Casa La Molina is the perfect place to unwind in comfortable and peaceful surroundings. Stunning views and relaxation.
This area is very beautiful, rolling hills and mountains that dip down to the azure coloured sea. Little white-washed cottages with drying beds for the moscatel grapes dot the countryside. The hillsides are covered with vines, almonds, olives, avacados and mangoes. Spring brings multitudes of wild flowers to Andalucia and wildlife from eagles to chameleons is varied and colorful.
Here you have the advantage of being in the middle of the countryside, surrounded by beautiful mountains, yet only 40 minutes from the beach, shops and the nightlife on the Costa del Sol.
Comares village has a doctor’s surgery, a chemist, a tobacconist, a post office and a very good all in one shop selling everything from kirby grips to salted cod. Market day is on Saturday. There are several bars, a restaurant in the old mill that overlooks the precipitous dro p to the valley floor. Several other cafes offer very good ‘menu del dia’ from 6 to 8 euros.
The very narrow streets are carless, but you can follow the ceramic footprints for a tour round the historic fortified village that dates back to the 3rd century BC. Don’t be surprised to see a donkey watching you from a doorway! Do go up to the cemetry. The best views are frequently enjoyed by the dead.
A car is essential if you want to do anything other than walk. Within easy striking distance you have beaches, caves, golfing, boating, skiiing, olive mills, markets. Do visit the ports at Benalmadena, Cabo Pina and Puerto Banus in Marbella to enjoy people watching of the rich and famous!
Malaga citys old quarter is very beautiful and has fantastic restaurants and tapas bars. The Parador at the top of the Gibralfo has a couple of Michelin stars so is worth having an evening out to enjoy gourmet food. Malaga’s Santa Semana Easter festival is breathtaking and the ten day August Festival is world renouned.
Make time for Granada to see the Alambra Palace, Cordoba for the Mesquita and on the way see the fields of sunflowers in season. Visit Seville for the Real Alcazar and Ronda for breathtaking views and much more. Keep an eye open for the storks nesting on chimneys. Inland there are olive mills, national parks, Malaga’s lake district, mountains and hill top villages to visit.
There are lots of places to visit on the coast that include a crocodile park, Sea World, water parks and shopping malls. You need never be short of something to do.
The Apartments - Casa La Molina, completed June 2006, consists of four apartments with views to die for. The air conditioning and double glazing ensure cool in summer and warmth in winter. The private swimming pool is only for the guests use. The house is a couple of minutes from the plaza and there is ample car parking space within 50 metres.
It is ideal for walkers, bird watchers, painters, explorers and anyone just wanting peace and quiet.
Philip and Jenny were wonderful host and went out of their way to make us welcome and our holiday enjoyable. They even got a birthday cake for us as one of the children has a birthday the day after we arrived.
The appartment is very well equiped, bright and airy with lots of infromation about the surrounding area. Again Jenny and Philip were helpful with their local knowledge.
I wouldnt hesitate in recommending this appartment

Kath from Wigton. 21 June 2007. Casa La Molina was a fantastic, clean, well equipped apartment, excellent value for money with lots of extras provided, stunning views and a lovely pool area. The owners Jenny and Phil were very welcoming and friendly. The village of Comares was 100 yards up the hill and the setting was perfect for us, with breathtaking views. The village is still very spanish and unspoilt. There are several bars and a couple of restaurants and the locals are very friendly. The area is excellent for walking and for anyone who likes a holiday somewhere quieter and less commercial than the bigger resorts. It takes half an hour to get to the apartment from the motorway - it is hairpin bends so be careful! I can't say enough good things about this apartment - it's facilities and setting are fantastic and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.
Ken from Manchester 14 Aug 2008. The apartments are stylish, finished to a high standard, and have a security gate with intercom for privacy. There are splendid views from windows/balconies and all around the area due to the high position of Comares. The road up from the coast is good and well surfaced, and although there are some tight bends it is not unduly difficult. There is bar, and also a very attractive and good restaurant in Comares in the old olive mill, run by an entertaining and friendly pair who also speak good English. There is also another restaurant but we didnt have a chance to try it. There isnt that much in Comares itself to occupy you, but the apartments are well placed for exploring the wider area, and having a meal or drink in the town is cheap enough and a relaxing end to the day (we paid 77Euro for 4 starters/mains and 2 desserts with soft drinks. Bottled beer was 1.50/2 Euro). Eating out in this area is generally much cheaper than in more touristy areas. The apartment owners, Phil & Jenny are very friendly and always available and eager to help. There doesnt seem to be much thats too much trouble for them. If you want to see a part of Spain thats not completely succumbed to tourism whilst enjoying stunning scenery then you cant do much better than this.
