End Villa with private pool and spacious terraces with stunning views and rural location yet just a 30 minute walk from the village of Valor with shops, bars and restaurants.
Furnished in a rustic style this property offers the ideal location for relaxing holidays for both couples and families. Located in a stunningly beautiful area with many opportunities for walking, cycling and bird watching, exploring local villages with their Moorish architecture and plentiful tapas bars or simply lazing away your days next to the pool.
The spacious living/dining room forms a central hub to the house with all other rooms opening off. The comfortable sofas, log-burner, ceiling fan and air-conditioning make this a welcoming space during the intense midday heat of summer as well as a cosy retreat for winter evenings.
The kitchen opens off via an archway and is fully equipped with electric oven, 4 ring gas hob, microwave, large fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Plentiful crockery and cutlery plus many extras such as sandwich toaster and chocolate fountain enable you to prepare anything from a quick snack to a lavish dinner.
The master bedroom is comfortably furnished with double bed and has french windows out onto an east facing patio/balcony which overlooks the pool. A small table and 2 chairs allow you to enjoy a morning coffee in this sun trap whilst steps lead directly down to the pool should you fancy an early morning dip. The luxurious, tiled en-suite bathroom with jacuzzi bath, wc and wash basin is the perfect place to pamper yourself, relaxing into the hot foamy bubbles by candle light.
The second bedroom is light and airy, again with double bed but also having a single truckle bed under, should you require it. The family bathroom has a roomy shower cubicle, wc and washbasin.
Outside is a shady dining area with gas bbq, conveniently located for the kitchen, whilst steps lead down to the pool terrace which is gated to prevent unsupervised child access. Around the pool with its underwater lighting are sun beds and parasols. Why not spend the afternoon relaxing in the sun whilst taking in the amazing views, pick yourself a lemon or lime from the tree to slice into a sundowner then linger around the barbecue until late into the evening?
The Moorish village of Válor is just 5 minutes by car or a 30 minute stroll. It perches on the foothills of the Sierra Nevada gazing out over the valley and the market town of Ugijar. An unspoilt traditional Spanish village popular with Spanish tourists.
With a population of just under 1000, the village has 9 bars all of which serve tapas and a couple of which offer a full menu. There are also 2 small supermarkets, one with its own bakery, which sell all essential shopping items including fresh meat, fruit and veg. The travelling market visits on the 4th and 19th of every month with a few stalls selling clothing, plants, nuts & olives etc. For a wider range of shops and a bustling twice monthly market (5th and 20th), the town of Ugijar is just 10 kilometers away. The open air village pool is open during the months of July and August and there are numerous fiestas throughout the year, the largest of these being Moors and Christians in September when the villagers re-enact the taking of the Alhambra complete with horses and musket fire.
You are surrounded by magnificent views of the Sierra Nevada and Contraviersa mountain ranges with numerous opportunities for walking and mountain biking on your doorstep. For the more adventurous, Mulhacen is close at hand.
Popular with Spanish tourists but as yet relatively undiscovered by other nationalities, Válor is an extremely friendly pueblo blanco and an ideal place to observe and enjoy the traditional Spanish way of life.
Casa Tog is a beautiful villa set in a stunning location with views looking down from the mountainside. It is both clean, spacious and the outside pool and terrace are fabulous. The property has all the mod cons a family could need, including Wifi, TV etc. The villa is just outside of the lovely town of Valor. Very little English is spoken in the area but we managed to make ourselves understood, (a phrase book was useful) the local residents are friendly and it feels like you get a flavour of the real Spain. The coast is a little over an hours drive away and the city of Granada is well worth a visit. Ginny and Terry, the owners were welcoming and were on hand if needed. Definitely a place we hope to return to one day.

We had the most peaceful and relaxing holiday during the first 2 weeks in September, enjoying the warm sunshine in a fantastic location. The property is first class throughout, clean and fresh and Ginny and Terry are excellent hosts. There was ample crockery, cutlery etc, fresh towels and with TV, Wii, DVD etc, there is plenty of things to keep everyone entetrained throughout. We have rented out many properties in different countries over the years, but this is by far the best we have ever come across. Just to add to this, the outside is excellent too with ample area to relax around the pool and the views are stunning.
If you want a holiday that offers peace and tranquility, little to no other tourists and you want to get to know the real Spain, then this is the place for you. We spent time enjoying the various walks in the surrounding areas, exploring the villages and relaxing around the pool. Highly recommended and huge thanks to Ginny and Terry.

This is a gorgeous villa, stylish inside and beautifully maintained with all equipment and facilities. The pool is great with amazing mountain views. We visited with our three children and all had a wonderful time, the kids loved the pool and we drove to the coast and also to visit the Alhambra in Granada which was well worth it.
The owners are fantastically helpful and gave us lots of good advice and suggestions whilst not getting in our way at all - the perfect combination. This would be a good base for walking, the mountains and nature are amazing. It is very quiet and off the tourist map which we adored but be aware that you need a car and the mountain roads are very winding- not good if you get car sick! Lots of great tapas bars locally which we enjoyed sampling, run by genuinely lovely, charming people. Nobody speaks English so take a phrase book!
I saw a review saying it is not good for children - I personally wouldnt agree, our children (ages 3 - 13) loved it and we had a fantastic family bonding time, leaping around the pool. Thoroughly recommended for parental relaxing!

This property is located with superb views across mountains up to 15 miles away. The location is very quiet and peaceful. My wife and I have used villas for about 8 years and this is by far the best we have stayed in. There is nothing in the villa which can be considered as missing. The villa has ceiling fans in both bedrooms and the living room as well as air-cond in the living area. The ensuite bthroom has a lovely jacuzzi which is a must try. The kitchen has everything in abundance electrically and the crockery and cutlery, saucepans etc provide everything you would need. I think the villa is situated in a position where it is really more suitable for adults as you have apart from pool, which is lovely and has steps into it not a ladder, no facilities nearby and I could imagine children getting a bit bored. So for the adults this is a real gem. You have to have a car as Valor is 2 - 3 Km away and its severley hilly, so it will be about 30 minutes walking both ways. We have never considered returning to villas we have stayed in before but we are very keen to return next year.

Our hosts, Ginny and Terry were very helpful before our arrival and were on hand to greet us. The drive from Almeria airport was straightforward and we were amazed how good the roads were albeit a bit winding in places!
The rear of the cottage backs onto the hillside which helps keep it cool whilst remaining bright and airy. Its comfortably appointed being obviously recently refurnished and the WiFi and SKY were a great bonus.
Most of the time we spent either on the terrace by the pool or under the canopy over the front door for easy access to the fridge in the kitchen. Pretty much the only sounds we heard were the birds, and I enjoyed watching the bats swooping around at dusk.
Valor itself has limited eating out for full meals, but we enjoyed several evenings at The Azahara which offered a good variety of tapas, washed down with several beers.
You notice how much off the tourist track you are by how little English is spoken in the shops and bars.
We hope successive visitors enjoy their stays as much as we did. If its peace and tranquillity you’re after, you’ll be hard pressed to do better.

We spent February here to get away from the winter weather in England and were not disappointed. The accommodation was excellent, clean and well furnished with a log-burning stove to keep us cozy in the evenings. Outside it was always possible to find sonewhere sheltered to sit in the sun. The area itself was beautiful, the scenery stunning with lots of good walking. There are plenty of restaurants/bars/ supermarkets in Valor and surrounding villages.

This house offered everything we could wish for, the location is stunning and the house itself is beautifully furnished and extremely well equipped. The kids loved the pool area and we especially enjoyed the bedroom terrace which proved an amazing sun-trap in March!!
