A great holiday starts with great accommodation (and fantastic weather!).
This stylish apartment stands out because it has been furnished and decorated to a high standard and offers luxury accommodation for 4 people. Redecorated and updated in 2019 with new furniture, fridge freezer and microwave.
Fully air-conditioned throughout including both bedrooms (a must), the apartment is equipped with a 40" HD Smart TV with all UK channels, and FREE wireless internet access.
The lounge offers comfortable seating, and there is a formal dining table that seats 4 people in style. The sliding patio doors lead from the lounge onto a large covered terrace which has wonderful views of the 14th hole, the orange groves, and the mountains beyond. The terrace is west facing and captures the afternoon and evening sun. It’s the perfect place to eat or relax with a drink and enjoy the spectacular sunsets for which this region is renowned.
You’ll be impressed with the fully equipped and spacious kitchen. There is a dishwasher, washing machine, large fridge freezer, microwave oven, ceramic hob and electric oven and grill with extractor fan. There is also a toaster, kettle, coffee maker, electric juice press and plenty of crockery, cutlery and pots and pans. There is even a Nespresso coffee machine and milk frother, so if you are a convert please bring some pods.
The bathroom offers a bath with shower over, wash-handbasin and toilet. The gas combi-boiler ensures instant, unlimited hot water. Towels are provided.
Both bedrooms open onto a large balcony so you can enjoy the morning sun, and they each have built-in wardrobes with plenty of storage. You’ll also find hair driers and hair straighteners. The bedrooms can be configured to either provide comfortable twin 3ft singles in each room or super king doubles.
There is a fantastic communal pool right next to the apartment block and you can enjoy tempting views of it from the balcony terrace. We provide 4 luxury sun beds, a parasol (a must in the summer,) and beach towels.
Guests at our apartment can also use any of the other beautiful pools dotted around the resort - some have separate children's pools and some have jacuzzis. There are also several children's play areas one of which is close to the apartment. There is an outdoor gym, 2 tennis hard courts, 2 padel tennis courts, 2 boules pitches and a multi-sports area just a stone’s throw from the apartment. You’ll find a range of sports equipment (tennis racquets and balls, boules etc) in the apartment. We also have 2 adult bicycles available for hire for £50 per week for the pair. This include bike locks and helmets.
If have a large family or group of friends, we have another apartment just 1 floor below in the same block (property ref 51674).
You can park in your designated bay (1815) in the underground car park and access the lift from here which takes you right to the apartment door.
Hacienda Riquelme is a well established and delightful resort with tree lined roads and amazing flower beds and shrubs. It’s a great place for either a family holiday or a relaxing break. This gated community provides a safe and attractive environment for your holiday. The resort centre is built around the original Hacienda and now houses the bar and restaurant, supermarket and Pro Shop. In the high season, the magnificent courtyard opens up to provide an additional al-fresco Italian restaurant serving homemade pastas and delicious Pizzas. You can even order them to take away. In addition, in July and August the Paloma Bar which is adjacent to the 9th green, offers a range of cocktails and is a wonderful place to unwind.
The 18 hole championship Jack Nicklaus golf course is a wonderful test of golf. However, despite the fantastic golf course and resulting views from the apartment, most people come here for the peace and tranquillity the resort offers out of season, or the fantastic weather and pools in high season. There is something here for everyone as well as many beautiful unspoilt beaches and lots of places to explore including the ancient cities of Murcia and Cartagena, with the recently discovered Roman amphitheatre.
If you enjoy your wine, the region of Jumilla and Yecla are just a little further on from Murcia. You can visit the Bodegas and enjoy their wares and some even offer lunch.
There's lots of choice of what to do in the Costa Calida - and even a choice of which Sea to go to! You can choose between the Mediterranean Sea, & the lesser known Mar Menor (little sea). The Med beaches include some fabulous white sand walks that the locals favour, while the Mar Menor is an inland sea/salt water lake separated from the Mediterranean by La Manga (the sleeve) del Mar Menor; otherwise known as the La Manga strip.
It is favoured amongst families with small children due to its warm, shallow & salty waters (salt makes you float more easily). The area is all extremely family friendly and there are many little bars and cafes to help the holiday experience!
Some of our favourite local places: Cartagena (there are some idyllic hidden beaches with restaurants for a memorable lunch or two); Playa Honda, where the beaches are quiet, safe and have wonderful sand; San Pedro; San Javier (jump on the boat across the Mar Menor to La Manga for lunch and a swim) and even the beaches at Los Alcazares can be wonderful and enjoy the a long lazy promenade on the boardwalk. Try Restaurant La Encarnacion and be sure to have a look at its amazing courtyard. You can hire bicycles, water sport equipment and go diving or sea fishing.
