The beach leading from the gardens is sandy and gets wider as you walk towards Cabopino, which along
with La Cala and Riviera have wide sandy beaches and within walking distance. The walk to La Cala will take about one hour, so why not stop on the way and collect the fresh mussells, which collect in the rock pools. Sun beds, canoeing, banana boat rides, sailing, speedboats, paragliding and water skiing are offered at local
beaches. The local port of Cabopino has a lovely marina, and is only a short walk along the sandy beach, the restaurants are excellent and offer good atmospheres for that alfresco dining
experience.

Five minutes walking brings you to Calahonda centre where there is a lovely old building called El
Zoco, which houses various shops built around open patio gardens with bars and restaurants to suit all
tastes. You will also find located in El Zoco: a medical centre, dentist"!" and an Internet cafe.

Aztec Country Club at Riviera del Sol has mini golf tennis, game zone and kids club, and for the
girls, there is a health and beauty centre offering everything from nail extensions, massage and
seaweed wraps to children's haircuts. Amenities are open all year round.

Costa del Sol Club has tennis available 7 days per week for children and adults, or you can hire a
court in the park area on the complex adjacent to Lunamar.

For the children and the more energetic there are many theme parks in the area: Selwo Marina, Fuengirola
Zoo, Crocodile Park, Sea Life in Benalmadena and 2 Aqua parks - great fun for everyone.
Further afield

Served by the modern international airport at Malaga, the Costa del Sol is renowned for its superb climate. It also has some spectacular scenery with views shifting from lush sugar-cane fields and tropical fruit plantations to rugged mountains, and from beautiful yacht marinas to old whitewashed villages and rich green pine forests and olive groves to the deep blue sea. The area boasts sports facilities unsurpassed in Europe. For the golf enthusiast there are over 35 magnificent courses playable all year round within 30 minutes of the apartment, and there is also everything from equestrian activities, jeep safaris and biking, hot air ballooning. A full choice of water sports is also available from all harbours and some beaches offer windsurfing, canoeing, banana boat rides sailing, speedboats, paragliding and water skiing.

For an interesting day trip, high in the mountains is Mijas, a thriving town from the nine century which still has walls from the old Moorish fort. There are interesting museums, art galleries and rather expensive craft shops, selling gorgeous items by highly respected artists and craftsmen, as well as a lovely walk around the old walls with spectacular views over the surrounding countryside. The town offers a huge variety of places to eat as well as many medieval buildings to admire.

Further afield, there is the Alhambra palace complex in Granada, the old city of Seville, and Gibraltar with its huge gun, cable car (or steps for the energetic) to the top, dolphin safaris in Gibraltar bay and the historic town of Ronda or Benhavis renowned for its good restaurants. The more adventurous might like to drive on to Algeciras and get the ferry across to Tangiers.

very comprehensively equipped house - a genuine family home located near to all amenities. Excellent front line position. The very close proximity of the unfenced deep pool might make parents of young children cautious

A very relaxing holiday in the perfect holiday home. The accomodation had everything you need for the perfect holiday. The only downside, although it didnt really bother us, but we could see it bothering other people, is the fact you have to walk beside a very busy road to get to the supermarket and bars. Other than that this was really the most relaxing holiday we have ever been on!
Owner reply:

There is a route to the shops where you can walk along the beach and back again, We have noted this comment and will put directions along the beach to the shops in our arrival and things to know book.

The description of the property on the website was very accurate and not misleading. It was very clean and comfortable with all mod cons. The fact that the pool was directly outside the patio doors was a bonus and meant that you could spend the whole day there and everyone was happy. (especially our 10 year old) There were plenty of shops, bars and restaurants fairly close by and I suppose the only down side was that we had to walk alongside a busy motorway to get to them. It was on the main bus route and we travelled by bus often as it was very cheap and a regular service.
