Apartment overview - owner's description

Villamartin Plaza is only 7 min walk from the apartment. The Plaza has great restaurants, bars, bowling alley, night club, amusements, and supermarkets. There is also a bank, pharmacy and doctors surgery. Ideal for families and golfing parties. Also 2 other centres with lots of shops, 2 large supermarkets & restaurants, bars 10 min walk up the road.

Within 5 to 10 minutes drive are the excellent local blue flag beaches of La Zenia, Cala Capitan, Campoamor, Mil Palmeras and Cabo Roig, all with soft white sand. In July, August and the beginning of September, there is a shuttle bus that runs between Villamartin and the beach. Also within easy driving distance is the bustling Torrevieja with its large marina, street markets, bars, nightclubs as well as excellent shopping, a very Spanish town. For children there is the Autopsies Water Park, safari park, and fun fair

Towns & Cities
A short drive from Villamartin (aprox 10 min) is the typical spanish village of San Miguel where there are many beautiful restaurants.

Within easy reach are the historic towns of Orihuela, Elche, Cartagena, Lorca and Alicante. Each has its own special qualities to offer.

Murcia, the largest city in the immediate area is only 45 minutes away and is well worth a cultural day out. It is a vibrant city that really comes to life in the evening. There is a wonderful Cathedral old bull ring, shops bars, cafes and restaurants as well as the Football stadium. Murcia usually plays on a Sunday night.

The property
The apartment is furnished to the highest standard. It has spacious lounge and dining area and is marble floors throughout. Facilities include a dresser, dining room suite, coffee table sofa bed, British Satelite TV, DVD and hi-fi system. There is also an Air-conditioning and effective ceiling fan for summer cooling and radiators for winter periods.

The high specification kitchen is separated from the dining area by a granite breakfast bar. Equipments provided include oven & hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, electric kettle, toaster and coffee machine. Full set of crockery and cutlery, glasses, cups etc are supplied for up to 6 people.

Bedroom 1

The master bedroom, like the rest of the apartment is light and airy, its window has views of the communal garden area and has direct access to balcony trough double doors.

This bedroom comprises king size bed, reading lamps, fitted wardrobes with drawers (hangers are supplied), bedside table with chest of drawers and an effective ceiling fan. All bed linen, and for the chillier nights blankets and heating are provided. The en-suite bathroom is tiled fully in marble and benefits from WC large mirrors and shower. Hand and bath towels are included.

Bedroom 2

This is a bright room with two single size beds, bedside table, reading lamp, chest of drawers, fitted wardrobes (with hangers) and an effective ceiling fan for summer cooling. Heating and blankets are also provided for winter periods.

The communal garden is a big attraction for families. From the lounge and bedroom 1, you step onto the large south facing balcony terrace with views across to the landscaped communal gardens. Terracotta floor tiles and patio furniture make this a perfect position for breakfast. It also provides shade in the afternoon and the last place to see the sun in the late evening.

Communal Pool

The swimming pool is only for private residents only and just few metres from the apartment garden. The pool is full size pool and has baby pool and showers. It is surrounded by a terrace, which in turn is surrounded by lawns and plants. Perfect for relaxing during the day or after a round on the golf course.

Very helpful check in and out! Came to assist us in the final 5 mins of the journey to the apartment. Very spacious and clean. Very you need is there. One slight down side, only one set of keys, if someone wanted to go to the pool, needed the keys then other people had to stay in the apartment as it is all gated.

Overall great place and I'd go back!

i would never stay here again, we found that their was a lack of towels and pillows and the ones they did have were very worn, un-matching and discoloured, the pillows were old and stained (disgusting), i had to go out and buy my own towels as my sons refused to use them. The bedding was very shabby, it was bobbled, my sons could'nt sleep in twin bedded room as it was too hot so they slept on uncomfortable settees. The pool is situated in another block of apartments and the system of having to take your own chairs and towels to pool is ridiculous, it is the worst accommodation i have ever stayed in and would never return, my family and I have very high standards when it comes to accommodation and i new it was going to be 5 star but you do expect decent bedding and towels thank goodness it was only a four night stay as we could not wait to leave, the price was a lot too compared to some friends who stayed at the plaza, their accommodation was far superior for a cheaper price

This is unfair review and these are the points raised by renter and my reply to them directly.

Renter Complaint 1 - The bedding was old and only had two flat pillows, there was a shortage of towels which were mis matched and disgusting quality.

Owner reply - I am sorry if you think it was disgusting quality. But we and the previous guests think it is acceptable for self-catering holiday. I am certain they were all clean and fit for purpose.

Renter complaint 2 - There was no pool towels which we didn't use.

Owner reply - This is not stated in the advertisement and people take their own beach and pool towel when they go for self-catering holiday and in most cases even to fully-inclusive hotels.

Renter complaint 3 - The air conditioning or should I say lack of it, my sons slept on sofas as their was no air con in twin room:

Owner reply - Every room is listed with what is included. The twin room as well as the main bedroom states the following: an effective ceiling fan (this is not air-conditioner).

Renter Complaint 4 - Your photograph showed an apartment over-looking swimming pool which it was not and I think that is false advertising.

Owner reply - This is wrong. Please see the information added under each photographs. It clearly shows where the apartment is and what it is overlooking. The swimming pool states that it is a resident’s only swimming pool. Which is true.

A lovely apartment with spacious rooms and good facilities. The pool area is only two minutes from the front door and had very good sunbathing areas. The contact in Villamartin was friendly and very helpful. All in all excellent value for money!

great location , lovely apartment, pool was great. It helped that id stayed in villamartin before , so I knew the area was good.
The meet & great by Brian was spot on as were all his instructions.

This is a good, well equipped apartment in a pleasant residential area just a few yards from the shared pool. There are some shops and numerous restaurants/bars in the modern plaza which is within easy walking distance of the apartment but a car is prefereable if you want to explore further afield. The beaches of Cabo Roig, La Zenia and Playa Flamenca are about 10 mins drive away and inland there are some good restaurants in the neighbouring village of San Miguel de Salinas. Our particular favourites were Castillo de Conesa, just outside San Miguel, The Market Street Restaurant and Las Brasas, a Spanish barbecue restaurant midway between Vilamartin and San Miguel.
This is a good place to stay if you are looking for a relaxing beach/pool holiday but also well placed if you want to tour around the area.
We had a good holiday. In general we felt the apartment was good value for money but that the cleaning charge was a bit steep.

The information about local charges are clearly stated on the website under extra section ( The customer failed to read the information properly and thought it was hidden charges. The charge is paid locally to get the property ready after departure. The price is very reasonable and compared to other properties in the same area, probably it is cheaper than most of them. It is a standard extra for self catering properties.

This was a very nice apartment in a quite area. Everything you needed was supplied, even sun loungers for the pool area, parasol for the beach and inflatables for the kids!! Air conditioning a definite bonus. Brian, the key holder, was a very charming man and couldnt do enough to help. I would definitely recommend hiring a car to get around. We had a lovely week in the sun. Thank you.
