Encosta de Sao Jose is a development located in Vale de Parra, in the Galé area of Albufeira. This ground floor spacious apartment is very well located on the complex and has been furnished and equiped to a high standard. It has a south-west facing patio (with table, chairs and parasol) which looks out onto a grassed area accessed through sliding doors from both the lounge and master bedroom. The gated complex incorporates communal swimming pools, sun loungers, landscaped gardens, children's playground, shared BBQ area, secure underground parking and a gym area.
The many local beaches are some of the best in the Algarve (Salgados, Galé, Sao Rafael and Evaristo). Vale de Parra and Guia have a good choice of very affordable restaurants which are family-oriented. There is also a shopping and leisure Mall at Guia. Salgados Golf course is within walking distance from the apartment. Vale de Parra is in the heart of the Central Algarve and everything it has to offer is easily reached.
Valle de Parra is a flat/level location with only small undulations.
Location – Encosta
The beautiful and extensive sandy beach at Galé is close to the Encosta resort - a short service bus ride (or 20 mins walk) away. There are also beaches at São Rafael, Salgados and Evaristo close by. A narrow picturesque coastal path leads along the cliffs from Galé to Albufeira for any keen ramblers/cyclists. Bikes can be hired locally.
Faro Airport is 45km from the Encosta São José complex in the Vale de Parra Region of Albufeira and takes 30 mins by car on the motorway. Car hire is recommended but not essential as there is ample taxi availability and the bus stop is very near to the complex taking you to the centre of the old town of Albufeira. There is also a bus service between Albufeira and Faro, with a connection to the airport.
Salgados Golf Course, 2 km. Albufeira Old Town, 4km and the Albufeira Marina, 3km. Slide and splash 12mins drive or collected by coach, Zoo marine 15 mins. Albufeira shopping Mall at Guia is a 7 mins drive.
Airport pick-ups and drop-offs can be recommend on request so you can arrange airport transport yourselves at a very much reduced price. Various welcome packs can also be arranged and will be placed in the apartment for your arrival. A meet and greet facility is in place and they will give you the keys to the apartment and show you around. They can answer any questions you may have and also provide a backup service.
Should you have a larger party of family or friends it is possible for us to arrange rental of other apartments for you within the complex. A cot and highchair can be arranged in the apartment at an extra cost. There is secure underground parking on the complex and a reserved space for the apartment. A comprehensive information fact file has been prepared of local amenities, restaurants, trips and useful telephone numbers and this will be made available to all guests. We also have a larger luxury maisonette (sleeps up to 6), overlooking the waterfront and adjacent to the Ria Formosa beach at Cabanas, available for rental - ideal for those wanting a two-centre holiday. I jointly own these lovely apartments with my business partner David. We also run a renowned Project and Programme management company but like to escape from the hectic life whenever we can with our families. We have put a lot of thought and effort into making these apartments as comfortable for our guests as at all possible. Holidays (long weekends or for longer periods) are always special to us and with this in mind we were keen to make the apartment a 'home from home in the sunshine' for people (whatever the season) who rent from us. We hope you agree!
The Vale da Parra area of Albufeira is 'low-rise' and not heavily built up and there are no skyscrapers. Beautiful beaches are on hand along with restaurants, bars and essential shops. If you feel inclined to experience a more lively day/evening then Albufeira is an inexpensive bus ride or 10 minute taxi ride to the east. The 'Slide and Splash' complex is available at Galè and Zoo Marine is even nearer in the same direction. Our initial enthusiasm for buying the apartment in this location have been bourne out by comments from our guests e.g "You have a wonderful apartment well located on the resort. We could not have had a better holiday and we will certainly return again". John & Tricia
The location of both the complex and our apartment are ideal. We have the benefit of fantastic golden sandy beaches close by with rocks to ramble on if we choose coupled with a wonderful location on the complex. Everything is near to hand on the complex and we are far from any noise and busy roads which may disturb ourselves or more importantly our all important guests! We have ensured that the apartment is usable all year with air conditioning for the summer months and oil filled wall radiators for the cooler times. There are some good (and inexpensive) restaurants and bars close by. The Algarve Shopping centre is a short drive away with an impressive array of shops, a cinema, food court and bowling. It is open until 23:00!

Bedroom 2: 2 single beds, built-in wardrobes/drawers and air-con. A quality folding bed provides comfortable additional sleeping capacity. Winter radiator
Bathroom 1: en suite to master bedroom has shower over bath, vanity unit with light above and shaver point, toilet and bidet.
Bathroom 2: accessed from the hallway and comprises of shower cubicle, toilet and wash basin with mirror and light above.
There is access to this ground floor apartment for wheelchairs through a locked gate which would allow a vehicle to park temporarily at the door of the apartment. The front door is wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair. We have had wheelchair bound guests. Further advice on accessibility willingly supplied.
Fully equipped with gas/electric hob, oven, extractor hood, microwave, washing machine, fridge, toaster, coffee machine, sandwich maker, pans, kitchen tools, crockery, cutlery, glasses, clothes airer, iron and ironing board. Dining table with 5 chairs. A comprehensive file of information and restaurant recommendations is placed in the apartment for use by guests.
Spacious lounge with air-conditioning, large comfortable corner sofa (with foot rest), TV, DVD player, DVD's, DAB radio/CD player, books/games, integrated speaker system, winter radiator, sliding patio doors onto a private terrace with outdoor table + 5 chairs.
Salgados golf course and complex is no more than 5 mins away, you are also within easy reach of several other golf courses including Vale de Lobo, Vilamoura and Quinta do Lago. We can provide advice on how to organise rounds of golf at reduced rates all along the Algarve.
Notes on accommodation:
The apartment is suitable for guests of all ages. The air conditioning system also provides heating but oil filled wall radiators have been fitted in the lounge and both bedrooms. This makes the property ideal for renting any time of the year. A smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarm are both installed and regularly tested.
The apartment looks out onto pretty landscaped gardens to the front and rear. There is easy access through both the lounge and master bedroom patio doors to the private terrace of the apartment and open area with olive trees. The complex is well placed for all the local shops, restaurants, bars (including Sky), internet café and an ATM cash machine. The ATM machine is under one of the complex apartments and the internet café is no more than 150 metres away. There is a communal BBQ area with a toilet and washing up facilities (BBQ tools are provided in the apartment). Outdoor furniture is also available. At the front of the apartment there is a grassed area where guests can sit in the sunshine to get the morning sun. The afternoon sun is on the patio and grass immediately in front of it. The pool area has the benefit of the sunshine all day somewhere!
Cleaning / Towels / Linen:
Equipped with all linen and bathroom towels which are changed regularly, however your own beach/poolside towels will be required. The washing machine in the apartment is available for laundering the linen yourself if required.
