Villa overview - owner's description
This villa has sea views and is set in the attractive urbanisation of private villas of Hacienda Guadalupe. It is enclosed in its private garden with terraces, swimming pool and large summer room.
The front garden faces south with terraces around the pool and grassed areas all with garden furniture to relax or enjoy the views of the Mediterranean coastline, which reaches beyond Marbella. At night it is lit up so you can enjoy an evening drink or swim in the pool.
The back garden has a large summer room for eating and relaxing. This has seating for over 8 people with a day bed, which can also be used for sleeping on those hot nights. There is a large dining table and chairs that seats 8 people with lighting to suit all moods as well as fans to keep it cool. There is also a patio where you can sit and relax with large gas BBQ's for alfresco cooking and eating.
The entrance hall leads to the main part of the villa and the master bedroom with ensuite bathroom. The master bedroom has large patio doors that lead to the garden via a covered patio where you can sit and enjoy the view. The villa has various areas of seating with Plasma TV, there is satellite TV with numerous English Channels but due to sky satellite no longer covering southern Spain there are no free to view channels. The kitchen has a double oven, gas hob, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster etc and all the cutlery, crockery, glassware you need for your stay. The other 2 bedrooms share the bathroom, which has a bath, walk in shower, washbasin and toilet. All bedrooms have fitted wardrobes.
There is underfloor heating in the master bedroom and all bathrooms. The other rooms have eco friendly radiators, the living area has a wood burner for chilly nights. In the summer all rooms have fans and there is portable air-conditioning if required.(additional cost payable locally). An allowance is included in your holiday cost for normal consumption of electricity. This will be advised to you in units of electricity on arrival at the villa. Any electricity used in excess of this will be charged to you locally. The meter will be read before, and at the end of your holiday. This condition is to ensure fair use of the air conditioning.
Situation of the villa
The villa is ideal for families or golfing parties as its location is within easy reach of some of the best golf courses in Spain, Valderrama, San Roque, Sotogrande, La Reserva and just a few minutes away Duqesa Golf Course. Situated 12km west of Estepona and 4 km east of Sotogrande, the beaches are in walking distance being only 400m from the villa. There are numerous beach bars (chiringuitos)some having have showers facilities and blue flag awards. There are restaurants shops and bars that are only a few minutes drive from the villa. Puerto Duquesa is a few kms away and has marine facilities as well as a wide variety of shops, restaurants and bars. Nearer the villa is a small village called Castillo de la Duquesa which is named after the fortress, which is located at the entrance to the village. This part is mainly Spanish speaking with plenty of traditional Spanish bars andrestaurants.
Places to go and activities in the area.
There is good access to the CN340 and by car it is only 35 minutes to Marbella, Puerto Banus and Gibraltar is 20 minutes where it is possible to take the ferry to Morocco and go Dolphin and whale watching. There are numerous trips to North Africa, Tarifa & Cadiz. Less than 45 minutes away you will find historic sites, museum, theatre/cinema, theme park, zoo, large shopping areas and numerous restaurants.
There are plenty of places to visit such as Seville, Granada, Ronda and Casares.
Skiing is within 2.5 hours to the Sierra Nevada mountains and its wonderful ski resort where you can hire all the necessary ski equipment. The best months are January to March when the skiing is excellent although it is often good to ski until the end of April/beginning of May. It is possible though in the winter to ski in the morning and sunbathe on the beach or garden of the villa in late afternoon. The mountains behind the villa are home to many walks, typical Spanish White villages and wildlife.

Great place for kids and adults alike. Really lovely accommodation. The owner was very helpful but not at all intrusive. He gave great recomendations for beaches, supermarkets and restaurants. we would definately go again with our three boys.
