A car is necessary due to limited public transport from Busot, however there is a local taxi service.
Third time we have stayed at Sue & Gerry's lovely Spanish house, and as usual made very welcome, and enjoyed a very peaceful and relaxing holiday. Busot is a very friendly village, every where we went we were made welcome. Loved popping down to the coast at El Campello and having a stroll along the prom.

Our 3rd stay in this lovely bungalow, across the road from our friends. Everything immaculate as usual and the welcome pack VERY welcome when coming
in late in the day. As time goes on and the bed throughput continues, mattress toppers would be the "icing on the cake" for extra comfort as both
mattresses are getting harder now. Our friends across the road provided one and next year we would both have one at the ready, otherwise the facilities are exceptional in all respects.
All the beds had new mattresses 3 years ago and based on the through flow over this period they have been slept on approx 300 times. As every item of beddings is washed between guests, sometimes on a 12 hour turn round, the use of toppers could increase this time due to the drying period. Using dry cleaning facilities would increase the rental cost which we endeavour to keep to a minimum. Blankets are available in each room which could have been used had you so wished.

We have just returned from Busot having spent eleven glorious days in Gerry and Sues Bungalow. Gerry met us on arrival and brought us on a short tour of the area pointing out supermarkets, beaches etc.The welcome back was a treat after travelling. The Bungalow lived up to all of our expectations and more, it was clean, very well equipped with everything from a toothpick to a beach cool bag. The village was quiet, and suited us very well, lovely bars and restaurants, people were very friendly and willing to advise on where to go and what to see. El Campello beach is close by and again not overcrowed. We hope to return very soon and thank Gerry and Sue for letting us stay in their lovely Bungalow.Thank you both for making us feel so welcome

Spedzilismy tam dwa pierwsze tygodnie czerwca i byly to niezapomniane wakacje.

From Guest Book. This 10 day holiday was our 5th visit to Busot and the first time residing in Sue and Gerry's villa. We were immediately impressed with the villa and very appreciative of the welcome pack. The villa/bungalow is immaculate both inside and outside. Gerry offered a tour of the local area but we felt we were au fait with the area given the number of visits we have made over the years.
Our September holiday is purely a relaxer as we lead a very busy life at home. Hence our priorities are sand, sun, sea, good food and a complete rest. Busot and El Campello meet this criteria and we have been particularly blessed with the weather this year and, indeed, on occasion it has been too hot! The local restaurants are excellent and offer a variet of food types at very reasonable prices. Particular note must be made of La Casa in the village, Rosa and Fernando offering their usual warm welcome and excellent choice. Also high on our list is Mimms, which is a little way out of the village. John, the owner, is an excellent chef (he previously was the chef at La Casa).
It is difficult to find fault with anything in the bungalow, clearly much thought has been put in to providing all known 'home comforts'. It is also very secure given the level of detail designed into the property. Finally a big thank you to Sue and Gerry for providing this excellent house for an enjoyable holiday. We will definitely be back.

