Apartment overview - owner's description

The apartment has been recently refurbished and is a perfect choice for a holiday. There is a master bedroom and a twin room . The american style kitchen is very well equipped with oven, hob, fridge freezer and dishwasher and all the utensils needed for preparing meals. There is a dining area which seats four.
The bathrooms both have walk in showers and there is a washing machine.
The apartment has english speaking channels and a dvd player for your enjoyment and the terrace has a table and chairs where you can enjoy the views. Wi-Fi is free in the apartment.
Torrenueva is a very popular area adjoining the village of La Cala de Mijas with its award winning beach.
Jardin Botanico has lots to offer for breakfast and lunch you will find Snack Attack which also has an internet café. Bartutta is a popular evening venue for drinks and there are lots of restaurants to choose from. There are a travel agency La Cala Blue offering excursions and theme park tickets, hairdressers and various shops.
La Calla village offers a wide selection of bars and restaurants and local shops. There are supermarkets and bakeries for fresh supplies for the fridge. There are several not to be missed places. The Little Geranium for a gastronomic experience, Venta Sorroche for cheap local fare and some great fish restaurants on the beach. Nightlife can be found at the glitzy Olivia’s la Cala venue and live entertainment at Legends all easy to locate.
The beach at La Cala seems to stretch forever and has a boardwalk all the way into Riviera so you can stroll along the beach.
There are frequent bus services to Marbella and Fuengirola and from there you can connect to Malaga, Seville and Madrid.

The village of La Cala is very popular but retains its charm, you can still see the fishing boats on the beach and then mingle with the locals in the bars and restaurants. There are plenty of supermarkets, and local shops and a market every Wednesday and Saturday.

Lovely, well equipped property with sunny terrace and nice views. Lovely modern bathrooms with sliding doors, one of which was jammed. The bedding looked a bit used and my wife washed it before use although this did not remove stains. The showers have doors which don't prevent egress of water. This means a mopping up job after use, and leaves a mouldy smell in the bedroom. I could not get a specific enough address that a transfer company recognised (tried 3) & finally rented a car, The directions were superb and made it easy to find. Not far from beach, although the apartment is the wrong side of the motorway which means you have to use the pedestrian flyover. Not recommended for those with mobility difficulties. We drove down the road to the main town free car park daily which gave us a level walk into town and the beach. Much of the complex is populated by owner/occupiers most of whom have dogs. The barking continues day and night. Despite all the drawbacks, we enjoyed our stay here, but would not return.

We had a very pleasant 2 week stay at this well equipped and modern apartment. It was roomy enough for 4 adults. The view from the balcony out to sea is exactly as the photo in the advert. The complex has a very nice pool and toddlers pool which were never busy probably due to the period of stay - the pool temperature was just right. The local area is as described, a selection of bars and restaurants. For food shopping etc., Lidl supermarket is a 15 minute walk.
The beach is also about 15 minute walk with a selection of beach bars serving food and providing sunbeds and parasols (5 euro per bed with mattress).
The main part of the village is a bit further walking but about 7 euro fare to get home after the pub!
A few niggly things to point out. The apartment is on a hill so walking home from the local bars is a little challenging if you have mobility issues - we all found it ok (all 50+).
The shower doors need attention as the water gets through the seal and soaks the bath mat.
The television is a bit fiddly to work out but the channel selection is brilliant - Sky Sports included.
The complex pool area is laid to lawn, with a few parasols for shade. However as it is communal there are no sunbeds provided so its back to the old days of laying on your towel!
Overall though I would recommend this apartment and the staff at the local office are very helpful.

Lovely little appartment with great views and picturesque surroundings. Leaky shower a bit annoying. 10 minute easy amble to the beach and 15 mins to the centre of La Cala although plenty of bars and restaurants within a few minutes. If you don't mind a little walk, can highly recommend this as excellent value for money. This is my second stay at this appartment and would use it again.

We rent an apartment in beautiful La Cala de Mijas twice a year and have stayed in this delightful complex previously in a 1 bedroomed apartment. We were delighted to find a refurbished apartment on the web site which seemed to offer all of the facilities we wanted.
Difficulties occurred prior to departure as managing agents had sent contact information to a misspelt email address which was only discovered when management and security payments were required necessitating costly telephone charges.
On arrival there was no power in the apartment, no key had been provided for the balcony and due to heavy rain the balcony and its furniture were covered in grit washed off the roof.
A visit to the office followed and we were assured that the keys we had been given were the ones previous renters had been given. After some discussion a second set were provided. We were told that nothing could be done about the poor state of the balcony as the rain had caused the problem.
On our return to the apartment we effected a clean up of the balcony then tried to make a cup of tea and immediately the power tripped. This happened each timemthe kettle was switched on. A call to the agents was greeted by an answer phone service but no return call was received.
All of the appliances in this attractive apartment were new with the exception of the air conditioning and television. No instruction booklets were provided.
The advert detailed TV English language, local, but were were unable to access any.
Overhead fans in the bedrooms had been set but only for fan not fan and light. In order to alter this a ladder was required but none was provided. An electrician who came 2 days later agreed that the kettle was faulty and was causing the power failure. He also reset the fans.
New shower cubicles had been installed but water seeped out onto the floor when
used. Thankfully a mop was available.
We really enjoyed our time in La Cala as usual but could have lived without the stress of the first few days.
Apartment Casablanca is a beautiful apartment on a delightful complex.I am happy for this quote to be used.
However inaccurate advertisement and lack of appliance operating information need be addressed.
A 5 minute visit to us at the apartment by a member of the managing agency would have saved a great deal of stress instead of dealing with our concerns unsympathetically by email.

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately your day of arrival followed by the worst storm we have had in 10 years which resulted in no one having electricity in the area. The apartment is brand new and fully functioning however due to the bad weather some unexpected issues occurred which we are very sorry for. Regards
