Villa overview - owner's description

Luxury 3 bed villa with private swimming pool, two barbecues, high speed WIFI, maid service and private garden very close to Carvoeiro.

Combining the luxury of home with the best of the Algarve, Casa Amora is a 3 bedroom villa near the popular town of Carvoeiro.

Built in the 1990s and named after the owner's childhood home (thats mulberries not love!), Casa Amora is a inviting home from home for a family holiday. The villa is equipped with high-speed WiFi, a music centre, flat screen LCD TV, DVD player and several English channels. For those not tempted by the pool and outside life, there is a Playstation PS2, XBox Kinect and a selection of books and games.

The ground floor has the main reception, combining the dining and seating areas, and a separate kitchen. The bedrooms are also on this floor. The master bedroom has an ensuite with its own Jacuzzi bath. Beds 2 & 3 are located on the other side of the villa and are both twin rooms sharing a bathroom. There is also a separate cloakroom.

New for 2017 is the 1st floor sun room with panoramic views over the countryside and coastline. This room has air-con, available with an additional charge. (Note that the main reception area does NOT have air-con).

Meals can be taken inside on the dining table or at any of the 3 outdoor dining areas. One such area is in an enclosed courtyard with its own barbecue and dining table. The other dining areas are near the private swimming pool and the second barbecue of the property. This area also has an outdoor shower and garden toilet.

Maid 3 times a week

In the Carvoeiro Area
The area has a variety of beautiful beaches, the nearest is Praia de Centeanes and is within walking distance. Also within a short drive are Praias des Carvalho, Benagil, Marinha, Albandeira and, of course, Carvoeiro. Each beach has its own attractions with varying degrees of facilities and accessibility. Personal favourites are Centeanes and Marinha. There is a scenic cliff top walk between Marinha and Albandeira for the more adventurous (not recommended for toddlers).

The Algarve is known for its golfing and the villa is only 2 minutes walk of the Vale de Milho golf course. This par 3 course was designed by Dave Thomas to challenge all golfers. There is also a clubhouse, restaurant and bar. On the other side of Carvoeiro areVale da Pinta and Gramacho golf courses. Both courses are 18 holes and were designed by Ronald Fream.

Further Afield
For a complete perspective of the area visit the historic town of Silves with its Moorish Castle, or venture up into the hills to Monchique and Caldas de Monchique. Monchique is one of the best places for the local delicacy, peri-peri sauce, traditionally served on barbecued chicken. For those not adverse to a longer drive, visit Cape St Vincent, the Southwestern tip of Europe.

To appreciate the coastline you can take boat cruises from Portimao or, for the more energetic, take a pedalo from one of the several beaches. Some boats also offer sport fishing. Details of several excursions can be found in the villa.

Recommended by the owner are the excellent shopping malls of Algarve Shopping at Guia or Agua Shopping at Portimao. Portimao also has a daily market and a large monthly market held on the first Monday of the month. Whilst in Portimao, why not experience the famous sardines at one of the restaurants overlooking the bay. Algarve shopping and Portimao can both be reached within 20 minutes drive.

Popular gypsy markets can be found in the nearby towns of Loule and Quarteira.

Other nearby activities include horseriding at Country Riding Centre Silves and Quinta da Gill, the water slide parks of Slide & Splash & Aqualand, Zoomarine ocean theme park and the Krazy World Algarve Zoo at nearby Algoz.

We have stayed a couple of times before and have really enjoyed our time at this villa, The villa is very clean and tidy throughout.
It was a great base for us to drive and walk from. There are some very good restaurants within walking distance, and the main town is a 25 min walk or a very short drive
We have had some very good times at this Villa and hopefully we will have a few more!!

Lovely villa with great facilities. Property manager very friendly and helpful. Would definitely book again if visiting the Algarve, but would probably pay the extra for pool heating.

Casa Amora is great! Our family had a wonderful holiday based there. We found the directions to the villa a little confusing but were delighted on arrival to find a well maintained neighbourhood with an 'upmarket' feel about it and this was reflected throughout the villa.
The views from the upper terrace were very pleasant and all rooms were well maintained, clean and spacious. The villa is not directly overlooked and the generously sized pool was a highlight for us featuring a wide wrap-around patio with a diving board as a source of endless fun for our two children.
It would have been nice to have more shading options poolside as the only permanent umbrella was poolside and in need of some minor repairs as the fabric kept slowly retracting along the spines after extending. That said, the covered seating area by the pool was always an Oasis of cool for mealtimes and relaxing.
We were blessed with unbroken sunshine throughout our stay which meant we never ate indoors and we were able to take advantage of the two separate BBQ areas depending on wind direction.
Whilst we never got to meet Carole, she was always communicative and quickly helped us out of trouble when we locked our keys inside the villa on leaving for the day!
We enjoyed the local beaches, boardwalk and cliff top walks but made the mistake of leaving a boat-ride until the last day which turned out to be too windy.
The cleaners were friendly and diligent but we were a bit surprised to find a pool attendant cleaning the pool on our last morning having let himself in unannounced through an otherwise locked garden gate which might have been embarrassing. He too though was courteous and did a good job.
Case Amora is highly recommended. We hope to return one day soon. A fabulous find :- )

Thank you for your review. With the wind it's difficult to find sun umbrellas that last more than a few weeks. Consequently I am installing a canopy this week ... Too late for your stay unfortunately but if you visit again??

Family from Basildon, United Kingdom Jun 2017

This was our second stay at the Villa,
For us the location is great and the villa is clean and tidy.
Communication with the management company and owner has been quick and easy.
Restaurants are within easy reach and a few within walking distance, but it is equally as nice eating at the villa
Whenever staying in this area I would look at the availability here first

A really lovely villa with pool. We have been going for years and keep going back. The only drawback is having to put up umbrellas to get any shade around the pool and the table outside.

Hi, I'm planning on installing a canopy shade this year (2017). If you decide to visit again then please feel free to check with me whether the work has been done.

This is an amazing villa. Everything you could possibly want. Great communication both with the owner and the manager.
I will definitely be planning to go back again.

Nice and well maintained and equiped property. We stayed with the family 2 adults and 4 children (age 10-16) for only 5 days. Enviroment is not that exciting although the walk along the cliffs and beaches to Benagil was nice.

A bit about myself ... I'm married with two children and live in Kent. I don't work full time but I have several interests, some paid, some voluntary, with most related to properties. For example, I'm a relocation agent helping people move to the UK, refurbish properties for business and own use, am a landlord and, of course, have Casa Amora.
My parents bought Casa Amora from plan and I took over the running in the mid-2000s. So, as well as being a business, it's our family vacation home. I plan on keeping the villa as a escape in the sun so no air conditioning or high-tech wiring, but homely, comfortable and with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. I'm open to suggestions.
