Apartment overview - owner's description

This very popular apartment has wonderful sea, golf course and mountain views from the balcony and private roof terrace. All this an optional air conditioning too!

The kitchen is fully equipped with a full size oven and hob, microwave and fridge/freezer. There is a breakfast bar separating the kitchen from the lounge. The lounge consists of a double sofa bed, a radio/cassette/cd player and a television. The complex has satelite TV including BBC1, BBC2, ITV, C4 etc . There are patio doors leading to the balcony and a spiral staircase from the living room to the roof terrace.

The bedroom consists of twin beds, fitted wardrobes and a chest of drawers. The living room sofa folds out to become two single beds so the apartment can easily sleep 4.

The apartment comes with air conditioning in the living room - payable locally on a meter. (Approx 1 Euro = 1.5 hours).

The complex of Ocean Golf and Country Club is seen as one of the most prestigious in the area and this apartment has a fantastic apartment within it.
Even though it is a penthouse (3rd floor) there are lifts so access is very easy.

At the front of the complex are a few quiet bars and restaurants, including a lovely wine bar / tapas bar and a supermarket.

The resort centre of Golf del Sur is an approximate 10 minute walk where you will find a selection of boutiques, a supermarket, banks, cashpoints and plenty more good quality bars and restaurants - many with evening entertainment. A 5 -10 min walk in the other direction takes you to the new marina and a lovely sea front promenade full of picturesque bars and restaurants.

First impressions was a very nice apartment and was very impressed by the fact that when we reported there was no hairdryer, a brand new one was there in approx 1 hour.
Plenty of hanging space in bedroom and the kitchen was nice except hardly any freezer space.
The view from balcony was lovely looking out to the mountain to the lef but directly in front was a building site with 5 cranes, noise everyday except Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
The rooftop terrace was brilliant and very private.
Now for the bad bits:-
The towels looked as though they had not been washed. We had to go and buy washing powder on arrival to wash them + kitchen towels before we could use them. The "white" towels were decidedly grey, after a couple of good washes we got them to off white.
The rug under coffee table was thick with dust and what looked like dog hairs.
The patio furniture had to be washed as covered in brown stains.
The cushions are not the same as in the photo but were cheap and looked if they had been purchased from the China town outlet, they still had price tags on as did the seat covers.
The wine glassed are plastic.
We expected a bit more for the price we paid and feel very disappointed, especially having had the opportunity to look at next door and a couple of other apartments charging a lot less.
No we won't be going back.

I am the new owner of this apartment and would like to comment on the issues you had during your stay:
The building site is not ‘directly in front ‘ of the building as there is another complex and a road before the site, however I agree that there is obviously noise from the site and we were under the impression that our booking agent was to inform any potential clients of this prior to booking. This will all be finished in Sept 2018.
We were informed by the property management company we use that a hairdryer was required and that they had put some more towels into the apartment from their stock. As we live on the island we brought the hairdryer to the apartment. With regards to the towels I shall speak to the company as this is not up to the standard we would want for our guests.
With regard to the rug, we paid quite a lot of money for a deep clean to be carried out at the apartment prior to your arrival so again I will speak to the property management company as this again is not the standard we would like.
With regard to the patio furniture, due to the location of the island there does tend to be quite a lot of sand and dust so that is just a fact of life here and things which are outside do get covered sometimes.
Some of the items you mentioned had in fact just been purchased but unfortunately I cannot ask each client where they would like me to shop.

After the initial clean up of the apartment and having to move the sofa to clean up the broken glass and leftover food that were causing and ant and silverfish problem,
we had a good time, I have been to this property before so i was surprised to the problem,,, but we still had a good time,,,, and yes i would still go back. Carole

The apartment is ideally placed for the Airport (Tenerife South). The roof top terrace is very private and has commanding views of the sea and surrounding area. You should be aware that this area is often quite windy which is welcome in the summer but can make it feel less warm than the more busy areas around Los Cristanos. We have been here 3 times and it offers good value for money. Also there is new fridge in the kitchen, it is a bit small, but the freezer compartment is fine. All fridge's that do have these freezer compartments are not designed to store large amounts of freezer stuff. It is ideal for ice cubes. We are already booked again for later in the year. We stayed there in March 2017.

