Arenal (sandy beach) - obviously popular in the warmer months, with plenty of shops, restaurants, cafés and bars. The beach is in a crescent shape and is very shallow so excellent for younger children. Beside the canal you can hire a speed boat to explore the Javea´s natural coves and bays, inaccessible on foot. Nearby on the rocky beach north of the Arenal are numerous beach bars and more sea-front restaurants as well as jet-ski and windsurf hire.

The Port - about 2km from the sandy beach you arrive at the port. Still a small picturesque working fishing village, the port has a wonderfully authentic atmosphere with many pedestrian areas where families spend warm summer evenings either at one of the many restaurants or cafés while they watch their children play.

The Old Town - steeped in tradition, Javea´s old town is one of the prettiest villages on the Costa Blanca. Located up a hill leaving the port, this is the original village of Javea and still inhabited by local families. The atmosphere here is "true Spanish" with no sign of souvenir shops and where the local people tend to live, shop and work. The daily fresh food market is in the historic almost pedestrian centre where you will also find restaurants and the real Spanish tapas bars.

Family from Seer Green, United Kingdom Aug 2014

The villa was in an excellent location with great views over the town of Javea. The balcony was a great place to relax with fantastic seating (although only for 5-6 people) and the pool and decking were superb. Given the villa location the breeze is a real comfort from the sun! The only downside here is that the sea view is only from the main bedroom terrace and a bit of a squint down the side of the villa in front.

The kitchen equipment and fittings were to an extremely high quality and the inside was well furnished, with lovely artwork, English TV for the kids, games and toys.

However, we did feel that, given the cost was at the top end of villa rentals, the service was lacking in a couple of areas. Firstly, we were there for two weeks and did not have any maid service or any change of towels. We holiday in villas every year and this is the first time ever we have not at least two cleans and one change of towels, or at least a tumble drier so that we could dry the towels ourselves.

In addition, on arrival there as no bread, milk, pepper, sufficient toilet roll or any kind of welcome pack, although we were shown around by the main contact, who spoke excellent English and was very helpful and informative with respect to local amenities. Many of the lamps also did not have bulbs in and we had to phone up our contact who, to be fair, provided some the very next day but did not fit them.

Finally, we used the "contact owner" facility and had no response to questions we posted.

Overall the accommodation was first rate but lacked the personal touches that the price warrants.

Beautiful villa in a lovely setting, high up above Javea. Still only 5 minutes car or 15 mins walking down to the sea front/port. The house was very well kept and very modern/well designed. The outdoor spaces were particularly good, with a deck off the master bedroom, another covered deck with lovely cushioned seating off the kitchen/living area and similar down off the pool. The pool itself was very clean and there was ample seating and room to lounge around! The house felt like a (plush) home from home and we found absolutely everything that we needed on hand. The local contact Sabine was extremely helpful. We had 4 children under 3 years old with us and they had a ball, loving the pool and getting great use of the large living room and the play room downstairs. Of course, it was necessary to keep an eye on them with the stairs going to the pool and in the house but that cant be helped. I would recommend this house 100%. The only downside would be the very steep driveway which might be a problem for a nervous driver! All in all a wonderful stay.

This is a beautiful house. The architecture, decoration and equipment are wonderful. Everything is made with good taste. The location is really fine, not far from the port, with shops and restaurants. So we can only advise people to choose this house, provided that the main point herebelow is solved.
Actually, we regret 2 points, because the 1st one spoiled what could have been a perfect stay in this marvellous house:
1/ the area was said to be quiet, which is normally the case, but there were construction works in front of us when we were here, making noise during the week days. We would have appreciated to be warned about this as it disturbed what could have been a real great time, and we could have changed our choice. So check if new works are planned in the future.
2/ we could not connect to the web with the house wireless system, despite 2 different computers we had and despite phone calls to our hotlines. So we had to go to a local internet office in the city.

Thank you for your lovely comments. I was unaware of the building works at a nearby villa. I will check the noise level during the weekdays and let future bookers know. No doubt, it will be finished by the 2009 season. I was also disappointed to hear that you were unable to hook up to the wireless internet system. No one else has had that problem so far. I know how important it is to have Wifi if you are expecting it and had you let us know while you were there, we would have sent someone to see what the problem was. Our on-site representative, Sabine, is on call to help or give advice to our guests at Villa Corona. Please do use her knowledge of the area to recommend restaurants, charter a boat for your party or even organise a childminder. She certainly could have resolved the Wifi issue.

From Ascot

Great property, very well equipped with all items needed. Great playroom on the pool level.

it was useful being able to use the PC as a guest to collect emails.

My only critic is the property was advertised as having sat TV, which it does but with only one UK channel, BBC World, it could do with having move UK options.

We took young children and you do need to keep an eye on them as the stairs from the middel floor to the pool deck are tricky but we all really enjoyed the stay and would consider renting the villa again.

Thank you for your review. With regards the satellite TV, the villa is rented by many different nationalities. It has Sat TV but, naturally, being in Spain, they are mainly Spanish channels with a selection of foreign-speaking channels.

What a beautiful villa with stunning views and so tastefully furnished to the highest specification. We had a fantastic holiday in all respects and for all ages in our party. I would agree that the only thing missing was a full length mirror but then probably a good thing after all the delicious food. I would not hesitate to go back again and suggest to friends. Thank you to the owners for being so generous with their beautiful home-I had the most relaxing holiday for years. I did not feel like I was staying in a rented accommodation-it was a real home!

From Hertfordshire

When we arrived at the property we were absolutley amazed the property was finished to a very high specification in almost all respects. The only thing I would add is a full length mirror as there were none available also very difficult to use the mirrors inthe bathrooms for applying make up a full length one would have sorted this. The only other thing was a distinct lack of tea towels to dry glasses. Other than that the villa was fantastic and these two things did not spoil our stay.
