Cosy romantic village town house - Perfect for couples. The sun terrace is overlooking the main plaza and church, perfect for relaxing with a glass or two of the local vino.!!!
Our refurbished 'casita' (little house) has been lovingly renovated incorporating comfort and modern conveniences while ensuring its original rustic charm and character are maintained. It's situated in a quiet corner, only a short (but steep) walk from Competa's main village square.
The cosy sitting room with original floor tiles, has a comfy sofa and a dining area for two. The small but beautifully formed kitchen is equipped with a full size cooker with ceramic hob, microwave, fridge freezer, toaster and kettle. On this level there's an optional second bedroom available for a supplement (twin beds or one super kingsize) . Upstairs you'll find the main bedroom with double bed and en suite shower room. Further stairs lead to a private roof terrace and utility room with washing machine. The terrace affords breathtaking views of the village and surrounding countryside, extending down to the Mediterranean. On a clear day it's possible to see the distant shores of Africa while enjoying a glass (or two!) of the famed local wine . It's absolutely perfect for romantic alfresco dining and is fully equipped with table, chairs and loungers .
The village of Competa is beautifully situated in the foothills of Sierra Almijara mountain range, on the border of the Sierra de Tejeda National Park. Being almost 700m above sea level stunning views abound. Competa is, however, only 16kms from the coast. Nerja, Malaga, Almunecar and Granada, as well as countless idyllic villages are within easy reach by car. There are some fantastic walks in the area (for all level of fitness). Malaga airport is about an hours drive away. The house is situated in the heart of the village, only a short (but steep) walk from the main village square. Tapas bars, restaurants and shops are all within a couple of minutes walk.
This villa made our holiday dreams come true. Not only was it clean, but it had everything we could have possibly thought of such as ice bags! washing up liquid, washing machine (a nice surprise!) bbq, clean linen, towels and even a tin and bottle opener. It was home from home and excellent value for money. The village Competa itself is beautiful and a real treasure to this world. Quiet, relaxing and lively (if you want it to be!) We discovered our favourite restaurant a stones throw away. The only thing I wasnt so aware of is the streets can be steep, so if one was to suffer with mobility issues then this could not be the place for you. We thought we would miss the pool but with the beach 30mins away and a local pool it was never an issue. the Balcony was special at sunrise and sunset and we had the feeling we were in true spain. No terrible tourists, no expensive sun loungers on the beach, no drunken Brits weeing up the wall. I can not wait until I return.