Just returned from a great time at this apartment. The location is quite good and not too far to walk to all the bars etc in the resort, although most are down by the marina or on the main central street.
Be careful when driving into Golf Del Sur as it is one way and if you miss the turning for the apartment you will have to drive all the way round and start again. You can, if you are careful, catch a little side road back up to the apartment from down the bottom of the hill, where you will see a banner for "THE Mill " on the railings to your left.

The apartment has everything that you will need for your stay but as mentioned by others the cleanliness is slightly better than average. We had to wash most glasses and dishes prior to use. Some dust on the floor etc BUT do not get me wrong it WAS NOT dirty just a bit off colour shall we say. A fresh coat of paint would be a good idea just to freshen the place up.

Especially liked the safe in the corner for all the valuables.

A few leaflets about the area would be a good idea and also a street map of Golf Del Sur showing how to get down to the Marina etc. OH... And an instruction manual for the induction hob.

The roof terrace is great and not overlooked ( you look over everybody else ) but we also found that a wee bit of shade would have been a good idea, although this might be a problem due to the high winds on this part of the island. We had 2 days of high winds and the balcony was definitely out of bounds and you had to take shelter behind the terrace wall to get any respite from the wind if you wanted to sunbathe.

We never used the pool but had a look in past and it looks quite good with a locked gate for security, and it does`t suffer too much with the wind due to its sheltered location.

As mentioned elsewhere San Blas has some good bars and restaurants. If you like tea rooms then go in past Hatties Tearoom on the bottom corner of the complex ( Really Good cake !! ). We had a car but it would be a 20 minute walk or a few Euros in a taxi. San Blas is the buildings that you can see in the distance from the front balcony.

The flight path for the airport is almost but not quite overhead, but really we never saw this as a problem. There was no noise during the night and you can always wave to the planes as you get your all over tan on the roof !!

WARNING :- DO NOT go out of the front door unless you have the one and only key in your pocket. It is the ONLY way to get back in .......................

WiFi would have been great but this would obviously come at a slight cost I would think. My wife would be over the moon if it were available ( Facebook !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! )

Fantastic location for the Playa Tejita beach. Only 10 minutes in the car to the best beach on the island ( part nudist remember )

Will definitely book this apartment again due to the location, resort, privacy of the terrace and the cost.

The private roof terrace is wonderful for sunbathing with all day sunshine. There is no shade but this can be found on the balcony if you want to sit outside but not be too exposed to the sun.
Yes if you do lock yourself out then there is no way back in......but of course we have a master key locally in case of any problem.
I am also very glad that you mention the cost of the apartment as we feel it is very competitively priced.

the fixtures and fittings are in urgent need of upgrading, the fridge should be condemmed there is no freezer door on fridge thus we lost most of our fresh food. The cleanliness at first looks o.k but deep down it's filthy, plugholes disgusting, lights and shades filthy, bed cover full of stains.
Certainly overpriced given the quality and condition of the fixtures and fittings

Thank you for the email. It is interesting that the client before you rated the apartment as 5 star (and the one before that 4 star). We thought we have previously fixed the freezer door problem but as it re-occurred we have no bought a brand new one.
Contrary to your comments, we care immensely about the apartment and how it is received by our guests. To not hear anything from you at all and then find you write these comments on the world wide web is in our opinion very unfair. I can't help resolve anything if I don't know there is a problem.
There is no way the apartment is over priced. This is a penthouse with private roof terrace, all day sun and wonderful views - in one of the most sought after complexes in the area. I'd say it was under-priced!
We want our guests to have the best experience possible and will always listen to feedback. As a consequence we have changed cleaners and are very happy with the new ones. They started with a full spring clean including lights, shades etc. We are committed to providing the best service possible to our guests and want them all to have a wonderful holiday in the apartment. I am sure many people will do so in the future.
