Villa Jolaina, Costa Azahar, Valencia

Barx and La Drova are situated in the high valley of La Safor, between the mountain ranges of Buixcarro and Monduver, at an altitude of 400 metres above sea level, and enjoys a pleasant climate. Barx forms part of the community of the Validigna 'Mancomunidad de la Validigna' made up of the villages of Tavernes, Simat, Benifairo and Barx. A territory with its own identity, united by common history.
The villa is situated in the centre of La Drova approx. 4 min drive (20min walk) from the village of Barx with its many bars and shops including two small supermarkets, butchers, bakers, tobacconist, bank, chemist etc.
There is a bar/restaurant just around the corner from the villa which is renowned for its Paellas and meat dishes.

La Drova
La Drova must rank as one of the most beautiful, secluded and convenient urbanisations in Spain. Set some 1,500’ up in the mountains, La Drova rests within a lush valley bounded by mountains on two sides. Monduber, the highest mountain at 847m (2,500’+), dominates the area with its sharp summit clearly visible from all directions.
Five minutes drive takes one to the charming and ancient village of Barx where a traditional and vibrant Spanish life continues, as it has for generations. La Drova itself has a bar/restaurant and an excellent and well run Poliusporto which has a large swimming pool, tennis court and a games facility. Wonderful walking, climbing and cycling exist in an area with air so clear and unpolluted that that the stars at night gleam with an intensity barely known in the UK.
This is an area that will absolutely seduce even the most hard hearted international traveller.

Transport/Places to see
The village of Barx is a 20 minute walk from the villa (not to be recommended in the middle of summer). Gandia and the nearest big supermarket are a 20 minute drive away . It is essential to hire a car for your stay as the local public transport is erratic. The train service from Gandia is excellent and Valencia City centre takes less than an hour. Benidorm is only a 45min. drive with its theme parks (Terra Mitica) and water parks. Other places of interest are Xativa 30mins, Simat monastery 20mins and Guadalest 50mins.

The Villa is located in a beautiful green valley in La Drova , Barx, with wonderful mountain views, near Gandia and its Blue Flag beaches.

This is a lovely large villa with plenty of space both inside and out. Well equipped. We really enjoyed and made full use of the pool - still very pleasant in the middle of September although the growing trees means it takes a while for the sun to warm it up. The area is very pleasant with some lovely walks - short and more strenuous depending on your mood. Barx is walkable in the daytime - we had some lovely meals at La Visteta just outside Barx but you really need a car to get there - only open daytime during the weekdays in September. The TV system didnt have any mainstream UK programmes whilst we were there which was a minor niggle.

The property was very clean and catered for all neeeds with a fabulous pool, gardens adn evena table tenis table in the garage, the accomodation does lack air conditioning and the ceiling fans are rather noisy. The property is in a fabulous location with excellent mountain views however it is a bit of a trek to the beaches on very busy roads. We would highly recommend this property as a very clean villa with great facilities in a delightful location

This is an excellent sized villa with views of mountains on either side. The bedrooms are a good size with en-suite to the master. The swimming pool is also a good size and there was even a table tennis table in the downstairs garage. The owners have thought of everything with regards to equipment with everything you could possibly need and the villa is immaculate -the pictures on the website do not do the villa justice. Whilst there is no air conditioning there are ceiling fans in each of the bedrooms which was adequate during our stay at the end of July. If you are after a quiet relaxing family holiday in a secluded villa in a picturesque location then this is absolutely fantastic.

best equiped villa we have rented in the past 5 years. we cannot think of anything that was wrong apart from the pool being cold!! the area has fantastic views and is close to some very good beaches. there are limited places to walk to in the evening for a meal ect so driving is necessary but if its peace and quiet with evenings spent around the pool and bbq, it cannot be beaten. will be booking again without a doubt.
this is a very nice villa - well equipped throughout and very comfortable. It serves as a good base for exploring this region. Especially good for those who like mountain scenary and walking.
A nice small town in a good spot for visiting all the places of interest, all amenities within a short distance.
The Baldry´s from Hampshire.Fab villa. Had everything we needed and more. Big thank you for providing wecome pack to get us started. Will definitely come again in the near future.
Phil, Maria ,Billie and Beatrice Wilson from PershoreThanks for a good holiday . Great villa, feals just like home. Very comfortable accommodation.
