Beautifully renovated village house offering luxury accommodation at an affordable price. Includes first floor terrace and private walled garden with small relaxation pool.
Situated above the Moorish church at the top of the village this extremely spacious, split level 2 bedroomed house enjoys spectacular views of the almost perpetually snow-capped Sierra Nevada and the village itself.
The private entrance gate leads to a secluded walled garden with vine shaded dining area, relaxation pool and sunbathing terrace.
Within the house are 2 double bedrooms, large kitchen/diner, shower room and spacious living area which leads onto the first floor terrace with barbecue which doubles as an open fire. One end of the terrace is covered, providing shade during the intense heat of July and August but can also be enclosed to provide an outside area for cooler spring and autumn evenings. All rooms are equipped with fans and there are two wood burning stoves to provide warmth during winter evenings. The traditional style of architecture with shuttered windows ensures the house remains cool in summer and cosy in winter.
The kitchen is fully equipped with 5 ring gas cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, fridge/freezer and double sink. There is ample crockery, glassware, cutlery etc. A large dining table provides seating for up to 8 people in comfort.
The living room with its stripped wooden beams is situated on the first floor with two French windows leading onto the terrace. A selection of games and books are provided together with a music system and TV. There is wireless internet throughout the house should you wish to bring your laptop.
Both bedrooms have double beds and plenty of storage space. French windows lead from the lower bedroom into the garden whilst the upstairs bedroom has French windows with a view of the picturesque back street.
All bedding and towels are included in the price and a cot and high chair can be provided upon request.
Parking is available 30 meters from the house but a car can be brought to within a few meters of the gate for loading and unloading.
Please be aware that the village streets are steep making this property unsuitable for anyone with limited mobility.
The picturesque village of Torvizcon nestles at the foot of Las Alpujarras. An unspoilt traditional Spanish farming village where you are as likely to meet a mule as a motor car! Situated one hour from Granada and 45 minutes from the coast, culture, countryside, beaches and skiing are all within easy reach.
With a population of just under 1000, the village has 4 bars plus a hotel and pension, both of which serve meals. There are also 3 small supermarkets, bakery, butchers, fishmongers and a weekly vegetable stall enabling you to do all your shopping without leaving the village. The travelling market visits on the 1st and 16th of every month with a selection of clothing, plants, nuts & olives etc. For a wider range of shops and a bustling Thursday market, the town of Orgiva is just 20 kilometres away. The village pool is open during the months of July and August and there are numerous fiestas throughout the year, the largest of these being the St Antonio Abad (fiesta of fire) in January.
You are surrounded by magnificent views of the Sierra Nevada and Contraviersa mountain ranges with walking up the Torvizcon Rambla and along the Rio Guadalfeo on your doorstep. For the more adventurous, Mulhacen is close at hand.
Popular with Spanish tourists but as yet relatively undiscovered by other nationalities, Torvizcon is an extremely friendly pueblo blanco and an ideal place to observe and enjoy the traditional Spanish way of life.
Beautiful, spacious house in a fantastic location. The pool is a great addition and the upstairs terrace has amazing views of the mountains. It was exactly what we were looking for and exactly as described a traditional house in a quiet village but still close by to the nearest town. Id definitely recommend this house to friends.

The attention to detail by Terry and Ginny was the best we have every experienced on a self catering holida,y leaving you with much more than the essential basics which are usually lacking in other properties. The reviews we read before going were great so our expectations were quite high however it still exceeded them.................thoroughly recommended!!!!!

I booked the house for my wife and 2 small children and we all loved it. Despite the worst weather in 60 years, we had a great time and felt really home from home. The wood stove kept us snug in the evening and its a nice touch to include the wood, wish all were the same. Lovely views of the snow mountain tops just from the balcony and great walks right outside your door. The surrounding area is in my opinion one of the most beautiful of the region, but the better know villages like Trevelez are only a short car ride away and the house makes a great base for exploring the whole area. All in all hard to beat and very pleasant owners too! Many thanks.

We had a fantastic holiday in this lovely house in a totally unspoilt village in the mountains. The house is really comfortable and spacious and has been very tastefully renovated. The pool is great and there are two secluded sunny terraces with outdoor furniture. There is also a great covered area with an outside fire for dining on chillier evenings. The owners had provided all sorts of little extras for us - there was food and wine on arrival - and have taken every care to ensure that their guests have a great time. Thoroughly recommended.
Simply the best holiday we have been on for years!!! Fantastic Spanish townhouse complete with stunning views and private pool.
We fell in love with the area and people of the town.
Perfect for relaxation and walking.Cant wait to return!!Thanks Ginny and Terry.See you soon xx

Fantastic place in a very characterful and atmospheric village. The house and dipping pool are very tastefully done out and has excellent views in every direction from the poolside and terrace, could have stayed for a month.
Hi Ginny the house was great, I have left feedback at villla reters for you. The area was stuning and we did get out and about. Cherry was great and really helpful We wish you the best of luck with the future. Best wishes Lorraine and Steve
Everything Great. Your house is smashing. Don´t suppose you´d consider selling it?
There is a municipal open air swimming pool in the village, approx 10 mins walk, which is open during July and August.
The private relaxation pool is not designed for swimming but can comfortably accommodate 4 people lounging with a glass of wine!
There are woodburning stoves in both the kitchen and living room should you wish to book the property out of season.
We ask that you confine smoking to the living room and outdoor areas of the property.
The village streets are steep and uneven making the property unsuitable for the elderly or infirm.
About the owner
We've been successfully letting holiday homes in Las Alpujarras for 7 years now. We love the area we have chosen to make our home and enjoy introducing tourists to the rural spanish way of life. We are always on hand if you have a problem or require information but we also try to keep our distance and leave you to enjoy your privacy if that's what you prefer. Hope to see you soon!
