Villa overview - owner's description

This holiday house is a vineyard cottage in area of Dolenjska region, more precisely in a small village called Trska gora near Novo mesto, the capital region's region. It is situated on the slope and it offers a view of the magnificent natural scenery in all seasons. In winter time when there is snow, we advise extra caution in those periods due to the steep slope. There is wine cellar in the lowest floor. In the first floor there is a bathroom, a kitchen combined with a living room and a bedroom which is separated only by a curtain. There is a couch in a living room and a double bed in bedroom. Floors are not connected from the inside, only by steps from the outside. This is a speciality of almost all vineyard cottages. There is a big terrace in front of the house and a balcony to which you can exit from the living room. House is perfect for one couple or for a family with small children. Only 8 km away there is a thermal spa called Smarjeske Toplice and 13 km away are also Dolenjske Toplice. Surroundings offer various outdoor activities: mushroom picking, cycling, walking, hiking. The river Krka is interesting for fishing and swimming. The town of Novo mesto with Otocec offers golfing, cultural sightseeing and trips around Dolenjska region. All guests are kindly welcomed with homemade local dishes. You can use the vine cellar free of charge either for vine tasting or as an additional living room. There is a relaxing corner on the plot with a hot water soaking tub for common use. Internet connection via USB.

The exact dimensions will vary from property to property but the agent has specified that bed sizes are as follows:

  • A single bed is typically 70cm to 85 cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
  • A double bed is typically 140cm to 180cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
  • A “grand lit” is a European double bed, suitable for couples, and can be smaller than the usual UK or American doubles. It is typically 130cm wide but in some instances may be wider; it is approximately 180cm to 190cm deep.

A bunk bed is two single beds, one on top of another. Some properties also have pull-out beds, sofa beds and/or bed chairs; in a few properties the bed can be low in a wooden frame on the floor. The beds often have terry cloth sheet mattress protectors to protect the mattresses; please use them with the bed linen.

Some properties may have a loft as a bedroom: this is usually an open room at the top of the house with sloping walls and mattresses on a low bed or on the floor itself. You need to climb a ladder to reach this room. Lofts are very popular with children but may not be suitable for adults or elderly guests.

If a property has an annexe then it will typically be a building attached to the main property or a small self-contained building. Annexes often have no central heating.
