Villa overview - owner's description

Combining the luxury of home with the best of the Algarve, Casa Amora is a 3 bedroom villa near the popular town of Carvoeiro.

Built in the 1990s and named after the owner's childhood home (thats mulberries not love!), Casa Amora is a inviting home from home for a family holiday. The villa is equipped with high-speed WiFi, a music centre, flat screen LCD TV, DVD player and several English channels. For those not tempted by the pool and outside life, there is a Playstation PS2, XBox Kinect and a selection of books and games.

The ground floor has the main reception, combining the dining and seating areas, and a separate kitchen. The bedrooms are also on this floor. The master bedroom has an ensuite with its own Jacuzzi bath. Beds 2 & 3 are located on the other side of the villa and are both twin rooms sharing a bathroom. There is also a separate cloakroom. The roof top sun room has panoramic views over the countryside and coastline; this room has air-con, available with an additional charge. (Note that the main reception area does NOT have air-con).

Meals can be taken inside on the dining table or at any of the 3 outdoor dining areas. One such area is in an enclosed courtyard with its own barbecue and dining table. The other dining areas are near the private swimming pool and the second barbecue of the property. This area also has an outdoor shower and garden toilet.

Maid 3 times a week

In the Carvoeiro Area
The area has a variety of beautiful beaches, the nearest is Praia de Centeanes and is within walking distance. Also within a short drive are Praias des Carvalho, Benagil, Marinha, Albandeira and, of course, Carvoeiro. Each beach has its own attractions with varying degrees of facilities and accessibility. Personal favourites are Centeanes and Marinha. There is a scenic cliff top walk between Marinha and Albandeira for the more adventurous (not recommended for toddlers).

The Algarve is known for its golfing and the villa is only 2 minutes walk of the Vale de Milho golf course. This par 3 course was designed by Dave Thomas to challenge all golfers. There is also a clubhouse, restaurant and bar. On the other side of Carvoeiro areVale da Pinta and Gramacho golf courses. Both courses are 18 holes and were designed by Ronald Fream.

Further Afield
For a complete perspective of the area visit the historic town of Silves with its Moorish Castle, or venture up into the hills to Monchique and Caldas de Monchique. Monchique is one of the best places for the local delicacy, peri-peri sauce, traditionally served on barbecued chicken. For those not adverse to a longer drive, visit Cape St Vincent, the Southwestern tip of Europe.

To appreciate the coastline you can take boat cruises from Portimao or, for the more energetic, take a pedalo from one of the several beaches. Some boats also offer sport fishing. Details of several excursions can be found in the villa.

Recommended by the owner are the excellent shopping malls of Algarve Shopping at Guia or Agua Shopping at Portimao. Portimao also has a daily market and a large monthly market held on the first Monday of the month. Whilst in Portimao, why not experience the famous sardines at one of the restaurants overlooking the bay. Algarve shopping and Portimao can both be reached within 20 minutes drive.

Popular gypsy markets can be found in the nearby towns of Loule and Quarteira.

Other nearby activities include horseriding at Country Riding Centre Silves and Quinta da Gill, the water slide parks of Slide & Splash & Aqualand, Zoomarine ocean theme park and the Krazy World Algarve Zoo at nearby Algoz.

Fantastic villa , due to the time of year we paid the extra for the pool to be heated which the kids loved .
Car hire is recommended as it's a bit of a trek to supermarket, beach etc .
Carole were great in making sure we had everything we needed and great advice on what to do and were to go .
Would definitely stay again if we could .

Couple from Swindon, United Kingdom Sep 2018

Although a car is essential to get around and explore, this villa was perfect for our needs and all the necessary home comforts available, we did need the cooker which was not working but Carole was at hand to help us out.
Was disappointed with the lack of air conditioning in the main rooms which we thought was a little miss leading in the headline advertising, overall we had a great week Julio’s restaurant was particularly good and just a short walk from the villa, The fans were definitely needed at night to sleep but did not distract from a wonderful time and a big thanks again to Carole who was always available 👍🏻
N.B Communication with the owner was not necessary

A lovely villa with everything you need. Would return without hesitation.

We have just returned from a 4 week stay at Casa Amora and had a truly wonderful time. The villa is beautiful and well maintained. The kitchen has all the utensils you’ll ever need - I did buy a couple of new sharp knives during our stay as the ones there were a little blunt. There isn’t air conditioning in the main rooms of the villa but we stayed during a heat wave and we only struggled for one night before Carole brought us an extra fan for the bedroom. Other than that one night it’s definitely cool enough without air conditioning. The pool is great, we paid for it to be heated during our stay and it was well worth it. There were some inflated pool toys ready for us when we arrived which was great as the kids were just desperate to jump straight in.
We loved our stay and will definitely be back!

Family from Dublin , Ireland Jul 2018

Our stay at Casa Amora was wonderful from start to finish. We were a family of 4 with two teenage children. The villa was perfect with so much space inside and out. The villa was spotless on our arrival and Elsa and Paula popped in every 3 times per week to keep it perfect. The manager Carole is a lovely lady and is fantastic when it comes to local knowledge and advice on places to see and go also if there is any issue with the property she is available by email and responds very quickly. The outside area and pool are amazing and the awning is a fantastic addition to find shade during the heat of the day. We would definitely like to re-book this property for next year as soon as we know our dates. Thank you.

the property itself was very good everything in it was in good condition with plenty of room the only thing wrong
was we had no tv for 2 days and the cd and radio didnt work apart from that we all had a fantastic stay

Reply from Tracie

Thank you for your feedback. I apologise that the TV stopped working during your stay. I understand that a repairman visited and rectified the problem. I have also replaced the CD/radio. I am pleased you had a fantastic stay regardless.

Nice and well maintained and equiped property. We stayed with the family 2 adults and 4 children (age 10-16) for only 5 days. Enviroment is not that exciting although the walk along the cliffs and beaches to Benagil was nice.

A bit about myself ... I'm married with two children and live in Kent. I don't work full time but I have several interests, some paid, some voluntary, with most related to properties. For example, I'm a relocation agent helping people move to the UK, refurbish properties for business and own use, am a landlord and, of course, have Casa Amora.
My parents bought Casa Amora from plan and I took over the running in the mid-2000s. So, as well as being a business, it's our family vacation home. I plan on keeping the villa as a escape in the sun so no air conditioning or high-tech wiring, but homely, comfortable and with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. I'm open to suggestions.
