Well placed for sightseeing and a lazy holiday. The villa is in nestled in a very quiet pine clad residential area and enjoys privacy and quiet.
However, it is in a great position to visit beaches and explore. The wonderful sandy beach bay at Cala En Porter is a 5 minute drive. This resort has plenty of restaurants, cafés, bars and ice-cream parlours and a family of ducks who make the beach their home! The beach bay is gently shelving crystal clear water and is a popular family beach.
Walk down to the Es Canutells bay from the villa and you will find a rocky cove with pre-historic caves. This was home to pre-historic Menorquians and is still popular with the local fisherman. There are more pre-historic sites including standing stones (mini version of stone henge) and burial chambers within a 10 minute drive of the villa making Menorca a UNESCO world heritage site.
A 10 minute drive will also bring you to the capital Mahon centred around the second deepest harbour in the world where you can pick up a boat tour of the harbour, see houses of the rich and famous and enjoy the excellent restaurants along the port front. Make time for a visit to the Gin distillery and try a pomada (gin and lemon), shop in the boutique stores and weekly market.
Menorca has hundreds of beaches and coves to enjoy some of them very secluded. The beaches in Menorca are known in Spain as the Paradise beaches with many white sand coves with turqoiuse water backed by pine trees.
The villa has a large secluded grass garden with sun bathing terraces around the pool. There is a shaded seating/dining area overlooking the pool with a bar and stool, so bring someone who will mix the sunbathers´ drinks!
There is plenty of space in the garden for charging about or just chillin´.
There is off road parking.
The villa is a comfortable Menorquian style farmhouse with living area overlooking the terrace and pool. There is a modern, separate kitchen.
The house is all on one level and there are 2 double bedrooms, 2 twin bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a shower room.

I very well positioned villa for a quiet and detached break. A car is essential as buses are infrequent and taxis are expensive. There are no real pathways suitable for walking though a bike could be used to access beaches although long journeys involved.
The house is spacious and pretty well equipped. There is no air conditioning but the house cools quite well. There is no safe which was disappointing. It says there is Sky TV but this only worked on 3 or 4 channels and probably only for 10% of the holiday which would have been OK if the DVD player had worked!
Paying for a cleaner is required at this house unless you fancy cleaning for yourself as although the tile floors are pretty they dirty up very quickly.
The pool and pool slide were great fun, let down by the fact the pool was only cleaned on the last day of our 2 week stay, which we found unacceptable.
The garden is lovely (but seriously over watered, which meant it could not be used any time before 12pm each day) and contained plenty of wild life such as humming birds and tortoises. You must prepare for the massive colonies of ants, who are very active and like to bite!
Overall the villa was great, but the service was terrible. Would use the villa again but not the company. One major issue was resolved pretty quick but all other issues ignored.
Thank you for your review. The pool is cleaned on Mondays and on Thursdays, you may not have seen the pool man as he was going early in the morning to not disturb you. When the service company were informed about your complaint, they went the next day at 11.00am to clean the pool and your family and yourself were out. We are upset to hear that you are claiming that we ignored your "issues" when we took action as fast as possible to put the problems right. Regarding the cleaning, you only paid for the cleaning before and after your stay as stated in your booking info. If you wanted a mid-stay clean we need to be advised before your booking starts as there is an extra charge for the extra clean.
Have just returned yesterday from the villa and it was great. The pictures dont do it justice . It wasnt all high tech but with having kids with us we didnt want that incase they broke something. The pool and gardens are fab much bigger than thay look. There are also 15 resident tortoise living in the garden, the children would spend ages each day looking for them.
Everything is close by including three large supermarkets and despite only being 10 mins from the airport there was no airport noise.
The only thing we werent warned about was the rubbish. The villa booklet explains were the rubbish goes but there is a curfew on putting rubbish out.You can only put it out after 8.30 at night. We only found out when we put some out the day before leaving in the morning after a tidy up only to be stopped and cautioned by the police. Our passport details were taken and were told if we did it again in 12 months we would be arrested and fined.SO BE WARE !
Apart from that we had a great time and would definately recomend this villa.
