Villa overview

Bom Dia Villa is a delightful, traditional cottage that has been lovingly renovated into a charming holiday home. It nestles amongst the banana trees and vines of the Quinta Vista Alegre estate in Funchal, Madeira, providing you with a tranquil escape close to the city.
The character and atmosphere has been retained throughout the villa. Stone walls, chestnut-tree beams and select pieces of furniture crafted with wood from the estate complement Bom Dia Villa's naturally beautiful outside space. This villa really is an oasis of calm and is one that offers you the perfect opportunity to simply relax and get away from it all.
The accommodation at Bom Dia Villa is laid out over ground-floor level. Open the front door into a characterful and spacious living room with feature stone wall. The ceiling beams are another lovely original feature and complement the coffee table that's also been crafted out of wood from the estate. There's a comfortable sofa and two armchairs giving you the chance to find the perfect spot to relax and watch the television in the evenings. The kitchen/dining room is well-equipped, with amenities such as an oven, dishwasher, fridge and kettle. There's also a classic wood dining table for quick and easy serving of meals.
There's one bedroom at Bom Dia Villa and it features a large double bed, a chest of drawers and an ensuite bathroom.
For your convenience is a separate, shared laundry room with ironing board, iron, washing machine and dryer. You also have use of the picturesque outside space with a large swimming pool that is shared with the owner and their family. The front patio features a shared seating area also, which is shaded by vines and perfect for enjoying drinks and meals. Soak up the almost rural-feel of the plot as you stroll around the garden with its abundance of banana trees and range of colourful flowers and plants.

Bom Dia Villa is part of selection of refurbished historical Quinta Barns. This holiday home, along with Funcho Cottage and Fennel Cottage, are nestled within a historic banana plantation and within walking distance of plenty of amenities within Funchal.

You can be enjoying everything that Funchal has to offer in less than 10 minutes when you drive from the villa into the city centre. Visit the harbour to watch cruise ships and smaller boats coming and going. There's even a replica of Christopher Colombus' famous ship that sets sail from here on fun trips across the sea. But simply strolling along this pretty waterfront area is enjoyable enough - especially if you want to keep your feet on dry land!
The old town area of Funchal is a great place to get a feel for the city's past and culture. The cobbled streets are full of character and lined with historic buildings, with some dating back to the 15th century. It's also a very cosmopolitan place to enjoy a coffee on a cafe terrace whilst soaking up the lively atmosphere.
One thing you must do when exploring Funchal is take the cable car up the mountain to the Monte area. The journey takes around 20 minutes and you'll take in some stunning scenery along the way. Funchal is home to numerous gardens, but one of the most impressive is Monte Palace Tropical Garden, which can be accessed via the cable car. These extensive tropical gardens are simply bursting with exotic plants and flowers, and are dotted with artworks such as traditional azulejo tiles and beautiful sculptures.
