Capdepera is a small municipality northeast of Majorca's capital, Palma. It started as a fortified village, built in the 1300s by James II of Aragon as a refuge from the Moorish pirates. Capdepera has survived the centuries and its magnificent 14th Century castle on the nearby hill stands as a symbol of the town.
Renting one of our holiday villas or apartments puts everything within reach: cobbled streets with restaurants and shops, historic monuments centring the town's square, beautiful beaches and countryside. While wandering the streets visit the church of Sant Juan, home to a 14th Century carving of Christ. But the jewel in the town's crown is Castell de Capdepera, the ancient castle fortress on the hill. It’s a bit of a climb to the top but you’re rewarded by marvellous views of the Capdepera area. Apart from the countryside you can easily explore by foot the town also offers some of Majorca’s best golf including Capdepera golf course which is on the road to Arta.
Enjoy the sun on the beaches of the nearby resort of Cala Ratjada, about 3km away from Capdepera. Golden sand, beautiful promenades, crystal clear waters and plenty of water sports make Cala Moll and Cala Gat the two most popular beaches in the area.
