Overview

La Tarraula is the ground floor apartment of a large villa set in a 2000m2 (half an acre) garden and available for Short Breaks and Holidays plus longer periods through the winter.
The apartment has its own entrance and has been recently renovated to a very high standard. This one bedroom holiday accommodation consists of a comfortable living room, an attractive kitchen area, double bedroom and bathroom with a walk-in shower cubicle.
The living room has a television with UK free-view channels, a DVD player, CD player and radio, and comfortable furniture.
There is also a free wi-fi broadband facility!
The modern kitchen is equipped with an oven, hob, extractor fan, fridge, microwave oven. A large range of cutlery, crockery and cooking dishes are supplied for comfortable home catering and the bedroom has a super kingsize double bed that can be made into two single beds if required. A washing machine is available for guests to use.
With combined air conditioning/heater units covering the whole of the apartment, this holiday apartment is also suitable for winter holidays. The air-conditioning units are the inverter inverter type units that use about 40% less electricity than normal units. For security and safety the apartment has a safe for guests use, smoke alarms, a CO2 detector and has been awarded a gas safety certificate.

The villa is situated in a very quiet residential area, The garden is secluded and spacious and there is ample secure parking on the drive. There is a large 10m x 5m swimming pool accessed via 6 steps.

Outside the apartment is a terrace with sun beds, table, chairs and sunshade to make your time by the pool comfortable and relaxing. You can enjoy the warm Mediterranean evenings beside the private pool with a glass of wine, or go for a late night dip in the pool which has underwater lighting. This apartment contains every amenity for a relaxing holiday.

Since the apartment is situated below the villa, guests may occasionally find the owners using the pool or garden. Pets are welcome by arrangement but please note that the owners have two friendly dogs and three cats from the local rescue centre. Smoking is not permitted in the apartment and the owners have public liability insurance.

Apartment La Tarraula is only 2km (1.25m miles) from the Javea golf club and local restaurant but a car is recommended as the local roads do not have street lights nor pavements and the main towns of Javea and Moraira, with their beaches, shops and restaurants are 9km (5.5 miles) Situated on a sheltered peninsula, the town of Javea is only approximately an hour drive from both Valencia and Alicante airports, and so choosing a convenient and inexpensive flight from the U.K. is easy. Within a few minutes drive from the apartment, you have access to many bars, restaurants, shops as well as the popular Arenal beach area. From this location you can visit many well-known resorts such as Denia, Moraira and Calpe, as well as being able to drive into the mountains and explore unspoilt Spanish villages with spectacular views.
Javea has the old town, the port area, and the more modern El Arenal beach area that each provide a selection of shops, restaurants and other attractions. There is a long beach of Toscar stone as well as pebble beaches and a sandy bay. In the summer the beach bars and the market stalls at El Arenal provide an interesting atmosphere to enjoy on a stroll or just sitting around well into the night. Each Thursday is the local market with an abundance of fresh vegetables and fruit as well as CDs, perfumes, clothes, bags, toys, etc. etc. There are two excellent golf courses near Javea and the town also has its fair share of Fiestas throughout the year that are always an enjoyable occasion. Javea is an ideal centre for visiting other attractions and places of interest on the Costa Blanca. Nearby is the Montgo Mountain that looks like an elephant and it is possible to climb to the top of this where you will be rewarded with some spectacular views. The safari park at Vergel and caves at Benidoleig are a short drive away as are the nearby towns of Denia, Moraira and Calpe. The nearby village of Gata is well known for its wicker goods and here also is a Spanish guitar factory that you can look around. The waterfalls at Bollula are featured on some of the postcards and the pretty village of Guadalest perched on a rock is famous for hand made lace. Benidorm is only 40 minutes drive and offers the huge aqua park Aqualandia , sea world (Mundo Mar) and the new Terra Mitica Disney style theme park. Here also is the Benidorm Palace that put on some excellent stage shows with dinner included if you wish.

Just returned from staying at Ian and Sues lovely apartment. It was well equipped and we had problems what so ever. Sue, Ian, Pip and Molli made us feel very welcome. WE HAVE SPENT 8 HAPPY WEEKS IN THIS VERY PLEASANT APARTMENT. IT WAS WELL EQUIPPED AND HAD EVERYTHING WE NEEDED. ON ARRIVING WE WERE GIVEN SUCH A WARM WELCOME BY THE OWNERS IAN AND SUE WHO HAVE BEEN SO FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. WE SO ENJOYED SHARING THEIR ANIMALS WHO GAVE US SO MUCH PLEASURE. WE WOULD NOT HESITATE TO RECOMMEND THIS APARTMENT TO ANYONE WANTING TO SPEND QUALITY TIME IN THIS BEAUTIFUL PART OF SPAIN.

I didnt make use of the property facilities as I was only staying in the area to visit family/friends. However, the setting was pretty with a nice pool & garden area and the location was central, if you wish to visit Teulada or Javea. Nearest supermarket & shops 10 mins drive. The apartment is not luxurious but contains all the ameneties you would expect, apart from the washing machine, which is in the owners villa. Air con in the bedroom in the middle of summer was greatly appreciated. Bathroom with shower only, is new and modern although some flushing problems with the toilet, which I expect will be temporary. One portable TV in large sitting room but I didnt use so not sure if multi channels available. Oner was friendly but not intrusive. I would stay here again.

I recently stayed with Sue and Ian for a month, and it felt like a week! I would readily have stayed for a further month if time allowed. The accommodation was excellent, and for January the local restaurants and facilities were more than adequate. Dont normally like dogs, but Sue and Ians immediately won me over! English TV was OK, but a bit of Spanish would have been welcome (sorry Ian!) That said, everything else was perfect, and I would have no hesitation in begging to stay again!

Stayed at La Tarraula commencing 15 May. The accommodation exceeded my expectations, and was extremely clean and well equipped. With a car, the location is terrific, as apart from the main coastal resorts, there are lots of smaller pebbly bays to visit and traditional restaurants to be found. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. We travelled with a small dog and the owners insisted on frequently doggy-checking when he was left within the cool apartment whilst we were battling outdoors with the heat, even in May! Would not hesitate to rebook should the occasion arise to visit the area again.

My boyfriend and I stayed in Ian and Sue's fantastic holiday apartment last summer for a blissful, relaxed week. They are fantastic, friendly and discrete hosts who made us feel very welcome and at home. We had full use of the pool and beautifully kept garden. The apartment is clean, tidy and got every appliance you should need. A car is must but the area has so much to see and do anyway. We explored loads of stunning pebble beaches, climbed a few hills (v v hot in July) and explored the local historical sights. Being a little away from the main tourist haunts, i,e, Benidorm, the area feels a little more authentic and Spanish. We will definitely be back! Recommended for: Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway
