Villa overview - owner's description

Three bedroomed house with private pool air conditioning and heating sleeps 6 persons within 5 minutes of 3 championship golf courses and beaches, within walking distance to all local amenities

This delightful spacious house is located in the Southern Costa Blanca in the area of Bosque de las Lomas, Las Filipinas, Villa Martin. The house is situated on a wide residential street which is very quiet, but, a 2 minute walk away brings you to the excellent local amenities of banks, over a dozen cafes,/pubs/ restaurants (Spanish, Chinese, Indian, and English). There are also two local supermarkets which are of very good quality. Within 1km is a large "Mercadona" supermarket. Within a 15minute walk is the commercial centre of La Fuente which has many bars and restaurants offering many styles and varieties of food.

The house is only a few years old and is equipped with everything you should need whilst on holiday it has 1 double and 2 twin bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (one full with shower, bath, etc. and one with toilet and vanity unit). Air conditioning and heating, safe, fitted and fully equipped kitchen incl. washing machine, microwave, fridge, freezer, iron, juicer, coffee maker. The dining area has seating at the table for six people. The spacious lounge with three sofas has also a TV, DVD, CD player which are all ideal for relaxation. There are games for the children, books for adults and children, coolbags and ice packs for the beach, sunshades for the car and anything else we can think you may need whilst on holiday we have tried our best to provide. The lounge opens out onto the front porch which captures the evening sun and a good place to have your pre dinner drinks. Upstairs there is two large sun balconies leading off each of the bedrooms. All terraces and balconies are equipped with chairs and tables.

PLEASE NOTE: It may not be suitable for people with walking difficulties due to both the five external steps and internal stairs, although once inside one of the twin bedrooms and the washroom are situated on the lower floor.

The property boasts its own private pool for your exclusive use which is 20ft x 10ft and depth from 3ft gradually increasing to 5ft. This gives you the freedom and privacy to have a dip any time of day without restriction and there is always a chair available to spread your towel on.

This is a very comfortable spacious house well equipped for a relaxing holiday. More photos can be supplied on request. A very comprehensive information file is available in the house containing all places of interest, local information and maps for use by guests.

The house is situated close to the small town of Saint Miguel de Salinas which is reached by driving through its surrounding lemon and orange groves and beautiful countryside to the west . This is becoming a busy and popular town especially on Market day (Wed) when the place comes alive and many a lovely restauraunt can be found down the quaint narrow streets.

For the Golfer the house is situated within five minutes of the three championship golf courses of Villa Martin, Las Ramblas and Campoamor and all their amenities. Next to Villa Martin Golf Course is the famous Villa Martin Square with over 30 restaurants to choose from which spill out onto its pretty terraces. The excellent blue flag beaches of La Zenia, Campoamor, Mil Palmeras and coves of Torre de la Horadada are a 5-10 minute drive to the East. The large and vibrant town of Torrevieja is only 15 minutes away to the North and offers a massive range of amenities and Spanish culture from a stroll along the lovely wide prom with its craft stalls, fountains, statues and town squares to a visit to the cinema or crazy golf. Just off the prom is a very popular area for bathing with a natural swimming pool. Approx 10 miles south is the magnificent area of Mar Menor which is an inland sea and a haven for birds incl. flamingos. In this region at Lo Pagan can be found a long broad pier ideal for bird watching and collection of the famous mud retrieved from the waters which contains healing minerals and when rubbed on joints and body parts with arthritic and rheumatic complaints it is reputed to relive all aches and pains - well worth a visit.

A five minute drive away is the newly opened and modern La Zenia Boulevard shopping centre very close to the AP7 motorway at La Zenia which gives speedy access to many parts of the region. There are many varied places to visit of which we have given a small example.

This is an ideal location for relaxing with everything you need on your doorstep for touring both the coastal region and countryside. The wonderful cities of Murcia, Alicante, Cartegena and Elche are also an acceptable distance away for an excellent and varied day out. For children and adults a day at the Safari Park is a popular visit. Benidorm is 1 hour by car and especially popular with younger visitors who visit the Mundomar Park and Terra Mitica Theme Park and if youve never been before it is worth a look. Airport transfers or car hire can also be arranged on your behalf.

A car makes the region more accessible but we have had several guests who have not taken up this option and found the immediate area meets all their needs. However, there is a taxis readily available which will take you where ever you wish or a bus takes you down to the coast (timetable available)

Just back from a week in the villa and it is beautiful. I personally think the pictures dont do it any adjust as the villa and pool are bigger than u think! The villa has everything you need and more! The house was spotless and the pool too! Very close to shops & restaurants which was handy as we had a 1year old. Never made the beach as the taxi service was unreliable and struggled with the bus times. Everywhere was a bit quiet but all restaurants and bars are brilliant and all really friendly! I have recommended this place already to family & friends. Owners seem really nice have been communicating through email with them and I am awaiting on reply about booking up next year, hopefully we can get the dates and we will be back every year if we can afford it! Thanks xx

Cannot fault this beautiful holiday home - owners were really accommodating and e-mailed through a lot of information about the villa, area and fantastic directions to the villa. We were met on arrival with a warm welcome by the owners who showed us around. Villa is definately a home from home, everything we needed was in the villa and best of all, for the kids, a lovely well maintained private pool with lots of pool inflatables. We enjoyed the pool area during the day and the lovely front balcony in the evening - ideal for an evening drink. The villa itself was very clean with lots of space.

Lots of pubs and places to eat nearby (local chinese restaurant at bottom of street worth a visit) and enjoyed a couple of evening in the nearby Villamartin Plaza (only 5 mins drive from villa). Shops were also handy, next to local strip of pubs. La Zenia beach was about 10 mins away - which the kids loved and found it clean and safe with lifeguards.

Definite value for money with this beautiful holiday home and wound definitely recommend it to friend. Thanks again Jill and John,

We all had a wonderful holiday (a mixed age party ranging from 2 to 40 ish). The house was a home from home with the added bonus of a pool, which was a God send! Temps during the day never went below 40 degrees.
The area is mainly english with many good bars and restaraunts, all good value for money and within walking distance.
Villa Martin is a must to see the parrots in the trees, although best to go early evening. La Zenia beach was great and a safe place for children to play.
The bus service was good and would take you to the beach, journey time 15 mins, although dont rely on the timetable!
Jill was amazing making every effort to make sure everything ran smoothly, from getting the keys in the post to organinsing taxi transfers to the airport. Thank you Jill.

Just returned from 2 fantastic weeks at this villa. The pictures on here do not do the property justice. The villa was equipped with almost everything you need. The swimming pool was fantastic and bigger than what we thought after looking at the pictures. Was great getting up in the morning and sitting eating breakfast by the pool. The sun shines on the pool all day, excellent location.
We did not hire a car as found everything we needed was in the local vicinity, although we did use the buses to get to the beach at La Zenia and Campoamar, which only took about 10 -15 minutes and only 1.15 euro each. Took taxi to Playa Flamenca Market one Saturday and very reasonably priced at 9.80 euro each way. We arranged our own transfers from the airport which were more than half the price we had been quoted by the local taxi company. We flew into Alicante and journey to villa took about 45 minutes and was a pleasant drive.
First night we had dinner at the Captains Table around the corner from the villa and the portions were HUGE. Best advice is to share or get takeaway and share portions. Chinese restaurant a few doors down the street was excellent value for money. All the bar/restaurant staff were very friendly. Would recommend this villa to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday wishing to do things at their own pace. We all loved the pool and was a godsend to cool down in as temperatures ranged between 32-47 degrees throughout the whole 2 weeks. We had a couple hours of showers one day and then by mid afternoon, sun was out and temperature 36 degrees. Air conditioning was needed on a night time, especially for kids as they wouldnt have been able to sleep for the heat.
This was our first holiday experience where we booked privately and didnt use a travel agent, and can safely say will probably never use a travel agent again. Many thanks to Jill and John for letting us rent your beautiful villa and the smooth booking experience and even hand delivering the property keys. Will definitely consider returning for another holiday

From Wallington

The property is the perfect size for a family and is really very well equipped.
The owners have done everything they can to ensure there is every implement, toy and device on hand for the perfect holiday.
We were really impressed with all the inflatables provided for the pool. ( Dont make the mistake we did and haul things out from the UK, theres no need!)

We had only two criticismsfewer breakable ornaments. They dont really mix very well with small children and a better or new air onditioning system in the sitting room.

Other than that we had a pleasant and enjoyable stay.

16th - 23rd September 2011 Airport transfers were stress free organised by Jill and Jim. The villas was so well equipped we wanted for nothing and the weather was brilliant all week. We spent the time sunbathing, reading, eating and drinking usually be the pool. We enjoyed Villa Martin Plaze for eating as well as the Chinese restaurantat at the end of the street. ( 4 houses away) The men enjoyed a game of golf at villa martin and the local Mercadona supermarket was reasonable. Wed recommend the villa to couples and families alike and would like to thank Jill and Jim for a lovely holiday. Brenda Gordon Graeme Peter and Cassie. Cramlington

5th - 17th August 2011 Had a great time the weather was red hot but the house is versatile if you want to be in the shade or sun you have the choice. The pool was a godsend to cool off and was great to have airbeds and toys available. Went to Rio Safari which was 20euros each and ok. Went on the go-carts at Punta Prima it was excellent and ate many nights at La Fuente the local commercial centre, as well as Torre de la Horadada and Torrevieja. Did the local markets but it was generally too hot to be in enclosed spaces - couldnt wait to get back to the pool to cool off. Iain and Abbie Northumberland

8th - 16th March 2008We have had a great week - lots of relaxing around the pool and a couple of days at La Zenia beach. Goodnight at local Karaoke bar. Villa is lovely.Jade, Paul,Hayley,Alan,Nicky,Gaz!

We enjoyed a very relaxing holiday in a lovely location and superb villa. The villa had everything that the family needed, especially, a great size pool for us all to cool down in, as the temperature was in the mid to high 30s throughout our stay. There are plenty of local amenities nearby but with a hire car you can explore further afield quite easily. We enjoyed it so much that we are now planning our trip back in 2009!

Sept 2007We have returned for the second time this year and visited the excellent San Miguel festival which was brilliant. Thank you so much "it has been paradise yet again" It was even harder to go home this time.J & B Lumsden - Northumberland

May 2007 Transfers from airport went very smoothly and arriving at this beautiful house was brilliant. We found the people here very friendly especially in the bars and supermarkets where they were very pleasant and helpful. The information book in the house is very informative and well put together. We have made some good friends and never felt the need for a car. We'll be back.J and B Lumsden - Northumberland

April 2007We ate out every night, making the most of the restaurants and cafes on the doorstep including the excellent local bakers for breakfast. It's been great exploring a new place for us - and there is still loads of places we didn't get to. All with the benefit of a lovely home to stay in, with our own pool!A Moore and family - Newcastle upon Tyne

The house is everything you need for a real chill out holiday, the photos do not do it justice. Locally we found the restaurants of very good quality, beaches fabulous and can't wait to come back.Chris and Karen - Sunderland
