CASA RAFA with private pool. Holiday in Competa.Quiet location with stunning views, secluded and tranquil.
The house is set in 1,5 acres of private ground planted of all sorts of trees. It is fenced so once you close the gate, there is a total privacy. No noise at all as it is minimum 150 meters to the road.
The closest village is CANILLAS DE ALBAIDA., it is just 300 meters away if you take a path that goes directly from the house to the village. The village has shops, supermarkets, bars, restaurants, chemist and a medical centre.
Then the nearest town is COMPETA, famous for its wine festival in August. It has much more wide choice of bars, restaurants, shops, etc. This one is 2,5 kilometers away and there is also a path if you prefer to walk.
The house was built in 2005 in the local typical spanish style. It has 2 bedrooms but very large as the house has 96 square meters and 30 meters terrace area.
Plenty of place to park the cars on the plot.
It is a 25 minutes drive to the beach of Algarrobo Costa

I had an absolutely wonderful, relaxing 2 weeks at Casa Rafa...our party included myself, my daughter & her fiance and my 3yr old and the villa was perfect for each of us. Rafael was at the villa waiting to greet us on arrival, he was very welcoming and showed us around, giving us all the info we would need on surrounding areas and how to get there. The villa was very clean and spacious and has everything you need for a comfortable stay...a home from home. The views from the front of the property, where you are able to eat meals at the table, are absolutely stunning and you can see right across to the coastline. The pool is a good size and upkeep is easy once you get the hang of it. We had several bbqs with the equipment provided and there are fruit trees on the property with lemons, pomegranites, figs and nuts. We wanted something quiet, relaxing and private and we got all of this. There is a dirt path to Canillas... a 10min walk..which has bars/restaurants, small supermarket, tobacco shop, pharmacy and information centre and also a path (a bit more hilly and uneven) to Competa(20-30mins walk) which has more variety of shops and restaurants. We decided not to hire a car due to the narrow windy roads and used airport transfers which were reasonably priced, then used local taxis to travel to different villages incl Canillas, Competa, Sayalonga and Torre del Mar...taxis were very cheap and reliable. There is also a coach 3 X per day that goes from Canillas to several coastal areas as far as Malaga.
A beautiful villa set in a stunning, peaceful location providing everything you will need for total relaxation. Highly recommended and I am already planning another visit for next year.

We had a great 2 weeks here, very close to village and easy to walk to in 5minutes. Competa can be walked to but we didnt due to the heat and is less then two minutes in the car. Patio area is bigger then it looks on the pics and plenty of space and beds around the pool. Arrival and departure was made very easy by the owner and times were flexible as far as possible. Villa has every thing you need for a relaxing holiday and pool is not overlooked with stunning views. 20 mins to the beach but has the seclusion of a very rural location.

All I wanted was a place that was
a) near enough to bars and restaurants so that driving wasnt necessary
b) but quiet, private and secluded
This villa ticks both boxes perfectly
Its on the outskirts of Canillas (I found 3 different restaurants in that little town - but there may be others) and the walk into Canillas is no more than 10 minutes - and thats at a gentle stroll
You can cut a bit off that time by using a path that goes from the back of the property to the very edge of the town but the terrain is a bit tricky so I wouldnt suggest that route if coming back in the dark (or after a few glasses of vino).
Its easy driving distance to the coast of you want that too
Pools a decent size and overall, Id recommend this property

If you want a peaceful holiday away from the crowds, would like to sit out and look down the valley towards the sea and have a good variety of close restaurants to choose from (in both Canillas de Albaida and Competa) then this is the place for you. You can walk in to Canillas de Albaida and although we always did the five minute drive to Competa there is a path if you want to walk there too. Although the shops arent supermarket size you can get everything you need without having to go down the windy mountain road. Tasty lemons, avacados and limes are all in the garden to pick. Rafael was also very accommodating and helpful and the villa couldnt be in a more glorious setting with a good size private pool. I highly recommend this villa and would love to return.

Fantastic views and a well equipped house, with the owner Rafael being very friendly and helpful. We were left in peace and even given charge of cleaning the pool with clear instructions and a good demo. It was very easy to do. Nearby Competa has some restaurants - our favourite was El Pilar with its varied cuisine. Nearby Canillas is a quick walk and although its supermarkets are small, they are surprisingly well stocked. The place is quite private in feel although it has a nearby house or two. The road from the motorway is not an issue and quite a pleasure to drive - an even more interesting and beautiful drive is the road to Torrox. I think well be back - particularly for those views !!!

Fantastic pool, big private grounds full of fresh figs, almonds, lemons. Easy uphill walk to village with small shops and places to eat.( Antonios is best). Villa is simple but had everything we needed. Views stunning, amazing sunsets. Rafael was really helpful and thoughtful. Spent most of the holiday relaxing by the pool but also drove to Granada. Road up to villa from motorway is steep and winding so best tackled first time in daylight but dont let that put you off if you are looking to get away from the crowds. We had a perfect time
