We bought this villa in August 2006. It is a new build luxury villa designed and built by the renowned Melini Family Builders.
We had been holidaying on the Costa Blanca for years before discovering the delights of Calpe and the surrounding areas such as Moraira, Javea and Denia.
Calpe is easily accessible from two major airports - Alicante (50 min drive) and Valencia (70min drive). We always fly to Alicante where we hire a car
and take the easy motorway journey to Calpe , there are services on the way for a break if necessary.
Calpe itself is a lovely and friendly resort at the southern end of the northern Costa Blanca. It boasts two fabulous long sandy beaches extending out along curved bays from either side of the famous Peñon de Ifach. This is an enormous rock that has become the symbol of Calpe and a famous landmark on the Costa Blanca. The seafront promenade is lined by hotels and apartment blocks while low-rise residential complexes and villas lie on the gently sloping hills surrounding the town. There is a yachting marina and a fishing port where you can sample the days catch at one of the many seafood restaurants opposite the port. Calpe also has a charming old town with a Moorish quarter, narrow streets and castle ruins. Although Calpe is very popular with international tourists, it still manages to keep its Spanish and friendly charm.
If you have children, it will be easy to keep them entertained during their holidays. About 20 min drive from Calpe - towards Benidorm, you’ll find the recently built theme park – Terra Mitica and Terra Natura which are fantastic, but don‘t forget your sunblock!. In Benidorm itself, you can visit Mundomar where you find a marina and exotic animals. Almost next door is Aqualandia, a water park that is bound to be one of the headlines of your holiday.

Why we chose this villa?
We chose the La Vallessa development as it is a small private urbanization of just 16 Villas, of which just 13 share the massive Communal Pool.
Set in a quiet residential area and only a short drive from beautiful sandy beaches and supermarkets and restaurants. It is literally only a 20-30 minute walk with pushchairs etc and the kids absolutely love the steady walk, taking in the fantastic views and spotting Lizards! We normally drive down to the bottom of the road and park in Consum Supermarket if we anticipate carrying a lot of shopping or beach toys etc.
. We do recommend the Hire of a car as it does help with going to supermarkets/beach/restauants etc and gives you freedom to visit other areas if you wish to explore.
Please note it is not like been in the middle of a holiday complex staying in a hotel, it is for people who like a quiet location to enjoy their holiday and who don't mind hiring and driving a car in Spain.

The villa itself is set in an elevated position on the quiet urbanization and is very easy to find. It has fantastic views of the valley and we have watched many a perfect sunsets from the upper terrace.
It is a secure development with electric entrance gates.
There is a car port for 1 car attached to the house. The communal pool is only 20 meters from the Villa. There is a small/shallow pool attached to the main pool, ideal for small children and non-swimmers.
The detached villa compromises 3 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, modern and fully equipped kitchen. The ample living/dining room with contemporary furnishings leads to triple sliding doors opening onto the spacious patio area, an ideal place to spend the best part of the day watching the sun go down.
The master bedroom with built in wardrobes, double bed and en-suite bathroom (bath + shower, bidet, toilet and sink) is to be found upstairs, with French doors opening directly onto 27m2 patio with superb views of mountains and the Valley Park community.
The other two double bedrooms and a bathroom (shower, toilet and sink) are located downstairs. Both bedrooms have 2 single beds and double built in wardrobes. The kitchen is very modern with all the necessary equipment such as dishwasher, ceramic hob, oven, fridge/freezer and built in microwave.
The roofed patio is an ideal place to chill out with all new, stylish outdoor furniture, including table and chairs, sun beds and BBQ. There is also a small outdoor utility room with a washing machine.
The Villa is double glazed and has central heating. All bedrooms have ceiling fans. CD/DVD player and TV in the lounge. Note dvds/cds not provided.

The villa iself was adequate although there were 1 or 2 unsatisfactory items. Dirty bbq. cooker and washing machine poor, shower screen door off runners, towel rail fell off wall. Insufficient cutlery and glass for 6 people. Would be greatly enhanced by addition of plunge pool. No seats around communal pool

The villa is in a good position for the beaches, shops and town. The terrace has the most wonderful view of the sun setting over the mountains in the late evening (just like the cover of the Eagles LP Hotel California - if you know it - palm trees in a red sky) and is sunny from late morning onwards. The swimming pool is very good but could benefit from some steps at the deep end! The kitchen was lacking in some items of cooking utensils eg more saucepans, wooden spoons, oven gloves etc for people like us who like to cook of an evening. The steep slope and angle into the carport was rather difficult to negotiate - especially in the dark. The automatic gate also caused some problems when it did not work. This was remedied by a neighbour who just pulled it open! The villa seemed secure being high above the road but some window grilles down stairs would make it better for sleeping at night with the windows open. A second set of keys would be useful - our teenage children preferred sometimes not to go out with us and it was a bit tricky only having one set of keys. Overall we had a very good holiday - Calpe is the best town we have been to so far in the Costa Blanca. We will definitely go to Calpe again as the view from the top of the rock is amazing.
Upstairs shower leaks into down stairs shower room Towel row still broken i read on 2010 review it ws broken and still is Lights in bedroom didnt work.
We have 2 young children and thought this would be an ideal place due to it being a 15 min stroll to the centre. This was actually a 40 min walk down a long hill to everything. There is no local shop or suitable restaurants nearby so you have to walk 40 min to go to the nearest supermarket/wait for a bus or pay 10 euros for a taxi each way. It was suggested we hired a car purely for going to the supermarket but this was too expensive and didnt mind a 15 min stroll but this was not the case. The kitchen lacked cooking equipment. There are plenty of plates, a great microwave and cooker but nothing apart from 3 pans with no lids to cook with. Some of the equipment was rusty hence we ate out most of the time which has cost us more money than we took. There is a tv with only 1 spanish channel that works. There is a dvd player but no dvds to watch. The agents let us borrow their own personal collection. The picture shown with the pool is not this villa it is a familys villa who live there so you do not step out onto it as it suggests. The pool is behind a row of villas behind this one. Our children loved the pool but there were no seats to sit on. The agents Alan and his wife looked after us and were very lovely people. They were great when the taxi we hired from the airport and booked in England dro pped us off in the wrong area! The villa is very spacious, lovely dinining table, plenty of sunbeds and a great outdoor area with table and in a nice quiet area. Great for people with older children who dont mind driving everywhere or having a long daily walk.

Hello Andrew, Just a short email to let you know we had a really good time in Calpe and the villa is beautiful, suited us down to the ground! We will definitely return probably July if works allows. Please say thank you to Gill as well for greeting us, she is a lovely person. Thank you for now Marie
What a beautiful villa! The photos do not do it justice.Although it is not the villa shown next to the pool, it is a mere 20 meters if that away.We only saw 2 more families in the pool during our stay and our children met some wonderful friends. The pool is not heated which we found a welcome relief to the daytime heat. A fantastic location, although within walking distance to town, was greatly enhanced by the rental of our car, which helped with shopping and trips to water parks. The villa itself was immaculate and Alan was fantastic at showing us around and welcoming.Very spacious and clean with everything you need.I can see it being perfect for a romantic couple or a family like ourselves.Highly recommended and will definately return.
Andrew and Vicky, many thanks for a fantastic holiday. Your villa is absolutely beautiful. Please pass on our thanks to Alan and Gill, they were wonderful! We cant wait to return.Best regards Ken and Sue
As per previous review i have changed wording of advert to 20ᆲ mins walk to town as we are probably fast walkers!
