the villa was superb, very well equipped and beautifully furnished, with more than enough room for the 8 in our party. The exterior space was well maintained and very spacious and the pool was wonderful. The villa is very private yet very close to the town. As we did not have a car, this was essential. I would recommend this villa to anyone

The photos don't do this wonderful Villa justice. It was such a hit that my niece plans to return for her honeymoon. Our family hopes to come back next year. This is an outstanding property with a lot of extras including free internet access. We all hated to leave. What is more, for English speakers, almost everyone in Portugal speaks some English and things are not difficult to communicate. The Sintra area had so much to see and do that we only went to Lisbon one day. This was on of those perfect spots. Antonio Bastos was nearby and available to help with any glitches. We loved our week in Portugal at the Villa dos Amores! Karen Hanneman
Perfect vacation Review Submitted: August 2, 2011, Date of Stay: July 2011 My family (6 adults and 4 children – age 2-10) spend the most perfect vacation in this wonderful house in Portugal. The house is extremely spacious and is located in a very quiet area but only 10 min. walk to the small town with shopping and restaurants. The heated pool with an extra kids’ pool was a hit for both the kids and the grown-ups. Everything was provided in the house even for the baby and it was fantastic that toys for the kids was already there, so we needn’t worry about that. The outdoor facilities was beautiful and what a treat that we could both sit in the shade of the house and in the sunny garden in the back of the house without having to move chairs and table. And no matter where we sat we could see the pool and the kids playing in the small swing-set in the back garden. Pedro (the contact) was ever so helpful, charming and welcoming and it was a pleasure to talk to you. All in all it was a fun, relaxing and wonderful vacation and I will gladly recommend this property to all large families. If you are traveling with elderly people you will need a car for transport as the street to town is quite steep. Once again thank you for a great vacation.
Fantastic Pool! Review Submitted: August 3, 2011, Date of Stay: July 2011 We (4 adults, 5 kids) just got back from two weeks in Portugal - the first in Praia das Macas and the second in Ferragudo. We enjoyed both places very much. The villa is an easy walk from the town and the beach and we managed to get around (to Sintra & Lissabon) without a rental. In retrospect, however, a car would have made the trip even better. The house is huge and well equipped. There is no welcoming binder or any information really, but we seemed to work everything out and when we had a question/problem we just texted Pedro. The pool was huge, heated and had a separate baby pool for my 3 year-old. This was particularly nice because we had quite a few red flags during our stay, so swimming on the beach was|t always possible. The village has a really great butcher, a nice market and some decent restaurants (our favorites: Buzio & Nautilos). Our only complaint really was that the double beds in the main house were a bit hard and uncomfortable. Overall, though, we had a great time at Vivenda dos Amores. A Perfect Family Holiday! Review Submitted: August 30, 2011 Date of Stay: July 2011 This was our first family holiday consisting of 6 adults and 5 children (ages between 9 & 14) and Vivenda dos Amores could not have suited us better. The villa is large and beautifully presented immaculately maintained both inside and out. The kitchen is particularly well appointed when catering for large parties with an excellent BBQ area. The pool is perfect for children as it is deep enough to dive and also kept at a good temperature when the weather isnt too hot. We had a welcome change of towels and bedding half way through our 2 week stay. The villa is set in a peaceful, parkland area with 2 well stocked shops within a 10 minutes walk. There is also an excellent fish market just a little further along. We chose not to hire a car which meant shopping was sometimes heavy, but still manageable. We experienced very rough seas during our stay which did not allow for a great deal of swimming but the beach was still enjoyed by all. We did not eat out often but there were a lot of very good bars and restaurants available. Pedro was excellent in all our dealings with him before and during our stay and could not have been more helpful. We would highly recommend this property to people looking for a family holiday, in a quiet authentic part of Portugal with very few tourists.