For golfers there are plenty of other courses nearby to enjoy, you’ll be spoilt for choice.

Had another fantastic holiday here. The views from the balcony are amazing, and we spent many hours sat there enjoying the sun. The apartment is very highly equipped, and was spotlessly clean when we arrived. We didn't lack anything that we needed, and really couldn't fault anything. Would definitely recommend staying here.
Lovely apartment with great views - golf really enjoyable but challenging rough & bunkers. Swimming pool was excellent with comfortable loungers provided. Nice beach areas within 30 minutes of apartment. Really appreciated the facilities at the apartment - it made for a most relaxing break. Would like to return in the future.
We (2 adults, 15yo and 13yo) had a fantastic time here, staying in September 2018. The views from the balcony are amazing, and we spent many hours sitting in the really comfy chairs, reading, chatting, and enjoying the wonderful weather. The apartment is superb - if it is too sunny on the main balcony, then there is a smaller balcony on the other side of the building. It had everything that you need, and the kitchen was especially well equipped. Often we find that holiday accommodation is not geared up for people actually wanting to cook, but the kitchen here had everything that we needed, including sharp knives!! The pool is fantastic, and it was great that we could allow our children to be there while we watched from the balcony (12yo and under need adult supervision round the pool). We didn't use the golf facilities, but did use the tennis and the multi-sports court for football, when it was cool enough. Many thanks for allowing us to stay here - we hope to return at some point.
Great things about the apartment:
The spacious beds, they were very comfortable. There was also the option of making up the sofa bed which was also very comfortable, even just to sit on.
The decor is modern and the colour schemes all compliment each other.
Sitting outside on either terrace in the evening was a must, after a busy or relaxing day, to be able to sit outside on comfortable furniture and chill out was lovely and I feel helped set me up for a good night sleep.
The air con is great!! I’ve never slept so well after the air con making my room just the right temperature for me to comfortably sleep.
The bathroom is spacious and has both a bath and shower and towels provided.
The kitchen is just the right size and the fridge/freezer is too, I really liked the convenience of the freezer part. The microwave, oven and hob were all easy to use to prepare meals, the dishwasher came in very handy.
The apartment itself is located near an excellent pool, which is just a short ride in the lift, turn out of the apartment, walk a few feet and you’re basically there. We found after doing a little pool hopping, that our pool was the best.
Some places we visited within the area:
Murcia - city centre, beautiful cathedral, just don’t go on a Sunday afternoon like we did, not much open!
La manga - having the option of beach either side of the strip, great place that is always buzzing whenever we went!
Los Alcázares- long stretch of beach that everything was just convenient, we had tapas at a beach hut cafe, definitely recommend tapas.
Calle cortina- a beautiful beach that is filled with rock pools, we saw some amazing colourful fish!!
Cartagena- we didn’t stop long here as we were always doing something, we did visit the massive carrefour!!
San Pedro del Pinatar- FLAMINGOS!! It was an experience seeing them not behind bars in a zoo, can’t recommend enough to go and visit the wild flamingos.
Overall our family holiday was great, the apartment is fabulous and located close enough to everything that most places are a short drive to. When we visit Spain again we will be coming back to this apartment as we loved it and the area so much!!
We stayed here in early July 2018, as expected the weather was perfect which made the air conditioning a welcome feature, having said that the property has balconies both front and back so one of them was always in the shade
Inside everything was immaculate and everything we needed was present, including essentials such as tea and coffee. The apartment has its own sun loungers by the pool and importantly a secure parking space in the underground garage which is served by the lift which goes straight to the front door of the apartment.
The apartment is at the quiet end of the resort which means ideally one would need a car as it is around 2km to the well-stocked shop, bar and restaurant. There is also good, reasonable priced food and drink in the nearby town of Sucina where there is also a reasonable supermarket. The large Carrefour is around 20 mines away by car in San Javier.
The grounds are maintained fastidiously to the point where they are fumigated regularly to rid them of pests, I can honestly say that in 2 weeks we didn’t see a single mosquito and didn’t need any repellent. The pool is large and even when busy doesn’t seem overcrowded. Many of the apartments appear to be owner occupied which makes for a relaxed atmosphere.
Overall this is a first class property on a first class resort and we would have no hesitation in recommending it. Communication from Lydia was very clear and there are key holders on site if there are any problems.
