Our stunning Penthouse Apartment situated on a Jack Nicklaus designed par 72 championship golf course has been furnished to a high standard. Peaceful, tranquil, beautiful gardens and communal pools.


We knew we wanted to retire overseas to a warm climate, somewhere where my husband could play golf and while visiting the Murcia area we stumbled accross the plans for Hacienda Riquelme Golf Resort. We loved the low density build and that has not disappointed.

The whole emphasis of this resort is one of peace and tranquility with wonderfully landscaped gardens and is set around a Jack Nicklaus designed 18 hole golf course.

This was back in 2004 and we try to spend as much time here as possible, it is just so relaxing. We plan to retire in a few years time and are looking forward to spending longer periods here. The weather in Murcia is very mild making it an ideal destination for holidays both in the summer and winter months.

The province of Murcia is famous for its salt lakes (salt is a major export). This has a major knock on effect on humidity levels, and as a result the air is much dryer than in other parts of Spain and Europe. The low humidity levels coupled with a mild climate, mean the WHO (World Health Organisation) have rated this part of Spain one of the healthiest climates on the planet. Can't think of a better place to be.


The 2 bedroom apartment was designed with both rustic and contemporary design themes. It is open plan and has been furnished to a very high standard to cater for all your needs.

Walk into the tastefully furnished open plan lounge - dining area and you will find a comfortable sitting area with cream leather sofa, including a flat screened TV with cable television including English channels and a DVD, this takes you through to the dining area with a beautiful polished table and 4 leather chairs.

From the dining area the patio doors lead you onto the outdoor terrace where you can relax on the sun loungers or sit in comfort eating alfresco and dine in elegance at the outside dining area.

The views from the terrace are amazing; you have front line views of the golf course, taking in the 10th tee, the 9th and 18th green, one of the lakes, the town centre and the mountain range beyond.

The fully fitted kitchen with appliances including oven, halogen hob, fridge-freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, pots, pans and utensils. An ironing board and iron is also supplied. You will find a cool box to enable you to keep your items chilled going to the beach etc or to take to the supermarket. Everything to meet your self-catering needs.
A fire blanket in the kitchen, smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector have been placed in the apartment as your safety is important to us.

Walking from the lounge area, the hall leads to the tastefully furnished master bedroom fitted with Egyptian cotton bed linen, built in wardrobe, set of drawers, bedside cabinets and a vanity unit with mirror. A hair dryer is also supplied. The bed in the master bedroom is configured as superking size. Good quality mattresses have been selected for your comfort.

French doors lead off the bedroom to a covered terrace with table and chairs, to perhaps enjoy your morning coffee.

The second bedroom is beautifully finished including Egyptian cotton bed linen with twin beds of the same high quality as the master bedroom and can also be configured as superking if required.

This also has French doors leading off the bedroom to a covered terrace with seating area.

In the well fitted bathroom you will find a bath, with shower over, vanity unit with mirror above, WC and bidet.

You will find air conditioning in the lounge-dining area and the bedrooms, also gas central heating for the cooler months of the year.

All towels including beach towels are supplied for your convenience.


The nearest pool is approx 50 metres away from the apartment.

The recently renovated Hacienda, a 19th century, colonial style building which was the former residence of the Riquelme family is now the Town Centre which is built around a grand courtyard with olive and lemon trees with seating areas. This leads to a fully stocked supermarket with an in-house bakery, it also boasts the ‘El Cason’ restaurant which serves evening meals and other meals and snacks during the day.

If you walk up the grand staircase from the restaurant foyer this will take you to a lovely relaxation area.

Town Centre facilities also include the pro golf shop, changing rooms with showers and just a short stroll away you will find the golf driving range, putting and chipping green with practice bunker

Or why not stop at the outside ‘Dovecote bar’ after your round of golf, have a drink and check your score or stop on the way to the supermarket for a coffee. This boasts fantastic views down the golf course.

Golf Clubs can be left in the apartment for your convenience, (at no charge) please speak to owner when booking, we only ask that these are left in clean condition when you leave. Just let us know if you would like these.

There are numerous children’s play parks around the resort.

Come and enjoy some time in our truly amazing penthouse apartment on a breath-taking resort in the unspoilt and spectacular costal region of the Costa Calida.

Hiring a car is definitely recommended, but not absolutely essential, it depends what you want to do, relax or explore.

Wonderful, and really well equipped apartment overlooking the 10th Tee with fabulous views from the roof top terrace. Its close to both the Hacienda Riqulelmes main compound and most importantly the Spar supermarket. It is also very close to (easily) the best childrens play ground on the resort, many others we met at the play area had driven from the other side of the resort just to let their children us this facility. Will definitely book again.

Great stay in property 15 mins from airport,15 mins from beach,15 mins from town with lots of shopping and restaurants. 5 Mins from local Spanish village. The appt is extremely well equipped and on 3rd floor and even in high temps cool breeze blowing through. The roof sun terrace has sun 12 hours a day with fantastic views of golf course and hacienda. The restaurant and bar facilities on site excellent and on site supermarket cheap and well stocked for all your needs. Swimming pool 50 mts appt and never busy. This is a fantastic place to stay for a chilled Spanish holiday with weather guaranteed. Highly Recommended!
What a lovely penthouse apartment. We stayed in June and had a great time. The apartment was well furnished and the view of the golf course was superb. The golf course itself was great, but we also ventured further afield to try other courses which was worth the effort. The resort complex itself is well looked after and provides for a safe and secure environment. The underground parking was a blessing keeping our hire car cool from the Spanish sunshine. The local bar and restaurant which we used a lot was also very good and reasonably priced. The proximity of the airport, villages and even the coast made this a great location. A relaxing holiday was had by all I would definitely go again.

We stayed in this apartment in July with our 5 year old son, the apartment and all of the amenities were even better than we could have expected. Our 5 year old loved the pool, the playgrounds and even the driving range (where he developed an affinity for the sport), we were never short of something to do. The golf course is excellent, I would definately recommend getting a golf cart, especially if playing around midday. The quaint village of Sucina is well worth a visit, it is as yet largely untouched by tourism. Overall we had a wonderful stay!

Thank you for letting us stay in your fantastic apartment, we love everything about it, the children spend most days making new friends around the pool. The apartment has everything we need to make out stay special. This area is so peaceful and quiet it makes for a relaxing holiday. In the evenings we sit outside on the wonderful terrace and take in the views. We will definately book with you again!

Luxurious egyptian cotton bed linen supplied for your comfort. Beds can be configured as superking or twin (please request on booking). Towels and beach towels are provided. (Please do not take the white bathroom towels to the pool area or beach). There is ample parking bays outside the apartment but you can also use the designated underground parking bay to ensure your vehicle stays cool in the summer sun, then take the lift from the garage direct to your apartment.
