bars and restaurants in the village. The local bar on the San Gines complex is just a few metres away but was not intrusive in any way. There is also a nice pool in the complex, but we did not use it with the sea being so near. Towns like Mazzaron and Cartagena are a 10 and 20 minute drive away respectively, giving access to an extensive number of bars, restaurants and places of interest. Directions to the apartment were good and somebody was available on site to hand over the key, show us around the apartment and to deal with any issues, though we did not have any during our stay. We would certainly recommend this apartment to friends.

My wife and I bought this apartment in 2005 and stay in it ourselves 3 or 4 times a year. It therefore has a very homely feel to it. We are both retired and always look forward to coming out to this lovely part of Spain.
