The Chalet has great views of the Kamnik Alps and is surrounded by beautiful Alpine countryside. There is a choice of excellent ski resorts nearby.
The Chalet is just 25 minutes drive from Ljubljana (Brnik) airport and is located in a hillside hamlet 620m above the Medieval town of Kamnik. It has great views of the limestone peaks of the Kamniske Alps and is surrounded by beautiful Alpine countryside. The traditional chalet style accommodation comprises a large 1st floor bedroom with 4 single beds and a balcony. Bedroom 2 with double bed and en-suite facilities including shower is downstairs. The open plan living room has a woodburner for those cosy evenings in. The galley style kitchen is small but well equipped. Bathroom 1, with shower is also on this floor. The basement has laundry facilities and storage for skis, etc. Outside is a large terrace with seating for alfresco dining. There is a garden on all sides with rope swing, barbecue and outdoor games. With compact but comfortable accommodation, the chalet is ideal as a tranquil all year round retreat to get away from it all, for a romantic break, Skiing holiday, or a central base within reach of all Slovenias main attractions.
The Area :
With the Kamniske alps as a stunning backdrop, the chalet is in a tranquil hilltop location above the delightful medieval town of Kamnik.
There is a large garden and outdoor space to enjoy the beautiful alpine setting of the chalet and there are several very enjoyable walks starting directly from the chalet taking in forests, alpine meadows, the quaint local villages, spectacular views of the mountains and overlooking the whole of the Ljubljana basin.
The local town of Kamnik has an excellent choice of restaurants, café bars and shops.
This atmospheric little town, with its baroque architecture, narrow streets full of character , castles and churches is popular choice for visitors, and the tourist information centre is located in the centre of town along with numerous tempting pavement cafes and bars to enjoy coffee, ice cream or leisurely lunch.. Road and mountain biking are also very popular with recommended routes available, paragliding, fishing and horse riding are available nearby.
Visit the renowned Arboretum or the superb 18 hole Golf course with 4 practice greens. Close by in the Tuhinj valley is the Terme Snovik aqua park with indoor and outdoor pools, the sparkling mineral water is said to have healing and therapeutic qualities and requires no purification or treatments. Another local must-see is the high mountain pasture plateau of Velika Planina, 1600m above sea level are the best preserved herdsmen settlements in Europe, set in forests and alpine meadows, it is reached by a thrilling cable car ride. In winter it becomes a popular skiing and sledging destination. Visit the tourist information centre to get the best out of your stay.
The Chalet is within easy reach of Lakes Bled and Bohinj, Triglav National Park, The Capital Ljubliana, world acclaimed Postojna Caves, cable car trips to the mountain pastures of Velika Planina and a choice of ski resorts close by for winter skiing & sledging.
Getting there :
It is possible to fly to Slovenia via the following low cost airlines, flights can be obtained at a very reasonable price if booked well in advance.
Easyjet: from Stansted to Brnik, Ljubljana (Slovenia).
Ryanair: from Stansted to Klagenfurt (Austria), Trieste (Italy).
Adria Airways: from Manchester, Birmingham and Gatwick to Brnik, Ljubljana (Slovenia) .
All major car hire firms are located at the above airports.
The journey by road is about 1,000 miles from the channel ports. The cheapest and quickest way is via Harwich-Hoek, then via road through Holland, Germany, Austria and Slovenia. Tolls are payable are in Austria and a vignette car tax sticker is needed for travelling the motorways of Slovenia.
By rail to Ljubljana go via Eurostar to Paris, Paris to Venice (sleeper overnight) and Venice to Ljubljana.

A beautifully sited chalet in wonderful surroundings greeted us. It was excellently equipped in every aspect and proved to be a first class centre for touring Slovenia.The desciption was totally fair and accurate. We found the property to be idyllic but as stated in the description is not suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
The house is very good renovated. The kitchen and the bathroom and the living room are top. Downstairs the bathroom might have been done.
And a tumbler would be nice.
The very best is the location on the hill, in a quiet landscape with beautiful view.
Slovenia is a beautiful country and Kamnik was a superb location for both walking and sightseeing - too much to see and do in a week, so a return visit beckons. The
chalet is cosy and well equipped, and sitting on the terrace with a BBQd meal and some excellent Slovenian wine enjoying the mountain view was the perfect way to spend time (only quibble is the view would be even more stunning without the neighbours tree in front - perhaps theyd be agreeable to some pruning?).
All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable week in a new destination for us.
Waking up and seeing the stunning views every morning was perfect. The chalet had everything we needed for a brilliant holiday, we cant think of anything else that could improve it. Slovenia was a beautiful country with friendly helpful people what more could you possibly want from a holiday destination!
