Javea is divided into 3 areas:
Arenal (sandy beach) - obviously popular in the warmer months, with plenty of shops, restaurants, cafés and bars. The beach is in a crescent shape and is very shallow so excellent for younger children. Beside the canal you can hire a speed boat to explore the Javea´s natural coves and bays, inaccessible on foot. Nearby on the rocky beach north of the Arenal are numerous beach bars and more sea-front restaurants as well as jet-ski and windsurf hire.
The Port - about 2km from the sandy beach you arrive at the port. Still a small picturesque working fishing village, the port has a wonderfully authentic atmosphere with many pedestrian areas where families spend warm summer evenings either at one of the many restaurants or cafés while they watch their children play.
The Old Town - steeped in tradition, Javea´s old town is one of the prettiest villages on the Costa Blanca. Located up a hill leaving the port, this is the original village of Javea and still inhabited by local families. The atmosphere here is "true Spanish" with no sign of souvenir shops and where the local people tend to live, shop and work. The daily fresh food market is in the historic almost pedestrian centre where you will also find restaurants and the real Spanish tapas bars.
Overall we had a very pleasant stay in a comfortable clean quiet villa with a nice swimming pool (still smaller than you expect based on the picture). The negative comments would be on : first the beds which are really uncomfortable and the bed linen which is disappointing, second the air conditioning in bedrooms are only fans which are quite noisy, third just a detail but the see-saw which is pretty badly set up and dangerous.

A lovely comfortable and clean villa. The pool and garden area were beautiful and we really made a lot of use of this which we loved. We had a couple of minor problems when we first arrived of the table umbrella being broken and needing an extra fan inside and this was dealt with immediately by the reservation team and a maintenance lady was sent to replace the umbrella and to give us a fan to use. The villa could do with air-conditioning being fitted as it was SOOOO hot but you do get used to it after a while. A car is essential as nothing is walking distance so if you like to walk to anything, this villa is no good. A mid-stay clean and change of bed linen and towels was an extra cost but I think this should all be included in the cost of hiring a villa for 2 weeks. Overall we had a lovely holiday and it was a very nice villa.

the property was very nice, lay out of the house and the garden was lovely, the only down side is the main bed needs to be updat ed as was very uncomfortable and we suffered bad back most days because of it, the house does not have air con and the fans are very wobbly and noisy so we couldnt use so we had window open most nights but had to close early each morning as house next door were very noisy late at night and then early in the morning. if the owners were able to updat e the main bed and install an air con unit then we would highly recommend the property as no other faults with the property
Thank you for your comments and suggestions. This is the first mention that the master bed is uncomfortable and we shall have a look at that. With regards the wobbly fans, we would have appreciated your mentioning it at the time so that we could have sent our maintenance man to adjust. We have an on-site office in Javea with a housekeeping manager, maintenance man, as well as other staff to attend to our guests needs. Nevertheless, we are pleased that your stay overall was a pleasant one and we look forward to seeing you again. Regards, Sabrina Fisch.
