Villas, apartments and holiday rentals in Cordoba Province

Cordoba Province is bordered by the cities of Seville and Jaén in central Andalucia, bordered by the Sierras de Córdoba foothills of southern Spain and the banks of the Guadalquivir River. Attracting over 2 million tourists each year, this historic region was first trodden by man over 40,000 years ago, where remains of ancient Christian, Arab and Muslim civilisations can still be found. The sweeping landscape is dotted with Spanish whitewashed villages, baroque-style churches, vineyards and Moorish castles, while Córdoba's capital of the same name is a World Heritage Site boasting museums, medieval architecture and picturesque plazas. The most convenient airport is Seville, approximately an hour and a half drive northeast. Jerez, Malaga and Granada airports also serve Cordoba Province.

Take a cruise along the Guadalquivir River, the only great navigable river in Spain, stretching 657 km from east to west Córdoba, boasting the perfect surroundings for hiking, canoeing and climbing. Take an afternoon to explore Córdoba city, once home to the capital of the Moorish kingdom of Al-Andalus. Step back in time with its Great Mosque-Cathedral and Medina Azahara - the remains of a medieval palace-city ruled by Roman Emperor Maximian. The olive groves, lakes and grasslands of the south are known for their fruity wines and delicious olive oil, with food and wine tours offering the perfect mix of local culture and gastronomy.

Diverse Cordoba is a province of contrasts, with its quiet, rural areas and vibrant metropolitan cities that offer something for everyone. Take in stunning views of the Sierra Morena mountains and its scattered villages of Los Pedroches, Belalcazar, Pozoblanco and Fuente Obejuna. After an afternoon of sightseeing and outdoor adventures, end the day with traditional Spanish tapas topped off with a flamenco dance show at Tablao Flamenco El Cardenal Theatre in the capital. Many dinner theatres combine a wonderful show with an authentic regional meal.

Take beautiful memories home with you – and we’re not just talking about Instagram selfies! Córdoba’s many vendors, markets and upscale shops offer everything from fresh, local cheeses and cured meats to handmade ornaments and leather goods that make for the perfect memonto. Whether you stay in the city or rural areas, discover holiday rentals ranging from villas and apartments, to chalets and traditional Andalucian farm houses.

A beginner's guide to renting a Spanish holiday home in Cordoba Province

Cordoba Province, also known as Cordova Province in English, is the central province of Andalucia, bordered by the Sierras de Córdoba foothills of southern Spain. Bullfighting, wine tasting, a world-class cuisine, flamenco shows and old towns filled with the sounds of Spanish guitars are just a small taster of what this historic region has to offer. Córdoba's mountainous landscape, relaxed Andalucian way of life and architectural and historical wonders offer something for everyone, from families to history buffs.

Subbética district, 110 km from Córdoba city, is a region of unspoiled natural beauty, home to the limestone peaks of the Sierras Subbéticas Natural Park and the vast olive fields of Iznajar Reservoir and beach to the south. Discover rolling hills and caves ideal for climbing and exploring, with a cluster of mountainside whitewashed houses.

Guadalquivir Valley is the perfect place for white water rafting, with its fast-flowing stream and consistent water levels, while the Roman bridge of Córdoba that runs across is a fascinating example of medieval stonework. This region presents a wealth of historical remains such as Castillo del Moral in Lucena, Castillo de Iznájar and The Portocarrero Palace in Palma del Rio.

Stroll down the cobbles of Córdoba city, among the ancient stone buildings and feel its rich culture and history resounding through the walls, telling tales of past civilisations. Two must-see gems to tick off the list are Palacio de la Merced and The Great Mosque–Cathedral of Córdoba - one of Spain's most significant historical monuments. Cross the Guadalquivir River using The Roman bridge of Córdoba, located in the historic centre, once frequented by horse-drawn carriages. Guided bike tours will take you to all the cultural points of interest in the city.

Córdoba Golf Club, 7km north of the capital boasts beautiful surroundings and stunning sunsets while you practice your swing. Adrenaline junkies will enjoy paragliding across Lucena, 50 km away from Córdoba city, where you’ll fly past some of the best views of the rural countryside. For families, kids will enjoy the many play parks, and there is even a specially designed land for little ones called Children's city, in Valencia city, with an impressive play complex and special water game called 'The River'. Make a splash at Aquasierra water park, with its slides and modern attractions.
