Villa overview - owner's description
Detached villa with infinity pool and outdoor kitchen with BBQ
Detached ground floor villa, and comfortable with well-kept interior. What a splendid place for a holiday. The villa is situated in the hills which provide it with a magnificent and panoramic view of the Mediterranean and cities Torre del Mar (15 km) and Vélez-Málaga (11 km). You will have access to a nice outdoor kitchen with barbecue. Make sure to keep paying attention, since the magnificent views will easily distract you. This is best enjoyed while floating in the private pool or from your sunbed on the lovely poolside sun terrace. Enthusiasts can play table tennis here.
This villa near Arenas (3 km), where you can find a bakery and small supermarket. Vélez-Málaga has a beautiful beach. Or would you rather take a dip in nearby Algarrobo-Costa (9 km)?

For walks from the house just step up the hill behind the water reservoir above the house. After a couple of minutes climbing the wine and olive groves you are on the crest of the mountain. Take a right and continue up to Bentomiz Castle with fantastic views. You can continue further towards the sea and return by catching the road up to the house (from Algarrobo). The walk takes less than two hours. In Arenas (also a nice walk down) make sure to have lunch at Juani's right before the City Hall. It's the one with a wild boar head on the wall (inside). It's cheap, no-nonsense food and you'll mingle with locals and farmers from nearby. For newspapers, maps and second hand books in several languages, visit the store on Plaza de la Paz (Calle Infantes 32) in Torre del Mar. For those who want to shop ecologically, there is a shop on the same square. In Torre del Mar we have a soft spot for Marisqueria El Yate - splendid sea food at a good price. Of the many chiringuitos on the beach, we especially recommend Victoria and Varela. Pizza and pasta at La Mamma II (Avenida Andalucía 63) is nice thing to do on a hot summer evening. They have an outside terrace. You mostly eat better in Torre del Mar, but don’t miss Nerja, which is really beautiful (and much more touristic). Ice cream on Balcon de Europa is a must. El Pulguilla (Calle del Almirante Ferrándiz, 26) is a really nice bar/restaurant. They serve great tapas inside at the bar or meals on a huge outdoor terrace with a back door entrance from the very large outdoor parking space just east of the Balcony. Marina (on the square with the same name) is also recommended. Swimming: Torre del Mar is very local and atmospheric. Nerja has more cliffs and a more spectacular setting. And you can even swim on the beaches to both sides of the Balcony – right in the center of town. But nothing beats the beaches in the Nature Park starting after Maro (which has a decent beach as well). Playa Cantarrijan is a favorite - you walk or take the bus down from the main road. There are two restaurants on the beach – and some nudists in the water. Canuelo beach is wider and also has a good restaurant. Again: It’s a nature reserve, so park by the road and take the bus down. Enjoy!
- Beds made on arrival
- Access the house you have to go through 300 meter of unpaved road
Spicy task to find the house for the first time. The road to it is at certain points very dangerous and sometimes even almost impassable with a normal car. Fortunately we had a SUV (really recommended) so we got through it fairly. Upon arrival, everything seemed fine. Reception was good by Vicki, very nice smooth British woman who led us through the house. But after looking better, the house turned out to be poorly maintained and cleaned. Kitchen sticky and dirty boxes dirty. No hood in the kitchen, which makes the whole house for food long after cooking. bathrooms very fussy too. And shower soon after 2 minutes the water became cold again. Outside the furniture is very dated. stains in the seats dirty old pillows on the sunbeds. Also, there are no umbrellas and there is no possibility to shade in the day. You can not expect anything from the outdoor kitchen to have a gas stove of 2 pits that are apart from misery. Very dirty too. All the crates contain stuffed crates, but the crates were filled with dirty rusty water where the cooking utensils lay. There was also a wasp nest in the porch but we were told that it would be empty. However, the entire week had a huge amount of wasps, which forced us to go to the beach during the day instead of staying at the lovely pool. The pool is definitely a plus of the house. Well maintained and clean. There is little to no lighting outside the house so very dark in the evening. However, the view was also phenomenal. Certainly in the evening. Beautiful sunset behind the mountain peaks. All in all, if the house is thoroughly cleaned and cleaned. And after measurements of this time are brought to experience real luxury.
Accommodation was excellent with lots of privacy. Accommodation is located some distance from the mountain. Spacious and maintained house and the items available were all good. Nice pool and you can enjoy the view over the mountains and sea. The road to it is a narrow road, sometimes bumpy and the last bit steep, but easy driving. Shops 30 minutes away in a big shopping mall. In the evening, going to a restaurant is a bit difficult through the narrow road in the dark. A good starting point for the beautiful nature and culture in the many cities.
The road to the house was a bad road. Experienced drivers make it. Older people will have more difficulty in reaching the house. However, in quiet ride you'll get there. In the dark it gives a lot more effort to get up.
Mr. R On...
Nice, but late August is the most arid and dusty. Walking to the village Arenas because of the many hills and heat not recommended. Especially near the house you could occasionally spot a rat. The manager had the poison been happy with zich.Comfortabel house (where the air conditioning and hot water it would work properly), good food, beds and a very nice pool. There is no air-conditioning in the bedrooms, there is a fan. Supermarkets and restaurants are within 2 km (Arenas) but the road to it is so bad, that to actually do it only with a 4x4 properly. The beach is a half hour drive on a challenging route also.
nice weather, food and beautiful uitzicht.Avontuurlijke drive to the cottage!