From Guest Book. Second visit to Sue and Gerry's wonderful bungalow. We had a fabulous two weeks, visiting family and the area. Enjoyed our evenings out in the local bars and restaurants as well as having some BBQ's in the rear garden. Particularly enjoyed Oscar's bar at the top of the steps, he does a wonderful plate of the day - La Casa where Rosa and Fernando do a great value menu of the day - not forgetting Lucas Bar where we watched some of the world cup matches. Thanks again to Sue and Gerry for letting us stay.
Translation of Annas review.
The bungalow in Busot is recommendable in every way. We spent the first two weeks of June and had an unforgettable vacation. To a large extent it was a huge thanks to the owners, very dedicated, involved in creating a calm, cozy and stress free vacation. Sue and Gerry are very helpful but discreet at the same time, full of sense and understanding. Upon arrival, we went for a delectable meal, which after a long flight saved our lives. The bungalow is fully equipped, as in the description has all the amenities ranging from washing machine, microwave oven, towels, bed linen (sufficient for a change) ... cool bag for the beach, umbrellas, shopping bags, beach chairs, tables, aluminium foil, or moulds for children etc. Really the owners have created a cosy, spotlessly clean, comfortable flat, with two terraces of which you do not want to leave. A lemon tree on the front terrace is totally charming, with fruit all the time for our drinks :) The bungalow is situated between the other houses, but the area is so organized that allows you to maintain complete privacy. I highly recommend it to people who are looking for tranquillity, relaxation, rest for body and mind :). Cat lovers will also find something for themselves. Nice, harmless critters waiting for leftovers from dinner, they are really not annoying :) Very close to home there are bars, an outdoor swimming pool, the old city Busot (beautiful), Canelobre caves and you can visit the town of El Campello with beautiful, wide beaches and a large amount of restaurants. There is a Lidl, you can do far more shopping in Carrefour. Gerry is a wonderful first guide in the area, shows you around Busot, indicating where to eat, what to do etc - a very nice gesture :) I recommend recommend recommend! A very carefully prepared holiday lodging
From Guest Book 18 Nov 2013. Time to go home, another nice week spent in your charming villa, Im sure we will return again soon.
From Guest Book 20 Oct - 27 Oct 2013. Thank you for letting us stay at your lovely bungalow, We have really enjoyed our time here. The bungalow is really well equipped and is in a great village location. We have toured the area quite extensively and we both agree this is a lovely area of Spain.
Finally thanks to Sue for her lovely welcome and to Gerry for showing us around the Busot area.
From Guest Book 3 Sep - 10 Sep 2014. The week went by too fast, this is a great location and the bungalow is great. You have everything you need and the verandas are wonderful. Thanks a lot Sue and Gerry for your hospitality and we will be back for sure.
From the Guest Book 26 Aug - 1 Sept. Too short period one might argue, but we did enjoy every single minute of it.
The choice of Busot has actually been what it is said to be, the warmth and peace of the countryside, the view and wonders of the mountains and the cave, and the shopping and beaches in El Campello. We loved the patios with the BBQ and Lucas Bar and the walk around the quiet and peaceful Busot streets. It was more like the quality of the days, rather than the quantity.
However the one thing that will leave a lasting taste is Gerry and Sues kindness and having people at heart, with a welcome pack as we arrived late to having everything in the bungalow that holiday makers would need, beach chairs, parasol, .........etc and as they are so nice people will definitely become regulars. So maybe short stays like ours might after all be fair on everyone.
From Guest Book 8 Feb 2013 to 22 Mar 2013
Thank you so much for letting us use your lovely bungalow. We have enjoyed it so much and you have been so kind and helpful. Its been a wonderful break for us and we hope that this will not be the last time.
From Guest Book 10 May 2013 to 19 May 2013
We had a wonderful stay at this lovely co0mfortable villa. We have enjoyed sitting and relaxing in the front garden during the day and the rear garden in the evening where we had some lovely BBQs. Great location for local bars, we particularly enjoyed Oscars at the top of the steps and the restaurant La Casa where we had a fabulous meal. Our time went so fast and we look forward to coming back soon. So to finish we would like to give a big thank you to Sue and Gerry for the wonderful welcome and hospitality
From Guest Book July 2012 - Thank you for a terrific two weeks in your bungalow. It is one of the best that we have ever stayed in. It was everything we could have hoped for and more, with all the little extras making a huge difference. We really appreciated it.
With superb accomodation, great surroundings and wonderful weather we will be strongly recommending this bungalow to our family and friends.
From Guest Book June 2012 - It was a great pleasure to stay in your lovely home. Beautifully clean and well presented, its the little things that make all the difference. Ideally located in Busot and a superb location for access to the beach of El Campello and surrounding areas. We will definitely be recommending it to our family and friends and hope to return some time in the future.
From Guest Book - Feb 2012. Just over for a short break, yes in February. We have been able to sit out the front every day, pure magic, heat on the bones. We have taken drives over the hill roads, through snow and ice and the views have been marvellous. We have visited Elche to see the palms, yes folks, tree huggers, quite a spectacle. We sampled Menus del Dias wherever we were at lunchtime and have been suited throughout. The house has been fine, a great base for touring, only one thing missing, a teapot (now supplied).
This pretty bungalow is situated in the mountains at Busot, its central location between Alicante and Benidorm provides a perfect base to explore the areas wonderful beaches all within a 10-15 mins drive.
We were made very welcome by Sue and Gerry whose local knowledge of the local area is very helpful. The bungalow has been tastefully re-decorated and provides good storage areas.
The front and rear terraces are sun traps and are ideal to enjoy some Al-Freso evenings. The village of Busot is a short walk away and provides musical events to enjoy plus a couple of typically Spanish restaurants. We recommend a visit to the nearby caves where currently you are shown round by an English guide, also is a must is the Castle at Alicante which is free, the views are stunning.
We will be recommending the bungalow to our friends and hope to return soon.

About the owner
I spent the majority of my life in the Royal Air Force and following retirement from the forces I worked part time as an IT Lecturer for Hull University in local schools and also as an IT Technician in several schools. My wife was a Primary School Teacher and retired as a Head Teacher of a large Junior School in Lincolnshire. We have a son and daughter who live in Australia and South Africa respectively. Our property was initially purchased as a holiday home for us in 2000 but we moved to Spain permanently in 2003 when it became our home. We enjoyed the area with its fantasic mountain views so much that we brought a second house in the next street where we now live. For the last 6 years, this property has been on a long lease with a couple who have recently returned to the UK and we have just completed a major renovation of the property..
