Beautiful rentals in Adeje, the sunny southwest coast of Tenerife

Holiday on an island where the warm, brassy sun shines year-round!

Bungalows, town houses and villas in mesmerising Adeje

The island of Tenerife enjoys warm weather and has only two seasons a year: spring and summer. Once a humble village near the mountains, Adeje is now one of the most popular tourist spots on the island, boasting lunar landscapes, historic sites, excellent green golf courses and large aqua parks with fast water-slides and well-maintained playgrounds. There is also a plethora of bars and Michelin star restaurants lined along the coast to lounge around in your hula shirt while resting your eyes on the sparkling coast. Nestled between famous Mount Teide and a bustling coastal resort, Adeje offers volcanic sand beaches caressing the warm Atlantic to the southwest and unspoiled landscapes to the northeast.

A contrast to its lively coast, Adeje town is more low-key with fewer restaurants and bars, however take a short stroll south to Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos and you’ll find a much more energetic nightlife with a choice of nightclubs bringing in the crowds until the early hours. Whether you choose to unwind closer to the palm lined beaches, enjoying the fresh sea air, or exploring the volcanic hills, surrounded by lush greenery, a Clickstay property is the icing on an already wonderful holiday. But keep in mind that a week-long jaunt isn't long enough to fully take in everything Adeje has to offer!

A beginner's guide to renting a holiday home in Adeje

Located only about 350km west of Africa, Adeje is a municipality in South Tenerife where the warm sun shines all year long and the blue Atlantic caresses dark volcanic sands lined with palm trees rising high into the perfect blue skies. You can see yachts whirl in and out of the marinas and windsurfers riding the waves. We all love the beach and the Costa Adeje is mesmerising, to say the least. However, more often than not we're looking for a bit more from our holiday; we also wish to explore the sites, traverse the landscape, dine at sophisticated restaurants, and this is where Adeje exceeds our expectations.

Usually, even the briefest of strolls around a town or city will let you soak in the the place's charm. Plaza de Espana offers gorgeous views of the island's volcanic arid landscapes to the south and holds an Asset of Cultural interest - Santa Ursula church. Getting there should take you through the charming narrow streets of Adeje town, lined with restaurants, quiet cafes and pastry shops. The town itself, is a fascinating example of the region's history; with ornate fountains that were once sole sources of water, now standing as monuments and reminders of simpler times.

Thanks to the micro-climate, enjoy a lush landscape, home to the famous Mount Teide, boasting thriving green vegetation on even the shortest of hikes here. Mountain and dirt bikers enjoy this diverse terrain as miles of scenic trails wind around the landscape over arid and fertile grounds. A short stroll north from Plaza de Espana, in Adeje, should take you to the starting point of a little over 3km long walking route which leads into the jaws of Barranco del Infierno gorge. Brave souls may even take a 35km long hike to reach the cable car in Teide National Park.
