Modern spacious 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment situated in landscaped grounds with 4 swimming pools and within walking distance of the beaches on the Orihuela Costa.
This modern 2 bedroom apartment is located in Alameda del Mar in Playa Flamenca, a few miles south of the typically Spanish seaside town of Torrevieja. With both bedrooms having an en-suite bathroom and good size living area, this apartment is perfect for two couples as well as a family.
The complex is situated in beautifully landscaped gardens with four swimming pools and is fully enclosed with secure gated access and private parking. The apartment faces the quieter west facing side of the complex so you can enjoy the afternoon and evening sun from the full size balcony.
This apartment offers something for everyone and your stay can be as active or as relaxing as you like. With only a 25 minute drive to Murcia airport and 35 minute drive to Alicante airport, its perfectly positioned for you to take advantage of over 300 days of sunshine here on the Costa Blanca. With access from many UK airports and a short flight time of just over 2 hours, its not only perfect for your summer holiday but also for long weekend breaks all year round.
The apartment is accessed through one of the two secure access gates, where allocated parking is provided close to the apartment. The apartment itself is on the second floor and can be reached either by stairs, or lift.
The apartment door opens into a spacious, light and airy living area. Inside is a modern fully fitted kitchen area including a hob, oven,microwave and fridge-freezer. Everything is provided to enable preparation of a meal for four although with such a wide choice of restaurants within walking distance, you may choose to relax and let others do the hard work. If you do choose to eat in, there is a dining room table and chairs in the centre of the apartment for your use.
We will provide you with a welcome food pack in the kitchen ready for your arrival.
At the front of the apartment is the main living area which has a 3 seater sofa and two chairs. Satellite Television is provided offering over 60 channels and a music player to play CDs, cassette tapes or radio. The patio doors from the lounge lead out onto a good size full length balcony that faces west to benefit from afternoon and evening sunshine. A patio table and chairs are provided so that you can sit out and relax while watching the sun go down in the evening.
The master bedroom contains a double bed, bedside cabinets and a fitted wardrobe. There is an en-suite bathroom off the master bedroom with bath and shower. There are patio doors that can be opened to allow access to the balcony. The second bedroom has two single beds although they can be moved together to form a double if required. There is a fitted wardrobe and en-suite shower room.
There is also a utility area with a washing machine and space for storage. In the grounds which are landscaped and well maintained, are paths leading to the four swimming pools available for your use. In the centre of the complex is the main pool and sunbathing area. The other three slightly smaller pools are situated around the perimeter of the complex to the East, South and West sides. If you love all day sunbathing, you can start at the East pool when the sun rises, head to the South pool during the midday sun and end up at the West pool for the end of the day.
The name “Costa Blanca” translates to “White coast” and Playa Flamenca is one of the most desirable locations along this stretch of the Costa Blanca. The beach areas have recently undergone a programme of works and are now even better than before. Walkways have been installed providing easy access along the coastline. Cliff top walks have been provided and eventually they will allow access all the way from the busy town of Torrevieja, past the fabulous resorts of Punta Prima, Playa Flamenca, La Zenia and on to Cabo Roig.
The main beaches of Punta Prima, Playa Flamenca and la Zenia are all within walking distance of our apartment. If you have a car during your stay, youll be able to reach many more beaches including over 15 kilometres of golden sand stretching from La Mata, past Guardamar with its beautiful pine forests to La Marina.
Playa Flamenca holds a market every Saturday offering everything from fresh locally grown produce to clothes, bags, flowers and sweets, don’t forget to grab a freshly spit-roasted chicken while you are there, flavoured with garlic and absolutely delicious. You can also try a Spanish paella or a Spanish omelette, cooked in the traditional way, if you wish you can even watch while it is being made.
Just a 5 minute walk from the apartment is the Playa Flamenca commercial centre where you will find local shops including a supermarket and a wide range of restaurants offering dishes from all over the world. There are also plenty of opportunities to try a spot of karaoke, watch a live act, catch up on the latest sport or join in a pub quiz. For those who fancy a quieter evening, a 10 minute walk in the opposite direction brings you to Punta Prima and a different selection of restaurants and bars for you to enjoy. If you prefer al fresco dining by the sea, simply stroll down to the seafront to the Nautilus bar and lap up the beautiful sea views.
The year-round climate on the Costa Blanca makes this area ideal for a golfing holiday at any time of the year. Its a golfers paradise with the three top courses of Villamartin, Las Ramblas and Campoamor just a 5 minute drive away. Extending your driving time by about 15 minutes and youll have an even greater choice including La Marquesa in Rojales and La Finca at Algorfa. In fact, you can try a different course for every day of the week.
Just a short drive or bus ride up the road is the bustling Spanish harbour town of Torrevieja. Torrevieja is an all-year town and still retains much of its original charm and character, complete with its own harbour and fishing fleets. The Friday market is the perfect place to stock up on fresh produce, leather goods and clothes and is a short walk up from the sea front in the centre of town.
From the harbour in the centre of Torrevieja, you can enjoy walks in both directions along the seafront. Heading south leads you towards the conveyor belt that takes the famous Torrevieja salt from the lakes down to the sea for loading and transportation by boat. It is here that you will find Los Naufragos beach.
For those who fancy somewhere with a little bit more of a buzz, you can head to the sea via the promenade, a journey that will take you first to Playa del Cura and then on to the beautiful beach of Playa Los Locos. Both are popular and lively beaches on account of their fine sand, calm waters, a full range of facilities and the benefit of a bustling seafront promenade.
Evenings are a good time for a stroll along the seafront in Torrevieja and youll find the place bustling with Spanish locals and tourists alike. Enjoy refreshing drinks, ice creams or even dine al-fresco before heading back towards our apartment. You will find a wonderful choice of restaurants and bars to relax and dine at in Torrevieja.
For the more adventurous with a car, youll find many places within easy reach. The towns of Alicante or Murcia are perfect for a Spanish shopping experience. Heading inland will take you to many typical Spanish towns and villages where you can soak up the real Spanish atmosphere and way of life. Make sure to find out if there are any local fiestas taking place during your stay, particularly the Moors and Christians celebration. They are loud, colourful, exciting and well worth a visit.

Very relaxing holiday

We had a lovely stay in this apartment in August 2015. Ian and Carol were perfect to deal with, flexible with dates and times and everything we needed for our stay including a much appreciated welcome food and drinks pack, all bedding and towels provided and washing machine so we could keep fresh in the very hot weather that we had. Choice of pools and gardens which were well looked after and we felt very secure. I would recommend this apartment and would use again if visiting the area.
We enjoyed our stay in the appartment the only complaint that we have is that there was no air conditioning and given that the weather was so hot it was an essential requirement. There were 3 mobile fans available for use which solved some of the problem but they only fanned the existing warm air around which didn't really help at night when all you wanted to do was sleep. However it was good of the owners to leave some essential items of food and drink in the fridge and we appreciated that. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but if we booked again we would require air conditioning.
A lovely apartment, owners were very helpful and friendly. Great area with everything you need on your doorstep. Apartment complex was immaculate with four pools and plenty of space. Supermarket, bars, shops, restaurants etc all with a five minute walk.
